The statement doesn't mean Spriggan 12 are invincible and there is no mage in Ishgar can defeat one of them. Deeming them as the most powerful opponents means this is final arc and I don't want this arc to be final arc. After this arc (if this is not the final arc), I believe there will be opponents that are stronger than Spriggan 12.
Pretty sure this is not the final arc, as the future story has already been indicated as Lucy searching for Aquarius key which can be in any continent. Probably, the group will travel to a new continent in search of the key and once again come across "invincible foes" more powerful than the Spriggans who as always, will ultimately be defeated. :)

IIRC the council did not decommission ethereon. Ethereon was lost when jackal attacked the council and everyone died. So.... the issue would seem to be simply no one having access to it. And if we consider walh's very specific skillset it is not impossible he managed to hack into it over a one year period during which presumably no one did anything with it. Perhaps walh using ethereon just now has more disturbing implications than we know.
I think you're right about Etherion. I don't doubt Wahl could reverse-engineer Etherion given his knowledge of weapons.

Yeah, Wahl is probably using his own version which he may have derived from studying the original etherion weapon. Though it wouldn't make sense for him to get his hands on it. The weapon should've been in Ishgar and Wahl was in a different continent.
Considering Wahl's robotic character base and that we've seen missiles and all, I think he could come up with etherion (or done so from study). I don't think it'll be as powerful as the main etherion though. Etherion needs something to draw power from and seeing as this one seemed to be within Wahl, I'm guessing it would've been fired using his own MP. Also, it wouldn't really make sense to fire etherion at an opponent that close. Technically speaking, it would've wiped everyone out, including Wahl.

Ethereon isn't located at ishgar. Ethereon is a satellite. Ishgar or alvarez shouldn't make a difference. The issue is getting control over it.

Ah that's right, I glossed that over. But reading on etherion, it's activation time is supposed to be one hour and the magic circle is quite large compared to Wahl's just being on his palm with a relatively short activation time. I doubt it's on the same level

I was talking about ch 472, the exhange before Assault Wahl; but I will answer this post.

- Laxus struggled (ch 472) in that he couldn't completely overwhelm Wahl. It was basically a back and forth exchange where neither ended up winning nor injured. He was able to keep up with Wahl despite his offensive efficiency being majorly nullified by Wahl's immunity to lightning. So in effect a Laxus(inefficient) was enough to push Wahl from being 'impulsive' into 'heartless' ie make Wahl go all-out (which he did).

- Gildarts is stronger than Bluenote, but not by much. They're on the same level to me.

- Wahl didn't screw up. He just didn't know Laxus was a dragon slayer. The Railgun is obviously a powerful weapon for Wahl, so he wanted to use it. He just got unlucky, and Laxus got lucky. Wahl could've won, possibly if he kept attacking Laxus until he was ko'd without using the Railgun. But he went into 'kill' mode, and decided to use Etherion. The time it took to use this was enough for Laxus to conjure a Jutsu Shiki. So Wahl would have to beat Laxus up enough so that a Justu Shiki couldn't be cast - because Etherion seemingly takes a little time.

- Why would we bring in the 400km cannon when Laxus is right in front of him? As far as I am concerned the impressiveness of the anit-matter cannon is that it traveled so far - it is a ranged weapon. It's DC however is only powerful enough to destroy a ship. I'm fairly confident that every one of Assault Wahl's attacks were more destructive than that anti-matter cannon - simply because Assault Wahl decided to use the weapons he did.

What you seem to gloss over is that Laxus was sick in this fight when Wahl went into Assault mode. He took all those attacks while sick. The energy boost from the Railgun gave Laxus enough juice to stave off the sickness imo. When that ran out he was on the ground, coughing up blood, had enough in the tank to pull a Justu Shiki (did this with determination). As soon as the MBP's were erased by Wahl, Laxus rose to his feet and charged Wahl - and then delivered a finisher.
I won't argue on such a baseless and biased topic anymore but there are a few things here that needs to be clarified.

I know you're talking about Chapter 472 and that is exactly what I was talking about too. If you count up how many times each took a hit, it would be 3 for Wahl and 4 for Laxus but the first was a surprise attack so that doesn't count. Basically, it is 3 to 3. Look at both of their conditions at the end of the chapter. Wahl had no damage inflicted on him, not even a scratch. Laxus on the other hand was quite injured. You can tell by the scratches.

