Discussion Mafia Game "Discussion" Thread v.10

Would be pretty cool for dead players to talk there. It's quite frustrating looking in from the outside and not being able to say anything. It's a really nice idea imo and I think those that play are mature enough to not abuse it.

I agree it would be nice to share our thoughts about the game, without disturbing it's flow. We could do it by PM, but having a thread, or some sort of discussion using a software would be cool. I'm not well versed in IRC, but aren't there private chat rooms ? if the channel is private we could talk between dead members.

yeah but pad is quite hard to control and regulate. irc, yeah too, can be considered. i wonder if there is an option to create a thread on vbulletin that is only accessable via url or something

I don't see why it would be any different than in the discussion...mostly townies anyway.
i've never seen a dead mafia tell on his buddies before...maybe in earlier games I didn't play...then of course that fucker should be banned from the site not just the game.

I'm talking about discussion between people who have already been killed....that's the whole point of this discussion

I think the point is to motivate people to talk about the game and still "participate" somehow, sharing thoughts and etc D: enjoying the hype. But in a way that it wouldn't be harmful to the game.

I understand that...my point was a dead mafia would be an ass to tell who his team is/was.
I think that's the only thing you would have to worry about besides like a det telling his result in the private/dead chat before he could have told them in the real game.

It's not like there's still stakes for someone who's already dead...so I'm not sure if that really matters

can you check if that can be coped for others to be used too. it's pretty inconvenient to outsorce that, even the mafia discussion on the pads - for a host almost impossible to regulate. i believe it could be so much easier, if it all would just happen on the forum

and more and more things happening extern would rise the question why anyone would need mangahelpers forum in first place

I can look into it and ask Pat maybe. I think there's an option to lock forums via password, but I think Globals/Admins/Techs might still be able to bypass it, which kind of defeats the purpose if members of those usergroups are playing.

please do. maybe it can be considered anyway, and maybe there are tools to regulate the entrance somehow, or have a record shown of who entered when, so that unauthorised mod players can be excluded from the game accordingly.

well but it does not necessarily need to be here. in the past ideas of instant chat based versions were rising, leaving this here only as rule refernece and recruiting.

Hmm, making the thread invisible and accessible only via URL doesn't work because people can just try thread ids one by one, going down from the most recent one and find the thread. Internal vB solutions don't work because admins will always have the power to manage threads/forums. Password-protecting a thread may be possible, I'll look into it.

Wow this game... I thought that of the remaining people it could only be either Faust or Lawl, but I didn't expect this. So it's either hardy, zasz or emperor Hakuryuu? I never suspected either of those.. It's all about the 3 of them now, who trusts who... This will be an interesting finale.
