Sousei no Onmyouji is doing great up till now in page count and color pages, I hope Yoshiaki finally gets the recognition he deserves.
Did anyone read Second brain? it seems to be doing fine up till now(although I think the real ranking will be out next month) and no scan group has picked it up.

Jump SQ's system of ranking has the same weight as that of Shonen Jump? The TOC really reflect the popularity polls?
It is unlikely see Tegami Bachi being cancelled, but if it reflects the polls it hurts me a bit, the story is so good.

I think SQ also have same ToC system as Shounen Jump, but it is more flexible. SQ don't axe series if it has good tank sale; thus, SQ cancel the series which has low ranking and low tank sale. Tegami Bachi will not going to get cancelled, but it looks like Fantasma eventually going to get axed.

Most magazines include fan polls with every issue. Even if the TOC is not organized (roughly) from most to least popular, there is a survey, and the editors do have the results. Weekly Jump places a much higher emphasis on fan polls than any other magazine. They cancel more series than any where else. Cancellations are unambiguously because of poor fan poll results. Other publications should not be compared to Weekly Jump. Sales as they are discussed in this sub-forum are not a factor for SQ either. The majority of SQ titles never even make the Oricon top 50. There probably is a sales floor that SQ is not willing to go below, the point at which a series is no longer breaking even. It probably is a pretty low number, considering that how many SQ manga fail to chart, or don't chart that high.

I understand. The series that I like on SQ make into charts, so I can relax.

Regarding the polls, I know about all magazines have it, but most of them don't have the TOC reflecting it. I have a feeling that SQ's TOC doesn't reflect entirely. Some series that we know they are popular don't get the first places all the time. I think only Shonen Jump do this way, in the end.

I am following SQ ToC regularly for long time and I think SQ ToC entirely reflect the popularity. Like it really isn't that much weird for popular series get low ranking and this even happens in Jump (like for Bleach and Gintama).

Not sure about that. For the story author, then they usually indicated as 原作. However, for Hasemi's case, he is indicated as 脚本 (which means screenplay). So, I think Yabuki and Hasemi both are working together on the story.

From interviews, it is somewhat apparent that they both have input on the story, so it's not too surprising.

Actually Yabuki is just the illustrator and Hasemi that is the author.

Hasemi is a former assistant of Yabuki. Yabuki provides input, feedback, and helps with scenarios. Hasemi does most of the actual writing, but Yabuki is heavily involved in composing the story.

As others mentioned, both Yabuki and Hasemi working the story together, so I indicated Yabuki as the "author," not "illustrator." For my perspective, the illustrator means mostly charging on drawing and not much on story writing.
