I wish Irene's durability was listed so I could vote for that But
I kinda want to change one of my picks to her dragon roar. Really that was quite awesome (her whole transformation from human to dragon angel to full dragon). She's got such cool techs though can see why something like this is middle of the rung or irrelevant.
I voted Fuka Jutsu: Juliet Sun and Heine Lunasea, Fuka Jutsu: Blast, Universe One, Flying, and Big Eye. Juliet and Heine is a complicated, high-level magic. It's very impressive. Blast was able to push Acnologia meters away. UO is given. Flying and Big Eye are handy. Big Eye reminds me of Byakugan, which was my most favorite Doujutsu.
I went with pregnancy suppression because it produced Erza and also showed Irene as a mother before draginsanity kicks in ~X765. It's not a cool spell though.
Alright, seeing as we're nearing the end of the Erza vs Irene battle, and Hiro hasn't exactly touched on what exactly Erza did at the port when she was fighting the Historia, I figured I'd try coming up with a reason for why that happened.
From the moment we're introduced to Neinhart and his magic, he describes it as magic that allows him to peer into the hearts of his opponents. In a sense, you can say that it's magic that's related to the past.
Irene is a part of Erza's memories, a part of her past, by virtue of Erza not having grown up with her parent like a lot of the members of her guild. At the beginning of the Erza-Irene fight, after a few attacks from Erza, Irene told her that she had began realizing who Irene was, but still denied it.
In a sense, you can say that Erza's short skirmish with Irene caused her to slowly remember the past, which had her mother. Now, translate this to Neinhart's comment at the end of Erza's fight with the Historia.
I think that the reason that Neinhart sensed Irene's magic present in Erza, is because his magic basically awakened the memories of Irene's magic in her. Erza is Irene's daughter, it goes without saying that she should have traces of Irene's magic in her. We've already seen in a similar case before that parents and children have the same magical signature, from Sun Village.
So in this case, take:
Neinhart=Silver's ice
Erza=Gray
Irene=Demon Slaying Magic
Basically, Neinhart drew out Irene's magic that lay dormant inside Erza, and she used Irene's magic to overwhelm Neinhart's magic. We've already seen Irene's magic overwhelming another Spriggan 12 member's magic before.
Bonus Trivia:
Something similar happened in Bleach's final arc. Ichigo's mother was a Quincy, but Ichigo has never really displayed any Quincy abilities till the final arc, and that was after his fight with Kirge Opie in Hueco Mundo. Kirge was a Pure Blooded Quincy.
I think something similar happened on Hargeon.
Does that make sense?
Did you guys think Irene die?
Will her story stop at this?
If not, what possible roles will she have in the future?
Do you take Acnologia/Universe One'd Fiore/Sherria/Hisui into consideration?
Irene won't die. She'll get a 2nd chance as is the FT tradition. Wendy will probably heal her. Brandish might, but Wendy's there, and my guess is Irene has to apologise to her (coz Irene will be on the comeback trail).
Her role potential is always massive since she can work FH and also apply DSM to anyone. If she was in FT she'd have more plot armour than her daughter - and I don't mean this cynically (but it probs is).
Considering she has healer next to her she's in better situation than them ( At least until Acnologia will be back )
Her Story won't stop at this because her decision will force for Wendy and Erza to save her and begin her redemption path ( ) what awaits for her later we will see ( but for me her becoming an 180 of someone we got introduced and get to know will cause she will lose my whole interest )
- Acnologia will be the one to end Irene life ( if Hiro decide to get her out of the story and give Erza personal reason also in final fight )
- Universe one dunno if will be undone or can be undone without casting the second one and Reconstruct Fiore once again
- Sherria: why bring her here? If you mean that Irene can enchant and give her some new magic judging from how Wendy learning new spells she will be able to do that in few chapters I personally don't wanna Sherria to get her magic back she can become someone like Porly.
- I think unlike Universe one this will be undone with Irene death or simply undone by Irene/Wendy in the future

I see many ppl blame Irene for Makarov's death but she didn't. Makarov refused to follow Mavis's plans and killed himself.by casting FL, Infact Irene indirectly saved Natsu, Lucy, Happy and Mest from August's clench, Also, She saved Gajeel from a certain death not to mention that she excluded Acnologia from the battle, the one who could killed all the dragon slayers and destroyed everything.
is it just me the one who is so so so so disappointed with Irene's death? I mean she was the single strongest female in the world and she kills herself.... I was expecting more to be honest.....

I'm having trouble admitting it but... Yeah, i also regret her death.
I disliked her character ever since she started acting like a bitch, so i'm not too sad about her death - despite her redemption in my eyes when she proved that she still cared about her child. Some people were massively disappointed by her 180 degrees turn of personality, but i was fine with it.
What i regret is that she was an insanely strong individual, with insane potential, insane magic. Such an awesome mage couldn't be defeated by regular means, thus Hiro had to make a connection between her and Plotza, and the proceeded to make Irene suicided. This is a huge waste of potential in my eyes. Just like GoI+Jura who were fodderized by God Serena who immediately got killed by Acno. A huge waste. But at least GS was killed by the most powerful entity in the series... Irene suicided ffs. And for no reason at all. That's what i'm most disappointed about - not because i was fond of Irene or something like that.
one of the most heavy fights in the series. ( Erza vs Irene) By the word "heavy", i mean all the emotions that were around that fight. Irene's backstory was creepy as hell, good thing that it seems that both Irene and Erza don't have grudges against each other anymore. ( thank you , Wendy, for helping Erza here )
