Oh I see. You're suggesting that he used non lethal ash on Mira, like "ash make" attacks. Hmm, that's possible, but it makes Skullion look retarded lolIt was a joke lol
Yea she said it here.

I just assume that if Mirajane isn't using something, it's because she wants to conserve power. If she doesn't oneshot Skullion with Alegria, then she'll be exhausted. I don't consider saying "Hiro messed up" as a valid explanation of anything.I generally agree with the comment.
But, Mira not even using Halphas or Sitri is just a screw up from mashima IMO. Unlike Alegria, Sitri and Halphas doesn't drain her fast. I don't think it's a stretch to argue that Mira using Sitri or Halphas would've yielded better result with Skullion.
Characters not using powers that would be beneficial doesn't necessarily mean that the author is implying "it wouldn't have made a difference". Sure, that's one way to look at it. But another interpretation (more likely IMO) is that the author screwed up by not having them use these abilities. I can bring forth countless examples: Zeref, the legendary archmage, not using timestop or countless spells under his arsenal and instead relying on punches against Natsu; Jacob not clapping; Acnologia not catching the freaking ship; Mard not using huge AOE thorns (like he used against CSK) against Natsu and Co; the entirety of August; Laxus not using Law to solo all of Hargeon since they were all on our below his tier; Jellal not using Self Destruction to one shot opponents on and below his tier; Ajeel against Elfman..... I can go on. These are cases which are provably possible, but didn't happen....the only explanation is that Mashima fucked up.
Even in Skullion's off screen fight, how did Mira get injured when we know that Skullion's Ash magic doesn't injure but turns what it touches into ash? Did he use some other "non ash" magic and he failed to connect a single ash spell? Or did the his ash suddenly change the way it works and started injuring instead of turning what it touches into ash?
The entire off screen fight was dubious AF.
No magic or curse in the damn series is outdated everyone’s still using magic from the very first volume LMAO. Every ability is as strong as it’s user. Next.Again I don't need to argue outdated stuff senselessly like you. Macro is outdated. Bring me updated feats or don't say anything lol.
I'll sum up everything here: Erza has the feats to beat Skullion (Which Mira doesn't) and stomp Gray. She gave Laxus and extreme diff so you saying he beat her handily is a lie.
Erza is on Laxus' tier. Mira isn't. Anyone that is on Laxus' tier (like Erza, Natsu, Gildarts) can stomp Mira. Erza can also stomp Gray. The Skullion fight has a bunch of question marks so that's not an argument.
Don't wank Mira. But that'll never happen huh? You do have a track record.
But she could've still used Halphas or Sitri right? I agree with your reasoning on Alegria, but the other two are still better than Satan Soul and doesn't drain her significantly.I just assume that if Mirajane isn't using something, it's because she wants to conserve power. If she doesn't oneshot Skullion with Alegria, then she'll be exhausted. I don't consider saying "Hiro messed up" as a valid explanation of anything.
Hiro portrays his fights the way that he does because that's how he sees it playing out, and his opinions are canon. If Hiro Mashima wanted to make Mirajane beat everyone, he would make her do it. If he wanted to imply that macro would no-diff all of her opponents, he would make her do it. People have been saying "macro oneshots" for years now, and Mirajane has had several fights. At some point, you have to look at the way Mirajane's fights are being handled over your ideas of how they should play out.
As for how Skullion hurt Mirajane. He kicked her.
Yes. The same basically applies. It probably takes more MP to use Sitri and Halphas than BSS, and Mirajane may have felt it wasn't worth it.But she could've still used Halphas or Sitri right? I agree with your reasoning on Alegria, but the other two are still better than Satan Soul and doesn't drain her significantly.
Nah dude, author fucks up.
Laxus could just sit somewhere in Hargeon and use Fairy law on the entire Port City. No enemy in the port City could survive law from Laxus' magic power, because we know that law can be work on mages on or below the user's level. Cast time isn't an issue here, since Laxus can just cast it from somewhere far away from the three Spriggans.
Similarly, Jellal can just cast self Destruction to one shot mages on or below his level, it has feats showing that the spell used by Jellal can one shot Jellal himself.
The entire August vs Gildarts was screaming retardation. As was Zeref vs Natsu.
These are author fuck ups, because we know that the scenarios I mentioned here are things which could've been done.
It's just that Mashima didn't think of this way or didn't bother anyway, but these are possible from what Mashima himself showed with those characters.
He kicked? Ok lol, then that makes Skullion retarded for not using his lethal ash magic to kill Mira. See? This is what I'm talking about, author basically fucked up here. There is no reason why Skullion wouldn't use it in Mira, he doesn't have any compassion for Mira that he didn't for Gray
You think she can tank a Black Ash?and she simply tanked or dodged them?
I assume that Zentopia arc was canon. Events of Zentopia were talked about in the manga (GMG arc); the designs of OS members stayed the same as it did in the arc, even though the arc came out far before OS got out of jail in Tartarus arc; Angel's new magic that came in Zentopia arc translated to Tartarus arc; etc.huh, wasn’t halphas considered non-canon or was that changed?
No clue. You think she can tank a Black Ash?
But Sitri and Halphas are shown to last through entire fights before. It's not like Alegria, which exhausts Mira after just one punch.Yes. The same basically applies. It probably takes more MP to use Sitri and Halphas than BSS, and Mirajane may have felt it wasn't worth it.
Saying the author messes up doesn't really explain anything. Honestly, what does it say when a power is so irrelevant that Hiro just forgot about it?
Dunno why Jellal would use self destruct though. I kind of assumed his other attacks are better.
Whose to say that Skullion didn't try to use his ash attacks on Mirajane, and she simply tanked or dodged them? Either way, you want to know how Skullion can damage Mirajane without turning her into ash. He could have kicked her. In fact, he did kick her.

