I have a question for y'all and theres probably a fairly obvious answer out there...but i spent quite a bit of time trying to figure out how i should upload raws.

I have the complete series in raw format of Grappler Baki. There isnt an actual thread for the first part of the Grappler baki series... When i tried to go to the upload section it asks me to request a manga that i already have.

so any direction would be welcome. thank you

Check out this page here, this is where you can upload the RAWs. Follow the prompts there, and wah-la, your RAW should be uploaded.

I don't know if I'm missing something, but what decides if a Edited Manga or RAW is readable online at MH? I can't see any pattern to it.

The uploader decides.

There's the following possiblities of Read Online not being available:

#1 - The uploader uses an external host and doesn't upload to MH at the same time.
#2 - The uploader uploads to MH, but unchecks the readonline option.
#3 - It'll appear soon, because the releases are in 'conversion' stage (if many releases get uploaded in fast succession it can take a few minutes for the read-online to appear).
#4 - Something went wrong in the processing of the upload. This is the least likely though.

Direct Upload to our servers will (unless unchecked) always make the release RO-available.


We hope to see more releases as RO on MH; many (actually, I think it's "most") of the raws offered on our tracker are available as DDL and RO. Unfortunately, many Manga Editors seem to choose external hosting on sites which offer monetary benefit for each download or link-click, thus there's a lower percentage of RO-available Edited Mangas. =(

I have a question about filtering translations/Edited Mangas list (Latest Translations/Latest Edited Mangas on the main site).
Is it possible to permanently hide some languages from there?
I'm usually reading English or Polish Edited Mangas/translations and downloading Japanese raws, but I'm not interested in Spanish/French/German/Italian/etc.. releases. Usually half of the releases are foreign, so when I want to see what's new, I have to expand the list, then filter by language. Wouldn't it be better to filter it just once and get rid of the languages I don't understand?
I tried looking for an option like that in the UserCP, but I couldn't find it. Is it possible to implement it?

Quick question on the new upload policy...

Every release

1. has to provide a non-profit download resource.
2. must be accessible to the public without the need for registration.
3. needs to be accessible in an unobscure, user-friendly way.

What constitutes as non-profit download source? I mean some hosts offers reward points for downloads, which in turns can be used to exchange for the paid premium membership. Would that be considered as download source for profit?

And the last one, the unobscure, user friendly way. Would a count-down timer be considered as user unfriendly? What about the need to enter random confirmation codes? Or excessive pop-ups/adds?

I'm currently using Megaupload and Rapidshare as my primary free file hosts, because of the file storage date (90 days after last download) as well as download speed for certain countries (mainly people from China and Indonesia, both of which have some people complaint on other hosts and/or even MH's DDL ) But I would like to know if either of these would fall under the for-profit or obscuring/user-unfriendly catagory.

non-profit is meant mostly for direct monetary benefits (like megaupload, easyshare, kewlshare, depositfiles, etc).
I'd suggest just leaving an MH DDL and adding rs/ms to the comment section/release notes -> those that need to will dl from there then, anyway.

That rule is about giving people a choice to not support money-making from downloads of illegal content. Especially if the group/site also has a donation button through which people can choose to support the work on their own.

as for the last one:
We've seen sites where we had to search through 5 pages all littered with ads and the links placed in incomprehensive ways just to get through to the download link.

I'd personally say 'the depth of a top-level forum' is the standard to go by...
like 'click forum-link -> look for comprehensible forum title -> see topic -> see link' is fine. The last rule is really just so we can point to the rules for really obscured ways to access the links to gain profit.
so, none of the usual filehosters would fall into that category currently (at least that I know of).

Problem with korean raws!

i noticed that if you upload the korean raws that they will be added to normal Edited Mangas. only japanses raws are marked as such.

in the end the "raws" button leads the translator to an empty list and people who downloaded their favourite mahnwa Edited Manga get raws instead.

we need an option to add raw mahnwa to the proper data base.

[eni]I like to add that I asked him to help backup a Korean Raw database that is about to shut down. Which means we'll get eventually a bunch of manhwa scans during the next weeks, so adding a Korean Raw selection before we start a bigger upload project would be great. [/eni]

Noticed something with the uploads... If you upload a few number of files at the same time, some of them might not show up for Read Online...

There are a few files like this at the moment (files with DDL available but RO is not showing up).

Is there a means to report abuse in reviews (on the manga homepage)? I've seen a few comments not related to reviewing the manga. The worst one being someone asking for the raw of volume 15 of Family Compo, although this series is finished and has 14 volumes