Your comment regarding Laxus having a better performance even with a disadvantage due to lightning not affecting Wahl is just an excuse. That is the nature of Wahl and Laxus has his own too. Let's just say Silver, who is immune to ice, defeated Gray. Would you claim that Gray would still have been able to defeat him but didn't only because his attacks didn't work? No.

You say that Wahl didn't screw up because he didn't know Laxus was a dragon slayer? Let me set things straight here. First, it doesn't matter if he knew or not. He still screwed up. You can argue that it wasn't intentional but the part that Wahl wasn't supposed to hit Laxus with that attack and did is not negotiable. Second, assuming we buy your theory, Wahl still screwed up. He did a full analysis of Laxus which gave him information about small magic barrier particles disrupting Laxus' body. Had Laxus been a first generation dragon slayer, I wouldn't be able to argue but he is a second generation dragon slayer so he has a dragon lacrima inside him. If Wahl can detect something so small, he can surely detect something of that energy or size.

Now, I'm not the type of person who determines the power of an attack based on size. It is all based on concentration of the MP into the attack whether is is large or small. However, I recall that you argued with me on the subject that size does in fact matter. Just looking at the size of the cannon and attack compared to Assault Wahl's, shouldn't it be stronger? I won't argue on this because it is not my belief but it will perhaps get you thinking about it. You also have to consider that by the time it hit the ship hovering over Magnolia, it had crossed such a long range that it lost energy and momentum. Using the logic that it was only a long ranged weapon and nothing more is baseless. In fact, it was intended to obliterate Fairy Tail itself.

I never argued about Laxus' feats in Chapter 473 when he was sick. That is your idea and yours alone. Yes, Laxus was losing in Chapter 473 but he also had his own Nakama Power too. But I won't discuss that because, apparently, it is quite legit according to you. My point still stands, Laxus was struggling against Wahl.

Isn't that what I told you that the fight was even or that Laxus hit him one or two more times? Then you come out and say that I'm changing my mind. Oh and before you continue about damage as proof, even when Wahl was split in half and part of his face was shattered in pieces, their was no dirt or signs of damage on his face cracks or the pieces that were flying off. Metal and flesh don't show the same kind of damage. No blood nothing when Wahl was in pieces. What you say is baseless. That's why you're trying so hard to back out with your bs excuses. Can't finish what you started. Struggle? Even fight yet overwhelmed? Is that possible? Hilarious.

I don't think I'm being particularly biased. It's only baseless if you choose not to acknowledge what happened. I will defend Laxus as a fan, but I won't go making stuff up. Biased is saying Wahl could beat Laxus easily - something you've proposed.

I know you're talking about Chapter 472 and that is exactly what I was talking about too. If you count up how many times each took a hit, it would be 3 for Wahl and 4 for Laxus but the first was a surprise attack so that doesn't count. Basically, it is 3 to 3. Well you didn't cite things only within ch 472 so it's quite hard to believe you were talking only about that exchange. You literally brought in things that happened in ch 473 (you mentioned the railgun and Etherion).

Laxus had some scratches on his chin at the end of their exchange. Hardly noteworthy - certainly not quite injured. Wahl on the other hand was taking ineffective punches and still thought he needed to go all out.

No.
But I called it even. I said you could give it to Laxus if you factored in the ineffectiveness of lightning.

You called Wahl stupid, so you implied he made a dumb error. I said he was unlucky, because slayers are actually rare you know.

He did a "full" analysis but did you see a Lacrima? What you saw are a whole heap of MBP's. Wahl's comments in ch 473 don't seem to indicate that he had knowledge of Laxus' being a DS - which is different to MBP/Justu Shiki situation when he flat out admitted the error. So if we're going on panels you're pretty much making this up.

Size has context. Power of an attack is dependent on more factors than size. IIRC we were talking about AoE, and I stated that it matters if we're talking about someone like Natsu/God Serena who can deliver devastating blows over a large area. Like I said in the previous post the range of the anti-matter cannon is impressive - it's DC however is not that impressive.

No size of the cannon isn't an indicator. The Etherion cannon should be the strongest (it is a kill-mode weapon), and he didn't even make a gun for that.

