I‘ve been told that several people are planning to host games, so to avoid any problems like people cutting into each other‘s game signups and other things we may need a schedule of games.
For anyone who plans to host a game, you can either write in this thread for what month/day you‘re planning a game or edit it in the schedule yourself if you can.
Note that there‘s no limit to how many games can be had per month, but try not to have 2 games running at the same time.
Sign-ups!
To everyone who usually plays MG or those that don‘t want to miss signups, we‘re testing a new way to alert everyone to a new game instead of mass tags before each game.
All you have to do is go to>>this thread<<and press Watch on the top corner of the thread. I or a host will post there and notify everyone like this whenever a new game starts.
While hosting overall isn't necessarily hard, it's very easy to mess things up as we have seen plenty of times already. This naturally happens more often with newer hosts.
In order to get these new hosts familiar with how the game works behind the scenes and make it a smoother experience for everyone (no one wants a cancelled game!), we are establishing these sets of rules that follow the methods that have been used in the last 50 games:
-If it's your first time hosting, it's MANDATORY to have the help of someone that has hosted before. As long as they aren't banned, it doesn't matter if this person hosted twenty times or just once. This experienced host will be the "Main Host", while the new one assumes the role of "co-host".
-Tasks will be split in a rather equal manner so that the Main Host can keep things in check while the Co-host gets hands-on experience to learn properly.
-The Main Host has the final say when it comes to decisions (ideally, this won't need to be enforced heavily, it's mostly to avoid possible issues).
Once the game is over, the co-host can host on their own and even take the role of "experienced host" for a new host in need!
Im going to end the phase right away, this is breaking the flow of the game.
So I'll proceed with kira's hostkill, I know it sucks guys, but its for the better.
DON'T YOU DARE!!!
Kira is active! He still got hours to reply a 3rd time! He has proven to written more than 3 posts every day so far. Just wait till he comes online and if he still doesn't post after pm'ing then kill him off but not like that.
@Lambu, can you please wait 2 more hours at least. He thinks the day will have 24 hours like usual so it's kind of unfair. He's usually on around that hour, so can you please wait just a bit longer?
Then don't f@cking like that shit when you're crying afterwards! Hostkilling is fine if somebody breaks a rule, doesn't post or vote enough or broke the game by telling everybody who's the Mafia by coming out but not like this, just for the convenience for the host! Yes, Kira broke the roles on day 3 but he might reasons for that and we still had 10 hours to wait before day 4 ended to prove that he again did not vote nor post enough to deserve the hostkill.

I know its not actually fair, its really hard to make this decision. But I also cannot keep the phase going for 12 more hours waiting for a vote or post that might never come.

The point is... he's not actually active. He got those 4 penalty votes on him for not posting nor voting last DP. And this one looks the same, I cannot drag the game like this for a single person that might not even taking the game seriously.
I know this would happen, and you have the right to be pissed James, I just took a decision for the sake of timing.
I understand that you don't agree with the hosts decision and you have every right to complain as long as it's civilized, but jumping at users because of a trivial thing such as a like doesn't help in any way.
C'mon, James. Kira didn't die for not making 1 post. He died for repeatedly lacking on posting.
Rules say that once someone gets the majority of the locked votes, the day can end. The hosts have to sleep as well and do you think it's fair to drag the day much longer just so a person that barely posted have the chance to escape the hostkill?
He brought it on himself with his past inactivity... don't pin in on the host something that is beyond him.
Following the rules literally then yes he couldn't close the day so early. But the host has the final say in many situations. Many inactives ruining the game flow are reason enough for the axe.
It's been 3h since he got hostkilled, he never showed up. In the end, those were complaints over nothing, just like the hosts would have had to stay up longer for nothing.
See? He would have still be on in time before day 4 ended. What pisses me off is that the other two inactives got two whole days, 48 hours, to maybe get back into the game and one of them never bothered to show up at all in the game since the beginning whereas kira was active, used his role and did post more than three times expect on day 3. Yes, he should have given the host a pm that he won't make it or something like that but still, hostkilling him 12 hours earlier and him showing up still in time a couple hours later just shows that it would have been FAIR to give him also 48 hours. It would have been even more fair to him considering he was more active than the previous two hostkilled combined. And that's how I want to play my Mafia games: Fair, not convenient for the host. If the host has to sleep pick a co-host who will be awake and has the worked out fluff post for when the day ends. If both hosts are the same timeline then just tell everybody that you will extend the day by two hours to when you wake up the next day, I mean it is not the first time the night went a hour longer or so in this game, why not do it with the day as well. Mafia games aren't quick, I had so many games where a phase was extended by so or so many hours, that's normal. Hostkilling somebody 12 hours before he should have been hostkilled and him showing up 4-6 hours later meaning he would have been able to continue the game by voting and posting three times in the last 8-6 hours left of the day phase just shows that it was wrong to hostkill kira.
Kira should be revived the next day and given one last chance and if he fails to do so again, voting and posting three times, then hostkill him. But till then ask him if he wants to continue the game or if that what kept him from posting enough on day 3 and anything on the half part of day4 is so important that he can't continue playing the game and if he wants to play, then let him. And if not, let him stay dead, but don't kill somebody off who was active, was inactive for one day and still had half a day to prove himself to be active again. Else we can just change the entire game and have the host kill anybody he wants to if he thinks it helps the flow of the game. And that wouldn't be playing mafia anymore where the actions and votings and postings (or the not existence of said posts and votes) of the players are what decides the game, not the hosts hostkills.
