The stage B is in uproar, meanwhile at the stage A...
Their dealer is Silien, and the game they're to play is the same as the group B - bid poker. Before explaining the rules, each player is given an electronic tablet. They're asked to input their fingerprints in it, so every tablet is now usable only by their respective player.
Money to be used for the game is 300 gold coins (each coin equals 1 million), that is every player is given 300 million. But by the end of the game players are required to return only 100 million, so they can earn a profit of 200 million.
The rules of bid poker differ from those of ordinary poker in 3 respects:
1) One has to obtain their whole hand by bidding.
On tablets there appears a 'card set' consisting of 5-6 random cards which are labeled 'Item1', 'Item2' and so on. Bidding starts with A and goes from there on. When bidding is opened for the item you want you bid by inputing the number of gold coins you're willing to spend to get the card you want. The player who offered the highest price gets the card.
In the case when two or more players input the same amount of coins the rule is simple - the fastest one wins. Once you input your bid, chaging or cancelling it is impossible.
2) Changing cards differs.
The random card set will change 5 times. You're free to discard undesired cards, but you can obtain new ones only through bidding.
The proceeding is as follows:
1st set of cards is revealed (10 minutes) -> consideration time (30 minutes) -> bidding on the item A starts (5 minutes) -> announcing the winner who gets the item A -> bidding on the item B starts (5 minutes) -> announcing the winner for the item B -> etc
After the procedure is repeated 5 times, the game ends. The players will be ranked based on the strength of their hand. The strength of one's hand is determined in the same way as in ordinary poker.
In the case when a player doesn't have 5 cards by the time the game closes, they will be placed in the last place regardless.
In the case a player has 6 or more cards by the end of the game, they will have to choose 5 from them.
3) Scoring system.
The prize money (and debt) will be distributed according to the player placement after the end of the game.
1st place - 100 million
2nd place - 40 million
3rd place - 10 million
Last place - -150 million
Only the person who finishes in last will be eliminated. The rest will advance to Round 5.
If two or more players finish in the last place, the money distribution will be adjusted depending on how many people will come in last.
For example, if two players share the last place, then
1st place - 200 million
2nd place - 80 million
3rd place - 20 million
After the explanation of the rules is over, a small scaled mock game is held with 4 players. Nao volonteers wanting to search for some clues to the game. She says, "I have noticed a big trap in this game". The other volonteers are Kimura (Shortbob) and Mikamoto (OL).
