some of reader may believe when chapter 170 out aoyama role is to inspire midoriya to invite eri to school festival,but i don't think that's the case.
the first piece of doubt is fallen when chapter 169 is focus in highlighting jirou after aoyama in chapter 167~168.
is there some connection between aoyama and jirou? actually there's one and it was back then during second villain alliance raid.
is horikoshi actually want us to look back for looking at the summer camp training arc?then the second piece of doubt is fallen,what if aoyama overheard the villain alliance spy identity back then? or is it when there's a little panel he looking at the fight of afo versus all might?
if he know the spy identity what make him holding up about one month before speaking in round about way to midoriya? what if it because the spy was also one of the people that got knock out with mustard gas? what if he doubted and wait until he can see the spy quirk again when they holding license exam?
but if it just actually aoyama side story then why back in chapter 169 aoyama choose "sparkling show" instead of "haunted house" if what he said is true back then that he love "surprises" and even he already done something similar to horror thriller back in chapter 167~168 he make midoriya freak out with his veranda cheese attack. it just make his character more and more confusing.
