Don't let fanatics try to turn this into Mihawk v Wild Animals means that Zoro > Luffy. It's honestly pathetic.

For starters, 18 months is a long time and we don't have 18 months of flashbacks for Neither Luffy or Zoro. We dont know if Luffy ONLY fought animals for that time or if Zoro only fought Mihawk during that time.

While better trainers yield better results, one would have to prove that Mihawk is a better trainer than Rayliegh (which cannot be proven). If Rayliegh felt Luffy fighting animals capable of withstanding G4 was good enough training to prepare Luffy for the NW then who are we to question it.

Where as the only thing we got from Mihawk and Zoro is that Zoro couldn't drink until he mastered Haki.... we have 0 idea at what point in the training Zoro actually was able to master haki... it could have been the next day or a year later. There is 0 evidence that tells us Zoro got more put of the 2 year training than Zoro... 0

Factor in growth rates.... Not a single person could say Zoro's growth > Luffy's growth. Far too much evidence to the contrary.

Its absolute bullshit to use Mihawk > Wild Animals as a piss poor arguement for Zoro > Luffy

Is this a shonen manga? Yes? OK, then Luffy will continue to be stronger.

There. Simple. It really is that easy.

There has never been any indication that Zoro is stronger. I'm sure his training was excellent. Luffy's was good enough that he learned to casually knock out thousands of fighters without touching them. Checkmate.

And most will probably be messed up by it since their defenses aren't necessarily as great as Kaido.

I think the implication is that Kaido is not more durable on the inside, so the damage would be similar?

Far more powerful. For who? Luffy. A barehanded combatant. Manga shows Rayleigh who possesses the same ability still resort to the sword.

There's no indication that a swordsman is stronger than a hand-to-hand combatant in One Piece.

For example, Luffy destroyed Arlong's sword with his bare hands, while Zoro was not capable of cutting another sword until he defeated Daz Bones.

It's more correct to say that if someone is more skilled with a sword than in hand-to-hand combat, they are stronger with a sword. However a skilled swordsman is equally powerful to a skilled hand-to-hand fighter.

1 of 6 shown the capability to both use and not use a sword in combat:Big Mom.

Of all tops tiers alive:Garp, Sengoku, Akainu, Aokiji, Kizaru(sword/non), Kaido, Blackbeard, Kaido - Don't use swords

Of all top tiers alive: Mihawk, Shanks, Big Mom, Rayliegh, Kizaru (sword/non) - Use swords

Top tier sword wielders aren't even in the majority in OP.

And only the greatest of fighters can fight against high tier weapon users and Luffy is already nearly amongst them.

Haki levels the playing field against every single type of combatant in OP.

Bad writing from oda, or maybe because whitebeard is considered as mixed style fighter
But he used a supreme grade so that means whitebeard is also a sword, or as you call it, blade wielder
