Since you are in Turkey, I will ask a question about something I heard. Is it true that you have to burp after the meal to signalize that the food was good, otherwise it is considered rude?

Funny thing is that I didn't notice that at all when we were in Tokyo, it doesn't seem like a hardcore tradition or anything xD

Certainly not in Germany, nor in Spain or Poland or the Netherlands or Austria. Not in the US too, at least not where I stayed at. Turkey I don't know, it's been too long since I've been there. It's definitely far from being a common behaviour all around the globe though.

Bunch of impolite people. This is one the first rules of good manners we learn here and we are the country where we use kiss as greeting. Don't speak with your mouth full, iron law. Sure, many people don't take it seriously in casual situation, but in business dinner you have to keep it in mind.

ugh I think there's a misunderstanding here. Adi meant that it's seen as a sign of the food being tasty when you talk with your mouth full in Japan, and you said it's like that in every part of the world xD So basically what you wanted to say is that it's not like that all around the world? Would be wrong too, but prolly the more common thing to do if you look at every country of the world.

I wouldn't call people who actually speak with their mouth full impolite though, if it's a part of their tradition. Every country has it's own set of traditions and they should be respected, even if we don't necessarily like it.

With this image do you agree with me or with him? Because the images just reinforce the idea that good manners in the table is necessary.
It is gross seeing that chewed food in the person mouth while he/she speaks.

"Funny" fact to end the discussion: Do you know that you can choke with you speak while eating? You cannot breathe while swallowing for obvious reasons. If you swallow something by accident while speaking you can choke because there will not be time enough to close the airway.
It is another reason you should not do those two things at the same time. Have food in your lungs is not something comfortable, you know. It could lead to your death.

Honestly, there are prolly people who would appreciate it that you want to point out facts, but sometimes they're really unnecessary to say, IMO. For example; the one you just said to me, like as if no one knew it. Dunno if people didn't know this here in the thread, but I doubt that.
