hi, everyone

i'm new, of course, so i figured i'd introduce myself. my name is allen, i'm 33 years old and live in the southeastern US. i've been a fan of anime and manga pretty much my entire life. i can remember being riveted to episodes of starblazers (space battleship yamato) and g-force (science ninja team gatchaman) when i was around 5 years old...lol.

i currently manage a car and truck accessory shop but have aspirations of learning japanese so that i can be an ESL or an interpreter. i have three wonderful kids who take up the majority of my time when not at work, but in those rare moments lucid free time, i like to read, write, watch movies and football, and cook (i'm a single father so it was learn to like cooking or be miserable )

my current faves are bleach, air gear, death note and berserk.

I can already tell you are an awesome person and you will have a lot of fun and fit in well with the rest of us here.

If you ever feel lost though or have any questions or complaints do not hesitate to pm one of our mods or admins (blues and reds I think).

Also we have a fun little thread for parents at this forum that has gone rather silent, you might want to drop in just to check it out.

Welcome to MH, jim. Just like kiddo, i'm glad to see another Serenity fan here. You should ask around in the American Comics Section, Joss Whedon writes an awesome X-Men book called Astonishing X-Men.

i've been following astonishing and will be sad to see whedon and cassaday's run end. however, another favorite of mine, warren ellis, will be taking over, so i have high hopes.

and yep, LH, i mean merkin football...i have somewhat of a "sickness" if you really boil it down...lol

I also remember also starting watching anime at the age of around 5...I started at 4 or even earlier.

Hey there everybody! Just thought that I'd pop in and introduce myself real quick.

The names akumetsu0670, destroyer of evil and lover of anime/manga. I'm from the gorgeous (notice the sarcasm) city of Pittsburgh and just recently turned 20. I'm still trying to figure out my dream for the future, but I think it may involve something with English/graphic design/information science technology. I hate broccoli, unfinished manga, and groups who haven't posted my favorite manga in a while.

I'm going to start translating/Editing in my free time so tips and tricks are welcome. I'm going to try and get my hands on new Akumetsu Raws.

Recently I got a hold of Rosario + Vampire Vol.4-9 and am going to try and scanlate them. If anybody wants to help it'd be greatly appreciated. The group doing this manga was taking too long to get the next chapters out, and seeing as how the show's coming out in January I thought I'd take a whack at it.

Big fan of Bleach, Naruto, and Gurren Lagann

Hey akumetsu, welcome to MH =) Make sure to check out our Hangout Thread to get to know other members. You may be able to recruit some people for scanslating. Another way to advertise would be to put a message in your sig along the lines of "Look for people to help me scanslate Rosario + Vampire"
