I believe he will hunt chimera ants to make sure the horror that happened to Kaito will never happen to anyone ever again. OR he might just decide to take on Ging's idea of exploring the dark continent (most likely).

I really want to see how Togashi will unite Killau and Gon back together again.

Also, I'm curious to see how he will incorporate (Phantom Troupe + Kurapika), (Hisoka and Illumi), Leorio, Zodiacs, (Gon + Ging), (good chimera ants + Chimera Kaito), (Beyond Netero and his team), (Killua + Alluka) + New Dark Continent topics ; since it's becoming a big mess that needs some serious consolidation.

I would not be so sure. With the number of characters in this next arc I am convinced that many will die. Killua won't appear soon I think, he will get the Leorio/Kurapika treatment.

Nah, I think Kurapika has changed for the worse, and become cold from working for the mafia. I doubt the relationship they had would ever be the same

Killua will more than likely appear again, I just wouldn't expect it to be so soon, and frankly I wouldn't mind this if it meant we get to see more of Leorio and Kurapikawho have otherwise been put on a bus. I've stated it before and I'll state it again though, the first thing I want to see is what Gon's new goal will be, because even if anything else happens it'll feel somewhat annoying knowing what will happen may or may not mean anything if the main character isn't doing his job of being a main character.

Actually, I don't think we will see Gon for awhile as well, since I think Togashi will focus on introducing Beyond Netero and the Dark continent--which will then open the door for Gon and Ging.

I think its very possible that Gon will not be the main character for the next Arc, because if Gings Goal is to explore the Dark Continent and the Dark Continent is really that dangerous place like everybody says , then it would be suicide for Gon... Maybe while he trains with Ging, the Spotlight goes to someone else like Killua or Kurapika...

I can see the Genei Ryodan wanting Allukas ability and because of Kalluto they might know about her, so it might be Killua and Kurapika Arc next, while Gon trains on a deserted Island, mountain, desert, Ocean or other plane of existence since those giant trees seem to have their treetops ending somewhere

Which Chimera Ant did Gyro become?

I am gonna assume that Ikalgo was right and that Gyro is in fact alive. Why? Because Togashi is a jerk if he isn't.
So any Chimera Ant that is dead CAN'T be Gyro. Otherwise Togashi is a meanie.

Also I think we have seen Gyro before...we just haven't realized it. But who could it be?

I personally feel that the phantom troupe are strong enough to put up a fight against Ging and other zodiacs. It would be amazing if the next arc focuses on Ging exploring the dark continent, and then the troupe showing up. I want to see Shalnark go SSJ2 or above lol XD!!!

The only one of them who seems important enough for it to be them is Koala. Also his backstory involves the underground crime world so there is a possibility it is him, but personally i think it is noone we have seen yet.

i'd say both anime were pretty faithful to the manga, except that the pacing and animation are different. If you were confused which one to watch, go for the 2011 one. because it goes on beyond the 1999 one.

The story is about the same, but the 1999 is an over-dramatized version with cruical plot and characterization differences that made them do not match how they were presented or meant to be as in the manga. Go with the 2011 version instead because it kept the spirit of the manga in a better way than the other version.

Didnt we see Gyro traveling through the town Gon and Killua were training to fight Knuckle and shoot?

Well in the manga of course the anime only delivered his backgroundstory

So, just as I've been catching up wtih Berserk a few weeks ago, I decided to catch up with HunterxHunter aswell. Mainly because it's getting so much praise when it comes to the shounen genre.
I've watched what's aviable of the 2011 anime and read everything up to the end of the chimera ant arc because I couldn't wait.

And honestly, I have to admit that this series is really something. I'm not surprised people say that it has the deepest character development of any shounen out there. And while Gon is a good main character, just like with many other manga, the main drive for me definately comes from the other cast of individuals.
The Phantom Troupe alone is worth your time, but of course there's Killua's family, Netero, Meruem and f*cking Hisoka (that dude had me laughing tears when he fought Gon in the arena), just to name a few.

Also this story came very close to making me shed tears, which is porbably the highest praise I can give any piece of fiction.

It was the last game of Gungi between Meruem and Komugi to be specific. Altough Komugi alone is such a tragic character that she made me all teary eyed alomst every time she showed up.

The only major minus is the art in the actual manga... damn, some of those panels man.
But since the writing makes up for it and the anime adaptation (at least the 2011 version that I've seen) is so amazing, I can't really complain.
