wait, wait, isn't Agrippa suppose to be by Uchimizu Tohru, the mangaka of Asklepios, not Amano Youichi?

I was wondering about that too. It looks more more like Uchimizu's art than Youichi's.

Edit: Yeah I checked the site, it's Uchimizu.

First look Gekka Bijin by Shihou Yuugi (Tista): here.

Also, Kaiten.Sama put wrong name for the author of Gekka Bijin. Author's name is actually Endou Tatsuya, Shihou Yuugi is name of the book by the same author.

I have a quick question. Shonen Jump's ranking is based on 8 chapters ago, then how many chapters ago that Jump Square's ranking based on?

Same company so there is probably a good chance it is. But I don't know if it was ever confirmed or not.

Jump Square is allowing for people to vote the series by online too, and somebody did say Jump Square ranking system works same way with Shonen Jump.

Re: Jump Square (Monthly Shounen Mag by Shueisha)

If it does, my guess is that they probably give a series 2-4 chapters. The shortest one to run in the magazine lasted at least 4 chapters I think.

Re: Jump Square (Monthly Shounen Mag by Shueisha)

I added January 2010 ~ May 2010 covers to the first post.

I'm really happy to see a new magazine. Gives more chance to see new and experienced mangaka liberty to show off their work.

Re: Jump Square (Monthly Shounen Mag by Shueisha)

I'm surprised that Sengoku Basara is doing really good, ranking is high and it is getting another colour.

Mayoi Neko is getting colour almost every chapter. I'm wondering Mayoi got lots of colour because it is actually getting good rank or just editor is pushing the series.

Lastly, Dr.Rurru volume 1's first week sale is 9,599. Is this good, bad, or neutral for new authors first volume?

its hard to say its good...... either average or bad (more on the bad sad probably)
didn't make the list on second week, so the total sale is probably less than 20K max

Ao no Exorcist sold 23K on its first volume, but then, its doing pretty well and its a different genre.

I just read first chapter of Gekka Bijin, and it is really good. I hope Endou doesn't get axed this time.

Re: Jump Square (Monthly Shounen Mag by Shueisha)

Mayoi Neko is most likely being pushed. With the anime starting a month ago Shueisha probably wants to push the franchise. Wouldn't be unusual; when the anime was airing Gangan gave Soul Eater an obscene amount of color/cover. Something like 11 color pages and 10 covers in a year. FMA has had cover/color every issue since the second anime started.

Re: Jump Square (Monthly Shounen Mag by Shueisha)

I found a first week sales for volumes that released on April 40th.

Shin Tennis no Oujisama Volume 3 - 134,197
Mayoi Neko Overrun! Volume 1 - 91,599

It looks like Jump SQ.19 going to release four times in a year.

Re: Jump Square (Monthly Shounen Mag by Shueisha)

There's also an official twitter account for JumpSQ.19 (just noticed it) I think there's sometimes sneak peeks there.

Why they don't have one for the main mag is beyond me.

Good lord. Sasuga books has a few subscription packages for Jump Square, but they all exceed $100, It might be worth it if I wanted more then just the latest chapters of Shiki.