It would still be more taxing than base Satan Soul. Either way the fight played out the way Mashima wanted it to. It makes sense to him. Saying that Mashima messed up doesn't really offer an explanation for anything. I could just as easily say that Lucy can turn any one of her opponents into fish with Gemini, and so the fact that she didn't solo Laxus and Jellal is simply Hiro messing up.But Sitri and Halphas are shown to last through entire fights before. It's not like Alegria, which exhausts Mira after just one punch.
What does it say about the power, if Mashima forgets it? Pretty much nothing lol. We know for a fact that law his Laxus' strongest spell. We know for a fact that Halphas and Sitri are superior to Satan Soul. It just shows that Mashima either fucked up, or didn't care enough to bother.
Because self Destruction spell, by it's nature, is a one shot spell. Unless the target is too strong to be used on (like awakened Nirvana, in which case the spell just simply fails), it straight up one shots the target unless it's cancelled before the circle is complete. We also know that the spell used by Jellal is powerful enough to even one shot Jellal himself; which means it's strong enough to one shot targets on or below his tier.
Yes, he has spells that are more destructive. But on single targets, self Destruction and bind snake are likely his best spells.
I wasn't doubting whether Skullion kicked her or not, I suppose it came out that way lol. I should've worded it better.
But my point is that Skullion literally has no reason to not use lethal ash on her; and I don't buy that Mira managed to evade all of Skullion's ash spell while Skullion managed to get several regular hits on her. If he didn't use lethal ash off screen, that makes Skullion retarded. If he did use, it makes no sense that Mira managed to dodge every single one of them, since Skullion seems to be >= Mira in stats as well
Lucy and Gemini fish isn't an equivalent tho. It's a non combat magic. Also, Natsu and co could break out of that form whenever they wanted to IIRC, so Laxus and Jellal would do the same. Maybe it can solo those below Lucy level, IDK. But it would fail on stronger opponents. It would still be more taxing than base Satan Soul. Either way the fight played out the way Mashima wanted it to. It makes sense to him. Saying that Mashima messed up doesn't really offer an explanation for anything. I could just as easily say that Lucy can turn any one of her opponents into fish with Gemini, and so the fact that she didn't solo Laxus and Jellal is simply Hiro messing up.
I don't consider Fairy Law to be Laxus' strongest spell now that he has red lightning. He's not using Fairy Law because it will drain his life, and wouldn't necessarily beat any of the Spriggan 12. And against allies, it's useless anyways. Why would Jellal use self destruct and hurt himself when he could just win his fights with other attacks? If Jellal is fighting someone on his level, he's much better off using Sema or something.
Like I said, we can only assume that Mirajane dodged or tanked any of Skullion's ash attacks. As far as Skullion's ability to hurt Mirajane without killing her with by turning her into ash, he could have just done that with hand to hand. Or Madmole could have done it. It's not really an issue.
Well, why can't it be used for combat? Even if they could undo the transformation, it would still take time. Transforming someone into a fish and then stepping on them is a pretty good tactic. Anyways, this is not the point. "Because Mashima messed up" is not a real in-story explanation for anything. It doesn't prove that Mirajane was restricted. Mirajane simply choose not to use her other takeovers for whatever reason. You can choose to accept my explanation that she was rationing and conserving her power, or you can come up with some other explanation. For all we know, Skullion's kick concussed her so bad she forgot she had other takeovers. But saying "Mashima messed up" doesn't offer any explanation why Mirajane was unable to use her other takeovers.Lucy and Gemini fish isn't an equivalent tho. It's a non combat magic. Also, Natsu and co could break out of that form whenever they wanted to IIRC, so Laxus and Jellal would do the same. Maybe it can solo those below Lucy level, IDK. But it would fail on stronger opponents.
Mira not using Halphas or Sitri is a different case though. If she can barely stalemate in Satan Soul, then using Sitri or Halphas would break that stalemate.
Fairy law is strong enough to one shot enemies who are at least close to user's level. Jose was holding his own against Makarov, he's probably >= 80% Makarov in stats. But law straight up one shotted him. Red lightning can't one shot like law could.
Self Destruction doesn't hurt the user lol, it's called "self Destruction spell" because it causes the target to self destruct from within, not because it kills the user. Jellal used it on himself because he was made guilty/suicidal by his past, it's not a side effect. He used it on a mountain in the past and he was perfectly fine after it. Sema is good against multiple opponents, but for a single target, self Destruction or bind snake (if he doesn't want to kill) is much better. Lower cast time and lower chance of failure (like the meteor being broken before impact)
How can she dodge them all, but couldn't dodge basic attacks from Skullion? She tanked lethal ash spells? That's hard to believe as well. Madmole was busy with Elfman.
The fight is nonsensical dude, which is probably why Hiro didn't even bother making it on screen.
We literally saw her dodge an ash attack but get hit by a kick in the same chapter. Either she dodged every single ash attack from Skullion the whole fight whilst getting injured in h2h throughout the fight or the ash attacks aren’t all lethal and Mira just tanked some and dodged the rest. Simple explanations. How can she dodge them all, but couldn't dodge basic attacks from Skullion? She tanked lethal ash spells? That's hard to believe as well. Madmole was busy with Elfman.
Mira didn't even knock out all of Wall soldiers lolMacro is not comparable to Kyria's strength-cutter to the slightest because Kyria has feats on it working on Erza/Laxus tiers, who are far stronger than Mira.
The strongest opponents Mirajane's macro worked on were Wall's soldiers.
I'm very doubtful on it working on Lucy, but I'll give her the benefit of the doubt, and say that does not get past Juliet and Heine.