Well you're assuming this magical weapon operates under the same rules as ballistics weapon IRL do. If it lost energy or momentum you'd be expecting to see this on panel - like the beam falling towards the ground or losing speed or even a comment. But it wasn't shown. In fact it was shot from the ocean, to a location 400km inland; so the beam would have risen in altitude. Calling it a ranged weapon isn't baseless - it's based on happenings in the manga. Implying that Laxus was very lucky that Wahl didn't use the anti-matter cannon on him is baseless.

I never argued about Laxus' feats in Chapter 473 when he was sick. That is your idea and yours alone. Yes, Laxus was losing in Chapter 473 but he also had his own Nakama Power too. Well I thought it should be noted that he was sick in order to consider the fight for it's entirety. RL could be all Nakama power, it could be legit; my interpretation is that it's legit. What's undeniable is that it destroyed Wahl, making it one of the most powerful attacks we've seen.

Don't worry about it, I know you didn't mean it. You're one of the few that I've actually seen apologize so thank you. I've said to others in the past nobody is perfect so we all have some+ errors in our posts including me. However, I tend to refrain from saying that someone is wrong unless I am being constantly targeted which rarely happens but it can.
I apologized because i value respect, people belittling characters and their accomplishment, or twisting things to suite themselves frustrates me the recent chapter discussion got the better of me it.

You may be right that re-writing something means that you have to have knowledge prior to doing it. That we can agree. The problem with this situation is that as you can see, Levy was able to take Freed's barrier down, yet I don't think she can actually create a Jutsu Shiki. A better example for this is like a computer program. Let's say I am able to overwrite a program using computer codes, but would I be able to create one myself? Similarly, a hacker may know how to hack and change something but could they create a whole network themselves? Probably not although it is possible.
*seigh* i knew that encoding comment would bit me as my knowledge of code is not enough to argue, although the spell being written base would actually make it easier to learn then creating a program as binary has more patterns to it then a written language as it speeds up the reorganization, which is why i chose a musical example if not overly simplified it is more approachable. I not sure I would put it past levy but I see your point that is why I contend Freed crafted that spell and that spell and then taught it to Laxus.

I acknowledge that this is one of my weak points. I have no evidence to prove that it takes quite a long time to learn new magic types. But, the one thing I can refer to is the whole timeline in the series itself to which we haven't seen almost anything like this happening so far.
True it is unique to Fairy Tail but it is common to shonen, characters have taught their friends techniques for far less then this. I doubt it is easy to learn such things, but Laxus has proven to know quite a few types already so learning a limited version of one he has such access to is reasonable.

Iprobably forgot that specific part of the episode so I'll take your words on it. The source you provided has more accurate information then me so I guess you can say it is more like Astronomical/Elemental Space Magic or however you want to call it. However, Jellal does have Lightning, Fire, and Air Magic for sure. I don't necessarily see how it ties in with astrology or space unless we talk about like the characteristics of space itself, but that is far-fetched. I still call it Elemental Magic to a certain degree but that is just me.
Fairy Tail wikipidia is what I cited

I didn't really mean to use the Omake as evidence but it was more like showing why Hiro Mashima didn't make it canon. If he really wanted Mirajane to teach Natsu, Lucy, and Happy Transformation Magic, then he could have incorporated into the story. Okay, you're right that that they're not related. Midnight's reflecting capabilities are his supporting magic in addition to his overall illusion and darkness magic. I am fine with that because every character has some type of supporting magic or back-up. The only problem I have with Laxus is how we were told that he learned Freed's primary magic so suddenly and that there was never any evidence to back it up from past arcs. Basically, I felt it was more like something pulled out of the ordinary.
I see your point, but remember Laxus did want to get stronger to protect his friends and defensive capabilities are a gaping hole in his (and really all the slayers') repatriate, plus we never got an actually explanation of what it was designed to do, just why Laxus used it. The degree is also not particularly clear as Whal had attack on the mind it was more efficient to cancel it with Laxus coming to him.

