We have got threads for predictions for the next chapter and we got some threads about very specific predictions, but i don't think we have a long time prediction thread.

Sooo, here we go:

-Kurapica will be the one killing Hisoka, because Hisoka will fight him when he tried to kill chrollo. This might seem odd at first because Kurapica could want Hisoka to do that, but Krapica strikes me as the type who is dead set on making every spider involved into killing his clan repent and die himself.
Of course, this could also mean Hisoka kills Kurapica, if Togashi wants to go there, but i dont think so.

-There is another catch with Killuah's 'commands' for Alluka.
I think there is a negative long term effect on Killuah the more he uses the command ability. I think Nanica is connected to one of the calamities (ai) and nanika is not a good entity but actively tries (via alluka) to make killuah co-dependend.

-This isa somewhat unprobable one: Gon's nen will stay sealed until the end of the series at least. He will reappear but will have to rely on his other qualities and for the next time will be a backround character.
I think my second point will lead up to gon having to save killuah and having to do that without reliance on nen.

-Cheadle will be the one bringing down pariston, and pariston will win and possibly kill ging.
I really think that cheadle is built up to be that character.

-The dark continent will be focussed much less on fighting than we might think.
Most of HxH full fleshed fight scenes came from the chimera ant arc.
However, much like in the hunter exam and york new, intrigue, fighting against the environment (without flashy techniques, i mean :p) using your brain to survive will play a far bigger role than duels.
Furthermore, a lot of the things on the DC are probably just too strong to fight them and have to be tricked or evaded.
Meruem was possibly the first enemy of that type.

_________

That's it from me for now.
What are you predictions?

Think any of our mains might die?

2-Killua said he is not going to use Nanika's powers anymore. idk
3-Doesn't make sense. If you can't use nen in this world, even a kid like Zushi will destroy you with a simple punch..
4-I don't think there's a character capable of killing Ging as of today. He's ridiculously overpowered and a genius in so many areas
5-Dark continent has the potential to be the darkest saga of the series. As you predict it'll be based purely on survival
The creatures on the DC are terrifying, you can't do nothing against country/continent size monsters. Probably not even meruem would stand a chance there

My predictions:
-Gon trying to get his nen back (no clues on killua)
-Amazing battles betwen sides of the expedition, maybe we'll finally see what Ging is capable of.. Also hype for Botobai/Monkey/Beyond/the robot girl
-More battles on the whale ship (not as epic as the DC ones)
-DC killing a lot of people, not sure if protagonist
-I have the feeling of Kurapika dying soon

I hope Don Freecs shows up, that would be awesome, maybe he's the one helping gon with his powers

2-Yes, Killuah said that. However, when he tried to seal nanika Alluka hindered him from doing that and his family is more than capable enough of hunting killuah down if he does not use alluka's powers.

3-We do know that non-nenusers got rather far into the new world (the military of some contintents). They all died, but they didnt have the same powerful friends gon has. I can see togashi playing a trick. We saw the mecha in the newest bunch of chapters, a joint effort.
Possibly someone can use his nen to support gon without gon having to use his own nen.

4-I am not sure about the power of ging. He is insanely powerful without question, but i do not think he is the strongest fighter in the hunterverse, even with netero out of the picture. It's his intellect that makes him so powerful, and if someone can beat him in that area, it's pariston.

5-That is what i am thrilled about. I have never seen a shonen manga going in that direction. Most of the time you have a train arc or a time skip when they go into a dangerous area. But in HxH, it seems the only thing they can do is organize themselves as good as they can to evade most of the dangers located there.

_______________________________

About your predictions:

I also think that we will see ging fight eventually. I also think we will see the hatsus of the other zodiac rather soon in the next 10-20 chapters definitely in action.

I also got the idea that kurapica might die. But i really hope that is not the case.
For Kurappica to die after he was sidelined for so long, it'd be sad.

1) I don't see Hisoka being killed by Kurapika. But I can see Kurapika dying after defeat all Genei Ryodan members and I can see Hisoka involved. Maybe fighting Chrollo while Kurapika fight the rest or just grieving over the dead bodies and his lost opportunities.

3) Gon's nen will be revived somehow. What I think it is unprobable but imo would fit Gon's character would be Gon turning into a villain in the future, those kind of villains who do things for their version of greater good.

4) That would be a very good plot development.

5) Yeah, I don't know what I can expect from DC arc. Imo it is something too huge to be completed by Togashi in this life. Maybe we don't even reach the Dark Continent properly and everything up to the fail of the mission is resolved at the beach.

I think Alluka will die at a point, even though Killua said he won't use her powers,it won't be that simple. There'll be many trials in the DC and it's clear that fighting strength is not the only thing needed, hence the various teams and members, some are not even fighters but there will definitely be a lot of battles there. The four Calamities are already enough to wipe out armies in no time.

About Chrollo, I believe Hisoka met him while he was put on a bus, I don't know what happened between them but both are alive, I am sure Hisoka and some PT members will get on the boat too so Hisoka will have better fighters to challenge.

