Introduction Thread - Part 2

Hello everyone, i'm on MH for about 9 months now, but i never introduced myself properly.

My name is Moacyr(call me Moa) and I'm from Brasil, 20 years old. I've been studying Mechanical engineering for 2 and half years, but i'm trying to change the course now(kind of late, i know).

I never had interest in manga, because use to read HQs and thought that W&B ilustrations were kind of odd so I usually just watched animes.
I remember watching Saint Seiya(huge hit in Brasil), DBZ, Shurato, Ronin Warriors, Yu Yu Hakusho, Rourunin Kenshin and Pokemon in the late 90's.

Some years ago(about 4) i started watching Naruto and i liked the story, than a ton of fillers started coming out and i wanted to know what would happen. So i started to read the manga to know, and soon i quit the anime.
After that i fell in love with manga and started i ton of other ones(the list is on my sign). Now i'm kind of tired of Naruto, but i still read .
The ones that i really enjoy to read right now are One Piece, Beelzebub, Vagabond(the pace of the releases are just a shame), The Breaker and Bakuman.

I post a little here and there, but mostly on the portuguese thread. I read a lot of threads here, but i never did english classes and my writing is pretty bad so i don't get into many discussions because take too much time for me to put some line of thoughts in english sentences(don't call me stupid, please.. hahah). I'm writing this post for probably 40 minutes now... lol
But my problems are mostly in writing/speaking, because i lack of experience in these aspectes of the language, my reading/listening are in a good level, IMO.

I guess that's pretty much everything, so take care of me(i think this is a japonese expression, but ok lol)!

Thank you for posting your introduction. It’s good to meet a fellow Saint Seiya fan, I used to watch that anime when I was younger as well. Who was your favorite knight?

I guess my favorite knight was Ikki, he was kind of evil, but he was always showing up to save his sissy little brother.
I don't know in the other countrys, but Saint Seiya was really a huge hit here in Brasil. It kind of influenced a whole generation in take look on the Japonese work in animes, the "violence" was something new, before that we(brazilian kids) use to watch just USA's cartoons.

So your favorite was the Phoenix and yes I do remember he was always protecting his younger brother.

Saint Seiya was a bit hit when I was younger as well. I remember it was such a bit hit that kids used to talk about it in school. I also remember faithfully watching it all the afternoons after school. ^_^

Ohithere everyone!

Im not a complete newbie here on MH, but although i had an account here before, i didnt get myself to post much and was more the peeping-tom-type of user. But new name new game?!?

My favorite mangas are the common main stream stuff – i dunno why but i have a faible for it i guess. So like the big 3 and especially One Piece and Naruto (which lost a bit of its magic, since a while now but i have no dounbt kishimoto fill fix this!)

D.Gray-Man, Reborn, Soul Eater, Claymore and Fairytail are the other series im following atm. And oh yea GENSHIKEN is back-i couldnt believe it at first but im loving it, without this seires i might have lost track of mangas in whole, like a lot of my old friends some years ago, but reading genshiken IS always a little turning back time and thinking i so know this while laughing tears. Besides One Piece and Death Note this Series never lost his special flair and the magicly feeling while u enjoy reading it.
Well i did read some Mangas in my life, but not as much as a lot of other users here. So im happy to be guided and told some new insider tipps cause im a lazy to the bone..(sometimes)... But just to mention it, the whole MH does an incredible job here with providing us with the latest series – its just my own lazyness which doesnt let me cherish it, as i should. SORRY but THANKS!

Besides mangas i do, of course, have the complentary hobby watching animes and like to „waste“ my free time with playing videogames- which i got in contact with long before mangas/animes, if you count out Saber Rider, Captain Future and erm *cough* yea Transformers . Its been over 20 years now, for my gaming „carreer“ now and i still enjoy it. My preferences changes a lot though, so its sometimes more sometimes less, that i can be found at a gamepad and same goes for my other hobbys.

To give a little reference about my anime liking - im currently watching: One Piece (although im not a huge fan of on going adaption series from a good selling Manga – with a few excuses the original media is always the best and makes the follow ups seem pretty worthless) Katanagatari, and sporadical the world only god knows and K-ON!! season 2 (i was addicted to 1 but now ….its somehow still the same its just me loosing interesst in something great again >.<) same goes for Arakawa under the bridge...
And im pretty sure already, that i will keep watching koe de oshigoto (..on a sidenote i likes ****** )

And here comes the pain: Gundam Unicorn – hard to endure the waiting!
Hellsing Ultimate: erm more no much more sustain!!!
and the eva movies: i wont try to discribe the suffer...



Well for the game section ( if its still or was it ever?? interesting) i prefer RPG`s and nippon tactic's and besides whatever catches my interest – which isnt easy, cause im „a little bit“ moody and have a tension span like this: -
Plus i have some really strange rituals before i start a new game, which could convince me to buy it.

So it turns out that im always buying games and let some of em rot untouched in my collection. Like for example Dragon Quest6, Xenosaga1 Disgaea 1-3!!! Persona 3 and 4, Final Fantasy Dissidia, Monster Freedom unite, Killzone 2, Shenmue, Langrisser 3 + 4, Sakura Wars 1-2....
ayay i guess i could survive some worldwars - as long as i get provided with electricity and food...and cigarettes of course, i smoke like chimney same as Spike Spiegel.

Well games i really like (and have actually played) are the
Final Fantasy series / Zelda / the Tales of games / my beloved Odin Sphere ← eyegasm garanties included!!!/ Skies of Arcadia, Street Fighter, Guilty Gear X, Reseident Evil.
Plus im a huge fan of Phantasy Star Online and cant wait for PSO2 – thank you SEGA, but this was about time..

I better not talk much about myself, cause people will find out soon enough im nuts – but nice – sometimes – owell i shouldnt have started it anyway...

Are you referring to the One Piece Art section, right? If you take a look at the contributors, they're mainly MH members and Artists who upload their art pieces. Activity, contributions and posts in that section are not that high at the moment. Most of the members that post on a reguarly basis tend to focus more on their DV account with most of their collection of art works uploaded onto their DV gallery. It doesn't really effect the overall section in a bad way tbh. I too would like to see more contributions in the Art Section in the near future though. ^^
