Imu or Blackbeard? Final Villain
I'm going to make my statement here about which one I think is the true final villain. It's Blackbeard.
Why?
- Luffy has The Most Ridiculous Ability
- Blackbeard has The Most Evil Ability
Whatever Imu's abilities are, I don't think they're comparable to either Luffy's "Most Ridiculous Ability" or Blackbeard's "Most Evil Ability".
Imu lacks the knowledge of the Ancient Kingdom. If Imu knew the secrets of the Ancient Kingdom, then he would have been able to recreate a power source for his Ancient Weapon without York.
The true threat of the story is from how the Ancient Kingdom's technology will be used. Anything concerning modern technology won't matter because the Ancient Technology is Superior Technology that nobody understands how to use.
Well... Here's my conclusion about it. The only people in the story who will know how to use the Ancient Kingdom's technology will end up being people like Luffy or Blackbeard because it requires an innate understanding.
Even if Imu was the final villain, he would still be someone who doesn't fully understand the Ancient Kingdom. We already have evidence of that.
If it just turned out to be Imu Vs. Luffy, then that would mean it's not necessary to learn about the Ancient Kingdom's Superior Technology anymore.
But if Blackbeard learned how to use that Superior Technology, then he would suddenly become the greatest force on the planet. Imu has had 800 years to figure out a power source for his weapon, and he still never figured out how to do it. That should tell you all you need to know about him.
Blackbeard's hobby is archaeology. That's a hint that he has great interest in the Ancient Kingdom.
Lots of people think Imu is the Final Villain because he basically enslaved the world for 800 years. This much is true. However, what is painfully obvious about this is that Imu never learned anything in that entire time.
I think the TRUE PROBLEM of the story is actually how far experimentation has gone, and continued experimentation.
I think experiments the Ancient Kingdom did in the Ancient Times were on such a large scale that the entire planet has been affected since the Void Century, and this is what the true moral issue is.
If you look at it like that... then the things that Imu has done are insignificant. He can't affect the world the same way they did because he doesn't share their knowledge. He has a weapon. Yes. But, it also ran out of power and he had no idea how to get more of it.
Imu didn't really experiment at all. So, he's not a real threat in that regard. He's just a generic evil guy. If I'm right, then it's actually people who will continue experiments that this story is revolving around.
On a final note... I think Blackbeard's ultimate goal is to stop experiments. Forever. He may even view the world as a flawed world because it was experimented on so much. He may even view humans as flawed as a result.
Experiments resulted in humankind hyperevolving. After hyperevolving, and seeing what humans do when they are hyperevolved, like enslave each other, Blackbeard may want to "return everything to nothingness." Meaning, anything that has been experimented on or has hyperevolved, he wants to be destroyed so that it can be liberated from the cycle of evolution and restart in a new form somewhere else.
It's even possible that Blackbeard's "strange body" is a product of experimentation, and it may have caused him hardship. So, he may have resented experimentation from birth or something like that (born hyperevolved).
Sanji: Hm. So, he was experimented on like I was by my father against my will. I can't say I feel sorry for him.
Blackbeard: Zehahahaha!!! That's right. My body is the result of experimentation! They crossed my genes with a squid and now I have three hearts!
Lol... Teach is special.
