Later during Greed Island we get Killua in the Hunter Exam again. Remember how that went? I don't think it was seven seconds. But it was pretty damn fast!

That was what, over 1000 in 1.5 hours? That's also including grabbing a giant bag and stealing everyone's tag, too. And all he did was hit them with enough precision to knock them out for half a day or something.

Then we get decimating armies of people and ants in East Goruto.

So today......... I shot myself in the foot and read the rest of the manga. I couldn't wait any more. I lost my patience. I already got spoiled on what's gonna happen so why the wait till next year?

On the end of Chimera Ants arc:
1- Gon's transformation: It was.......... I don't know what to say... bizarre isn't enough to describe it...! So Gon made a contract and sacrificed his youth to get older and gain more powers? It was really freaky and it shows that Gon is really, really insane to go that far!
2- Meruem losing his memory after the explosion: I have mixed feelings about it, but regaining it was the interesting part and how sly was Pouf to make sure his lord won't get his memories of Komugi again.
3- Death by poison: This one I didn't see it coming. I thought it was a cheap move at first, but from an in-universe stand point it was brilliant. If the explosion doesn't work, kill it with biological warfare. And Meruem and Kumogi's final moments were really depressing. They finally got their peace of mind and died loving each other till the end.
4- Kite's reincarnation: Well, it was established that nen users who got eaten by the queen get their human memories later on, so it wasn't that out of nowhere, but what were the chances that the queen ate Kite to make the last newborn?

Chairman Election arc:
1- Alluka: I knew that she ((I'm going to call it a she for the time being)) was important to this arc, but I thought she was an exorcist that was going to be used to bring back Chrollo because she was wearing a Miku uniform even though I knew that Hisoka found one at the end of Greed Island. I did not know that she was going to restore Gon to his normal state. I thought his super mode was temporary and didn't think it'll be that serious. But the rules sure are scary...!
2- Illumi: Seriously, what was wrong with him?! He was so twisted! But serves him right at the end!
3- Gotoh is DEEEEEEAAD! Thank God Togashi spared Canary...! The grandma butler was awesome!
4- Leoreo to be Chairman? I knew it won't last for long.
5- The new chairman is........... NOT Pariston Hill ((Seriously, couldn't he find a better name like Bill O'Reilly to spoof?!)) Didn't expect it to be Inuyasha's granddaughter!
6- Leoreo owning Ging... it was already spoiled to me.
7- The reunion: It was really funny. Ging got totally humiliated for being a terrible father. Too bad Gon couldn't say what he intended to say about him making friends with Killua.

So all in all, did you enjoy the ending of the ant arc and what about the Chairman arc ? Also why weren't you caught up ? Just asking out curiosity. Were you reading it by the volumes ?

So all in all, did you enjoy the ending of the ant arc and what about the Chairman arc ? Also why weren't you caught up ? Just asking out curiosity. Were you reading it by the volumes ?

I was caught up... to Viz's releases. I tried my hardest not to read the Edited Mangas and wait till the next release, but I couldn't do it.

I just have a question about the anime... just this one episode... Kurapika started bidding right, in his own costume and with the chains and all. He pretty much stood out WITH HIS CHAINS.

And not one of the spiders who were at the auction (Pakunoda, especially, who was there to see the bidders) reacted??? Is that a flaw that was in the anime only? I think I missed that in the manga, but watching the anime, a friend (who didn't read the manga) pointed it out to me and I also got to thinking... And I just couldn't accept that Togashi would make that kind of mistake...

Put simply, his chains arent suspicious to the characters in the series, but to us the audience knowing his ability we see it as a big 'HE IS THE CHAIN USER!' sign. But the Troupe have no reason to suspect he is the chain user.

Phantom troupe just killed 2000 mafia guys for a revenge. I think it's not too far-fetched to think that they will kill every mafia chain user they'll see.
Now, Kurapika is not just some Chain user. He's a chain user who works for the Nostrade Family. And that's exactly what the PH knows. "We search a nen user who works for the Nostrade family".
When Kurapika comes to recuperate the eyes, the guy manipulated by Shalnark says "Are you the representative of the Nostrade Clan ?". In the manga, Paku and Phinks pack the item, and we can clearly see Hisoka in the background.
One of these members should have react to the Nostrade family mention. Even if he wasn't the chain user, thanks to Paku's ability they could find him easily.
In the manga, due to the shock of PH's death, Kurapika can't materialize properly his chain.(he hasn't his chains in the following chapters until chap. 103 when Kurapika make a demo for Gon&co). Paku and Phinks are still stupid for not reacting to the Nostrade Family mention, but they are less less stupid than in the Madhouse version where they're not able to put 2+2 together.

Hopefully, they will find this mistake and correct it for the Dvd release to stick with the manga.
At least, Nippon avoid the stupidity of that scene by skipping the scene.

They dont know he is a chain user, the dude has rings and chains on his hands, how does this tell the Troupe he is a chain user? How does this tell them that he fights with chains? I dont see how there is any 100% guarantee that they even seen his chains on his hands, nor would it make any logical sense to presume he is the chain user. What would be the purpose of killing every person in the mafia that has chains on them in some way? That is completely illogical and absolutely out of character for the Troupe they wouldnt waste time playing guess who and kill randomly hoping they find the right person, if that was the case Shalnark wouldnt have been doing any research tehy would have just went on a killing spree hoping to find the chain user.

You are assuming that the Troupe know what you know about Kurapika, this is the wrong way of thinking. THe Troupe DO NOT know Kurapikas ability other than it uses chains in some manner. So how exactly are they meant to know that Kurapika is the chain user based upon the face that he has what appears to be chain based jewlerry on his hand? Because he is from the Nostrade family? They already believe that the chain user is working indiviudally so why would they think he is some random lapdog of Nostrades being used to bid on things? It makes no sense for them to suspect Kurapika in anyway at this point in time.
