Luffy's idiocy is far beyond the idiocy of even idiotic manga characters. what the common sense is, he does the opposite of. He's so slow it takes someone pointing out that it's cold for him to realize he's cold. Though, this could be attributed to living life with no regrets as almost everything he does, he does because he wants to.

It still makes him hilarious and awesome though! You can just see how loyal his crew is for putting up with his stupidity! THough, his idiocy makes him extremely reckless, which is not awesome.

I'd say something else regarding Luffy, but Sari's not quite there yet. But it's pretty hilarious, but it takes place after Enies Lobby arc. Though, the end of Baroque Work's arc is pretty funny, with Luffy doing math instantly. xD

As explained in the last sentence, Luffy's personality reminds me of a child. There are Freud's Id, Ego and Superego, and it seems as if Luffy only abides by his id. We can even say his ego and superego are non-existent.

Yeah, no matter how annoyed some of his crew mates can be towards him, they still stick by. Luffy's idiocy is also his charm point!