The main reason why I don't believe you learn just from hanging around with the user is because it is not that simple. It requires a long time of hard work, dedication, and training. Using this logic, Natsu should know Celestial Magic and Lucy should know Fire Magic. Or more like Happy learning Fire Magic while Natsu can learn to create wings and fly. Honestly, Team Natsu probably spends more time together then the Raijinshuu.
Well there is a couple of problems with that dragon slayers transform parts of themselves to dragon anatomy to produce their spells Lucy can't really get as good a look at Natu's lungs as laxus can a group of glowing symbols, nor do I think Natsu could explain the difference of autonomy. Lucy has a holder magic which requires and item and an exclusive contract so he really can't. The wings well they really have no reason for that, now if having wings=no motion sickness...well I would love a filler of that because I think even sweet Wendy would get rather adament about learning it, but there could be a biological componint to it as every exceed uses it without being taught. Finally, we have evidence of Team natsu splinting up while we only see the thunder leagon without Laxus when he is exile and they are injured.

So what was the point of your argument if you just IMPLIED it? I do recall telling you that it takes more than facial expression to prove it. You said this among others, "Ajeel shit his pants." Didn't you also say August is the type that will step in to save his comrades life, giving me links to prove your point? Is this your way of trying to back out now? Because you where pushing really hard to prove it earlier. Thanks for making it clear thinking you are different from everyone, that you make no mistakes. I've been corrected by others. I don't try to be superior to anyone. If I'm wrong I don't push the subject and deny it. Next time take what others say into consideration and respect opinions and theories of others. Sorry, but you were forcing your issue as if it was a guarantee fact Ajeel would die. Why deny what you were saying? Your just making it worse. Making it as if this is a competition, and you're a sore loser. Man up and deal with it. Making mistakes does not make anyone any less. Have the courage and humbleness to accept it.
Yes that was my argument, not to mention an expression is more than enough but August's action and his dialogue along with Ajeel afterwards backs it up even more. Give me my links? I already said he didn't help Serena when he was in danger (because he wasn't in any real trouble) and even stopped another Spriggan from helping but immediately jumps in for Ajeel, you should know when this happens. How does me bringing up a point mean I'm backing out? My up stuff as you go huh. Since you clearly forgot what happened let me show you.

August helps Ajeel immediately:

August literally stops a comrade from helping Serena
http://www.mangapanda.com/fairy-tail/470/7

But let me guess Ajeel had it anyway right?

I admit when I'm wrong a lot, but I'm not this time. Just because you can't see that you're wrong doesn't mean you're not. Your argument get worse and worse this point all the points you argued have just seemed to vanish into thin air.

Yes this argument is getting worse. You claimed Ajeel was going to die from Laxus lightning. There's still no guarantee of it champ. You and eliteace are quite similar. You two could be best friends. YOU BACKED OFF AND STARTED ANOTHER ARGUMENT NOT EVEN RELATING TO THIS ONE!!!!!!!!! You changed what you where saying from "Laxus was gonna one shot Ajeel. Ajeel shit his pants. He was gonna die if it wasn't for August." Don't you remember any of that? Stay focused and don't be so brain scattered just because you have no real evidence you explode and argue about anything. We don't disagree about everything. Just your presumption pushing your speculations on me like it was for sure. Ajeel might have or might not have died from it. It was you smashing you ideas of it being death for sure.

Don't bring me into your argument. I never said anything in regards to this topic. Therefore, how can we be similar? Just because different people have opposing points in regard to your ideas, it doesn't mean you can just group those people together. You claim we have no proof when you do the exact same thing and change your standpoints from time to time. However, if you ask me, Laxus' attack wouldn't even be close to killing Ajeel.

I personally believed Ajeel would be been hurt badly you clearly didn't read my first post by whatever not going to repeat myself for the 6th time to you. You are clearly not reading my posts because once again I SAID IT WAS IMPLIED, never guaranteed it would happened but since you clearly don't know what IMPLIED MEANS here's the definition.

implied
ɪmˈplʌɪd/
adjective

    • suggested but not directly expressed; implicit.
"she was aware of his implied criticism"
My August point links back all the way to the original point do I have to spell it out for you? The fact that Augast intervened only strengths my point of Ajeel getting fucked up, in the Serena he didn't jump in because he knew Serena was in NO danger unlike Ajeel. You are not reading all my post aren't you? Because in one my first post I say I think he'd get fucked up. But please bring up questions I've already answered for the 10th time again, keep prolonging this argument when you've already long lost.