Typically i would say alluka won't die as it is a shonen. But with togashi i don't know, i think at this point, when he thinks s th is a good idea he will go through with it, even with things like killing main chars and noone can stop him.

I could also see Killuah dying for Alluka, but i don't know, it would be somewhat cheesy.
In general, it depends on what togashi wants to do with illumi. Illumi killing or even worse, controlling alluka could prompt a serious fight between killuah and him.

I think I have a prediction about Alluka's powers: They are not as limitless as they seem now.
For us, killing a human or several just like that is a big deal, but if nanika is really connected to a calamity, it is not, relatively speaking.
If the calamities are as powerful as they are expsected to be they are even a league above meruem.
In his last form, meruem could teleport, read minds from afar and was invincible.

Alluka's power so far did the following things: Killing, teleporting, materialising (or in the case of the plane, manipulating) and healing, while healing was the hardest one for alluka. For healing, she even had to touch the patient.

Besides the healing all those things are things a nen user could do, too, depending on his hatsu.

Even for the healing part, to some extent, some nen users can do it (biske, nen erasers).

Alluka's power is just so vast that it can do all those things with far greater force than humans can.
However, i doubt that alluka's power can dispose of a calamity. Maybe it could not even have disposed of meruem in his last form (but that is just specualation).

For a calamity, humans are very small things. Even chimera ants probably are. Thus, if they have a concept of nen, their nen pools must be insanely vast.

However, things lik e'alluka, kill brion' are probably not possible.

I think Leorio/Killua/Kurapika are invulnerable to death by now, because of Gon.
If he just gave up his entire life and potential for kaito imagine for one of his closest friends.
His head will just explode with so much emotions or he'll develop his inner Mazoku and kill everyone.
That's not healthy at all for the series/main character

I really do not think so.
Gon was not able to save Kite, and he would not even have been able to kill pitou if pitou had not let him transform.
Also, his nen is sealed, so he cannot do it again.

I agree that it would put the manga into a much darker terrirtory than it is already. We saw a lot of sideline characters die, exspecially in yorknew, togashi also had no qualms killing pockle and ponzu.

As i said, i could see kurapica dying, possibly. But killing leorio? That...would be really mean, right?
Killing either Gon or Killuah would mean the other would get into a state of grief and needs at least one arc to even get into the mental state to do anything again.
I do not think Togashi is going for that this late in the manga, it seems like that would just waste too much time OR is going to be at the very end of the manga (which would be kind of a downer ending, honestly).

It pointed to show that Gon liked Kite more than them, Gon is a Kite fanboy. Kurapika and Leorio at least won't die until they are used to the maximum, Leorio particularly, they've been put on a bus for too long. No one among them is close to die ATM since Killua is on a bus with Kurapika and Leorio as the main duo for now.

Another prediction:

We will have a stage of a lot of characters dying at some point in the DC arc.
A chunk of the zodiac, a chunk of the spiders, possibly other prominent characters like beyond or senritsu.

I come to that conclusion because togashi always did that when he introduced a bunch of new characters.

He killed a chunk of the people in the hunter's exam,
he also did it with mafia and body guards
with players in greed island too
And with people in the hunter election arc.

The only time it didnt happen was in the chimera ant arc (when it comes to protagonists and allys) and in that case, he didnt introduce that many people.

But he usually introduces people with hindthoughts in mind what to do with them, and since there is no way to do justice to all the zodiac, i am pretty sure that some of them are included to die or move the plot forward while doing so.
Same goes for a lot of beyonds team and other of the bodyguards we saw so far.
I am pretty sure he will show us how the stakes have been highered on the DC and that would be a good way to establish it.

Another prediction:

I think Jairo will make a move to take over keystructures of the hunter world soon.
It would be the perfect opportunity for him right now because all of the zodiac and a lot of the powerful parts of the organization are not there to stop him.

He and some other of his ant morphed followes can be enough to take over a country, exspecially cause he knows how to control paramilitary organizations.

I think Gyro is in contact with one of the princes actually. Something tells me he knows Luzurus or Zhang Lei.

That might be possible. He could use Kakin as a stepping stone if he is able to manipulate the winner of the deathmatch.

Also, if gyro wanted to bring destruction to the world, he is probably interested in calamities.

He might also stand in contact with pariston. It would suit pariston to support someone like gyro just for the heck of it and to see whether the organization can overcome him or not.

I'm not sure if we will see Gyro in this Arc. Depends on how many arcs there are going to be before this manga ends. I mean Togashi can't keep this on-off show going on forever.

Gyro is linked to characters from the chimaera ant arc, which was not too long ago (in-universe). I expect these characters ( at least Welfin, Bizeff, Hina) to be back when Gyro is revealed. The cast for this arc is already too large, I don't think Gyro and company fit in here.

Maybe. But on the other hand: Why would togashi include Gyro that long ago.

