You're right about LFD Natsu not taking down Etherious Tempesta. I never denied that. However, just keep in mind that it was Torafusa's Black Water that took Natsu out. Had the fight lasted longer, Natsu may be able to defeat Etherious Tempesta. I have no proof of this so I won't use it as a fact. What I can say for a fact is that Natsu would defeat Etherious Tempesta just by going Dragon Force.Natsu in LFDM used his secret art and still couldn't take down etherious Tempesta, Tempesta in his base form was also wrecking Base Natsu and that's the Tempesta that Laxus one-shot.
Okay, well if what I said is speculation, then yours is too so we would have to negate that topic. Unless only your way works and mine never does... Honestly, it doesn't matter whether Hades said Laxus is Gildarts level or not. He still hasn't been familiar with Gildarts' power except sending his right-hand man, Bluenote, to try to defeat him. If Hades thought Bluenote could defeat Fairy Tail which includes Gildarts, then that is proof right there that he didn't know the extent of their powers. Basically, this is like me saying that you are comparable to a Sumo Wrestler in real life. How would I know that? I don't. So assumptions are invalid.Whether Hades met Gildarts or not is pure speculation, the fact is that Hades said that Laxus was "of Gildarts calibre" and Laxus performed far better than everyone else against Hades alone, Hades could easily have intel on Gildarts and his power. He also said that it was up to someone from fairy tail to take down Hades because it was their fight. You also can't deny the fact that Makarov said that Jura was as strong as Gildarts when he saw Jura's display of power, yet Laxus proceeded to beat Jura. That's right, Makarov saw Jura's display of strength and compared it to Gildarts, what more do you want?
Once again, what is said and what is done is two separate matters. Everybody hyped Jura during Oración Seis Arc. Was he the star there? Not really. Similarly, everyone hyped Jura in Alvarez Arc. What did he do against God Serena? Nothing. Feats are the only reliable source. Hype should be used when a character has no feats yet has been hinted to have potential. Because Jura already has feats like being overwhelmed by Oración Seis and having an even match against Jellal, then those are what we use to compare against other characters. That alone can be matched to Gildarts' feats which are way superior. Sure, Laxus defeats Jura. How about Gildarts? Nothing would back that up, instead, more evidence points the other way around.People in this manga can clearly sense power level's as seen time and time again with the Spriggan 12, Mira was commenting on Jura's power level and comparing it to her's and Erza's to see whether or not they could take them and she was doubtful.
Laxus was screaming for a while... He did panic for a second... Not to mention he was clenching his teeth and grunting a few times... Fine, Laxus was fooling around. So was Mystogan then. You can't give me an excuse saying that Mystogan was going all out while Laxus casually overwhelmed him. I'm not the one that brought up such a trivial scenario.During the Battle for fairy tail, Laxus was clearly not even serious when he was fighting Mystogan, the guys was laughing the whole time and even panicked Mystogan and threw him for a loop by activating lightning magic around him. The only time he got serious was when Natsu told Erza to entrust everything to him, that's when he threw of his coat and took of his headphones and that's when he really started getting his hands dirty. I don't know if your reading the same Manga, for you to say that Laxus was "only just above Gajeel + Natsu" is BS, pure and simple, he was stomping the two of them casually and then he decided to cast fairy law and that was his undoing, because the spell takes so much magic power it clearly exhusted him.
I think we're reading the same manga considering we're on the same forum unless one of us is confused and by that I mean not me. He was stomping Natsu and Gajeel for awhile. That I agree. In the end which is all that matters, it clearly showed he lost magical power and went downhill. His anger and screw ups led to his defeat.
Believe me. You don't want to see my argument. It may be too much too read. Seriously. However, if you insist on seeing it, just click the back page button a few times and start there. Re-writing or copying my posts will be annoying for others to read. Also where is your argument against Laxus one-shotting and defeating a Spriggan who had the advantageous match-up and when he was ill and dying throughout 90% of the fight?
That is the most impressive feat by a fairy tail wizard so far, go ahead and bring me a fairy tail wizard/ishgar mage who has done something more impressive than one-shotting a Spriggan while they are dying.
I'm truly sorry that you see it that way along with many others who disagree with me. I never intended to downplay Laxus as I even said he is a contender for being one of the strongest in Fairy Tail. Just because I say he isn't the strongest and have evidence to back it up, it doesn't mean I hate Laxus. I'm giving a fair assessment with no bias or fanboying involved.Literally all I can see in your posts is you downplaying Laxus over and over again, you haven't even tried to apply any of his feats and compare them to other characters. You just keep talking about how unimpressive he is even though he just one-shot a freaking Spriggan.