Sorry about that. Fair enough. When did I change my standpoints, without admitting first it was my mistake? I told you a hundred times Wahl and Laxus were evenly matched. You yourself said they landed the same amount of hits. But you did not count the first two because it was a surprise attack or something like that. If you did count it Laxus was leading a bit. If not it was even. You defined struggle in many ways, but you also said Laxus was overwhelmed. If you meant that it wasn't easy for Laxus then I'd agree with you 100%. But you claimed he was struggling, getting tossed around, and overwhelmed, which I disagreed with. Even or close to even is almost the same and unless this is a race the differences shouldn't be a big deal.

I only mentioned you because I like the persistence you both have. Confidence to keep going. Although some of the stuff you said seemed delusional and kinda twisting what you actually meant. Crimson ice is a warrior debater. He just wants to argue even though the point of the argument is no longer relevant. You're both cool in that you both aren't afraid of disagreement. Don't go easy on me. There's no fun in that.

You're talking much more open minded now as opposed to forcing your opinion earlier as if it was a fact. I can't argue with that. I'd have to agree that it's a possibility. If you said that from the start there wouldn't have been this debate. But you were saying he was as good as dead earlier, like last week or whenever that was. The fact that you changed it to a possibility instead of sure death proves you've already changed your original point. Unless you want to argue about not having changed it too?

My intention was never to force it has fact. Again read one my first posts I said I believed he'd get fucked up not die not to mention I put implied in my posts. I never stated it to be fact.

I see it now. You said he likely wouldn't have died but badly injured. Ok you're clean. Natsu had somewhat of a look while Ajeel was preparing to attack. The drop of sweat was after the attack was gone, the facial expression was an unsuspected look due to Laxus power. The way I interpreted it, this was to show that ft can put up a fight against these so called unbeatable powerhouses. Like when a powerful hero sees how strong someone is even if he is stronger. I seriously doubt it would have badly hurt Ajeel. Probably enough to hurt him to damage him but not ko him. I saw your other comments on the Serena thread being pushy so I already marked you or judged you as abusive. Sorry for judging you and treating you as such.

I'm not gonna class villains in this com
Laxus has always been stronger than natsu and erza.
1. He fought Hades as equal for few min in 1vs1 whereas natsu erza wendy lucy n gray were all beaten, n they were together. I'm not telling that laxus was Hades level in tenrou arc, but he was stronger than natsu gray erza lucy n wendy.
2. In tartaros arc, he one shouted tempesta without getting serious, before taking for him a huge poison dose (city size) which is deadly.
Remember that natsu had lot of difficulties against tempesta, n even in lightningfire mode he wasn't able to one shot him. Gray was able to do it coz his magic is the démons weakness.

Now let's talk about arbaless arc.
In this arc, laxus has a very beautiful n badass entrance, he saved natsu erza gray lucy wendy mest n makarov then he was going to one shot ajil with just one simple attack which was a nuclear explosion !!! JUST ONE ATTACK.
Then, he fought wahl, who is a very very powerful spriggan coz he can attack with etherion (yes the council weapon) isn't that op ? Thunder has no effect on wahl, n laxus was very very sick ! Then he really impressed me with his strategy with HIS jutsuchiki he lurned from freed, laxus is very smart. Then he was able to beat wahl with just one attack.
So luxus fullpower is much stronger than spriggans except august.

I want to clarify another point spriggans are all arriver than erza ! Ajil defeated her in 1vs1 n if biska didn't shout him with Jupiter, he would killed erza.

So laxus is much stronger than her. I think he's natsu's king dragon level. Coz laxus is fastest n smarter than him, n now he can defend himself with jutsuchiki.

Gildartz is a little bit stronger than laxus.

Lol red lightning that surpasses lightning was such bs tho!!! Coooommmeeee ooooonnnn. He needed a dues ex machina to pull off the win. If he had beaten any other sprigfan other than the one immune to lightning i would agree with you. He didnt save anyone as well, qhen they were fleeing ajeel. Natsu had already shown capable to cancel out ajeels town sinking spell. Laxus assisted, not saved. Laxus is strong, but at this point in the story hes not above Natsu. Its too far into the story for that