Jairo was first mentioned in chapter 203 and we are at 350 right now.
The chimera ant arc was not long ago, but it was insanely long.

After Jairo's rather enigmatic introduction without actually using him in the chimera ant arc, it seems like it is about time to do something with him.
Even if Togashi goes on by just mentioning what he does or let other characters mention him.

I mean, usually i would absolutely agree with your reasoning that we got too many characters already.
But began thinking that in the election arc already and togashi just kept them coming, so i would not put it beyond him.

I predict that zigg zoldyek is zeno's father and maha's fight with netero was about his son going with netero to the dark continent.

Another prediction: I think the the Kurta Massacre was about the book that killuah and Pairo got from the female hunter ( Sheila).
There is something suspicious about her. She came out of nowhere, had a book about a 'D hunter' (who is speculated to be don freeks) and kept breaking her own leg while falling down. I mean, as a hunter, you are not THAT clumsy.
She also returned to the village later (suspecting she is the 'female traveller'.
Why would she do that? To thank the boys? She did that, she gave em the book and thanked them.
I think she returned to get it.

To me, the message from the spider only makes sense if the book was stolen from meteor city and the spider was sent to go get it. The spider might have agreed to do it so they could steal the eyes while doing so, but we know that the spider don't usually leave that message. It's not like that this is their modus operandi in yorkshin.
She might have repeatedly broken her leg so that the boys bring her food and water and she could remain in her hiding spot with no fear of being sighted, even if the village got attacked.

[spoier]
[/spoiler]

The gesture the three make alone is suspicious. Sheila is like: 'Yeah yeah boys, you can look at the nice pictures but give me food and water and tell noone you saw me'.
She knows that the boys cannot take the book home and if she is halfsway competent, she probably faked her leg injury at some point and followed them to see where they hide the book.
And when she returned, she took the book with her and reported the kura massacre.

She mentioned she is no pro hunter yet. It could be that she was not even aware of how important that book was. But her actions speak a clear language. Someone who has nothing to hide would not hide in a cave, she would ask to be escorted to the village.
Someone who VERY SUDDENLY takes off with just a letter to thank them does not return to the village shortly after. She says she wanted to keep on travelling, which is clearly a lie when she returns.
It might be that she didnt take the book with her because she assumed she might be searched and wanted to keep it safe until the people hunting her retreat.
Maybe noone knew her face and thus without the book, she had nothing to fear?

Then the spider came to the village, assumed someone from there has stolen the book and searched for it, but found nothing.
Maybe they decided then, or maybe beforehand, to take the eyes anyway but leave a message so whoever sent them in meteor city was pleased.

Now, the last question would be what happened with the book? Well, if our assumption si right, it was either the journal of the east or the west.
Maybe sheila was succesful in recovering it and it is only due to her that the human world has any knowledge about the DC.
Maybe she was not succesful and the spider found the book after all, but i don't believe that.
Or maybe she was succesful but gave it to a source that didn't give the information to the treshhold keepers (the guys who investigate the calamity activity in the human world and handel the affairs with it) but use them for themselves?

So far, we did not see sheila in the election arc and kurapika never met her again as far as we know.
But Kurapika was not at the elction, so he could not have spotted her and probably does not connect her with the events (or he does but cannot find her?).

In any case, sheila is a big mystery to me. Her whole design and backstory seem to have more to it than one would first assume.

I predict that that the something will cause the Whale ship to sink and a lot of folk are going to die. The Whale will not reach the fake DC.

There will be a small group of survivors who will have no choice but to travel to the real dark continent.

the survivors

Queen Oito
Woble
Ging
Pariston
Bill
Leorio
Hanzo
Hisoka
Saiyu
Gel
Mizaistom
Benjamin

Everyone else will die.

Lot of people will die, but because of the succession war and the criminals on the ship. As long as they are not on the DC, I don't think Hunters will be troubled by an external threat.

I don't see the story coming to that route. I have to agree that there will be casualties but it would due to the succession war and not some force of nature or external threat. Most of the Dark Continent mission failed because they encountered the great calamities in Dark Continent, and not during the voyage going there. Meaning to say, I can confidently say that they can fend-off any external threat to their ship.

Actually I never said WHAT would cause the ship to sink. Just that SOMETHING will cause it to sink. Even if that something comes from all the shenanigans going on inside.

The only way I can see Ging even having a fair fight with Pariston would be if pariston had done some absurdly broken nen contract, that would allow him to fight properly against ging under the right circunstances, he did thought to himself how Gin as a person "triggers" him, that could be related as we've seen with kurapika strong grudges are very good motivators for haxed nen contracts.

But Ging would always have the upperhand because he could set that sort of stuff too very easily Pariston would never win the fight unless he has other cards to play, like use of calamities for instance.

Consideering the Ging hax whatever fight both would have it would resort in Ging winning pariston right now only has a grasp on a few grains of sand of the dessert that is Ging Freecs, he'd need some hax nen ability of the likes of Chrollo or Meruem just to stand a chance.
