I'm going to agree with the majority here--his drawings are quite nice. I can't pick a favorite, really, though I really do like the one with Pitou alone.

But that Ikalgo/PotClean one is soooooo adorable.

I'm no artist, but it looks like he colored these with pencils.

I hope we steer away from chimera ants when the manga resume, since I really didn't like that saga at all--which is why I'd rather see it go in a more human direction, for instance, dealing with phantom troupe, hisoka, and others humans like the zodiacs

I love the Chimera Ants. In fact I'd say guys like Welfin and Ikalgo feel even more human than guys like Hisoka or the Phantom Troupe.
But I want to see Hisoka and the Phantom Troupe too. Hell I want to see everyone pretty much because they're all awesome.
I want to see HxH get more global in scale. The previous arcs have all been on a local basis and after the Chimera Ant arc
it seems like stuff should be affected on a world wide scale.

The chimera ants kind of just popped up in a place, where gon, kite, and killau were in the middle of.

In sum, I thought the story would be based on hunters completing these missions for money and fame, while also clashing with bounty hunters while discovering new things and powers.

Did you forget how Gon and Killua unlocked their Nen? They took the shortcut by having their pores forcefully opened which is the same thing Gon and Killua unintentionally did to Rammot

Also didn't Gon, Killua, and Kite seek out the Ants in NGL when they were on a different continent? Doesn't get much more of them setting out on a hunt than that.

They didn't get it "easy" persay they are just creatures which evolve based on their surroundings and diets which is why they look as varied as they are.

The reason they developed nen powers with such "ease" is because they ate those which had nen potential and when they learned of that not only did they teach others the ways of nen but they made sure to hunt nen users to help empower themselves and not only make their soldiers stronger but also the future king.

That's the other thing, they learned all the secrets of nen through the brain of Pokkle which is also how they learned to develop nen at such an accelerated rate, they knew all the secrets behind it and much like Kurapica's determination to exterminate the Phantom Troupe which is what empowered his nen ability, The ants were most likely empowered through the determination of doing it all for the King's will and that Motivation/determination helped to make them even stronger.

Has there been any recent interview pertaining to hxh resuming? Like any hints as to what to expect?

To my knowledge there hasn't been an interview by Togashi or anything like that. Any current information I have is that the manga is slated to return in SJ's 27th issue on June 2nd--which is right around the corner, actually.
