I‘ve been told that several people are planning to host games, so to avoid any problems like people cutting into each other‘s game signups and other things we may need a schedule of games.
For anyone who plans to host a game, you can either write in this thread for what month/day you‘re planning a game or edit it in the schedule yourself if you can.
Note that there‘s no limit to how many games can be had per month, but try not to have 2 games running at the same time.
Sign-ups!
To everyone who usually plays MG or those that don‘t want to miss signups, we‘re testing a new way to alert everyone to a new game instead of mass tags before each game.
All you have to do is go to>>this thread<<and press Watch on the top corner of the thread. I or a host will post there and notify everyone like this whenever a new game starts.
While hosting overall isn't necessarily hard, it's very easy to mess things up as we have seen plenty of times already. This naturally happens more often with newer hosts.
In order to get these new hosts familiar with how the game works behind the scenes and make it a smoother experience for everyone (no one wants a cancelled game!), we are establishing these sets of rules that follow the methods that have been used in the last 50 games:
-If it's your first time hosting, it's MANDATORY to have the help of someone that has hosted before. As long as they aren't banned, it doesn't matter if this person hosted twenty times or just once. This experienced host will be the "Main Host", while the new one assumes the role of "co-host".
-Tasks will be split in a rather equal manner so that the Main Host can keep things in check while the Co-host gets hands-on experience to learn properly.
-The Main Host has the final say when it comes to decisions (ideally, this won't need to be enforced heavily, it's mostly to avoid possible issues).
Once the game is over, the co-host can host on their own and even take the role of "experienced host" for a new host in need!
I thought at least one person would mention the ''DM"' thingy in the game which should have been obvious but even so that wasn't the case and instead people came with the most weirdest idea. Gosh, I love townies so much.
I am not really sure if finding out that you are DM would have helped us to be honest. It was more general question. You mindfucked us for good anyway, lol.
Things could have went differently if you realised that in game, but probably most of the townie just went right ahead for her being mafia just because she's magi
He's been trolling so much by voting for me, needed to get him back lol.
But seriously I kinda went with him cuz of what happen last game with us, FOR THE GLORY OF THE MASON.
Before I hit my bed, I looked up the role list of the Speedgame, and just realized that Magi was a townie all along. Putting aside her damn troll, shouldn‘t more experienced players realize that there was something off, because there shouldn‘t be a plain Mafia Member in such a small game?
Or a Regular Townie for that matter, where there was even a Restless Spirit claim. I guess those are the kind of things that are likely to get missed in speed games. @Lambu, did you say somewhere what the tenth role was supposed to be?
Magi getting her trolling attempt solidified by showing as mafia, which she couldn't know with certainty... You're the most lel townie of all, @Purity of Magi /3\
But @syx getting lynched without a single vote on him was painful to see I believe mafia had won at that point no matter what happened, since five votes on him would have sealed the game like it happened regardless. Kinda his fault for choosing (?) not to vote, I guess, but I think the amount of penalty votes should be reconsidered for speed games...
What a wonderful conclusion to a wonderful game, truly =3=
I suppose you sort of got to act as a Recruiter this game and won thanks to that Keeping up that Mason spirit, such a beautiful thing

No gifs because tablet.
I didn‘t know about the DM before the reveal of the role list. In any case, Magi basically left the town the moment she entered the game. xD

Lambu let's be real, on a scale of 1 to 10. When I said ''just replace the player with me, I can post in the game'' and that you gave me this role. What were your first thought? XD

Well, after Holt‘s and Magi‘s (revealed as mafia) death, I was quite sure there is only one Mafia left. I actually suspected everyone, but I set my eyes on Asako because she only went for townies with her votekills. Then she votekilled me despite Magi‘s (who was believed to be mafia) attempts to lynch me several times. Later, Asako claimed she might change her vote because she doesn‘t want to get killed if I am revealed to be the vengeful townie. This statement of hers was fishy, because the general assumption was that there is only one mafia left, so she had no reason to change her vote. That‘s how she became my main suspect. I didn‘t mention that I was going to get lynched, because I thought I could end this game with my one shot ability.
I got lynched and chose Asako. When she posted something along the lines like „congratz you won, maybe“, I was sure I got a mafia, but I also realized that there is one more mafia left, much to my surprise (4 mafias?????). Later it turns out that I had no knowledge about the DM, and completely missed the fact that a townie got recruited. Welp. Killing a mafia as a townie was super fun nonetheless.
What I truly love about this game is, even if you are let's say claiming a ''certain role'' and giving a ''solid'' reason so called which was quite flawless at points (even it is a troll attempt and just having huge fun with fooling around), people would still go for a lel lynch for whatever reason (see Xad case XD). Not to mention the many other things that just happened in this game after my dead and some ''fun theories/ideas'', it made me lol so hard. That kinda proofs once again why townies are the best. Literally mission accomplished.

Maybe if people went for my double lynch idea, it could have ended faster. ~=3=~

Yeah, I think you did as good as it could be expected in that situation during last day. It was just ugly to see you get lynched by the system even if nobody voted for you
Like I said, since there were three townies left, two mafias, and three votes on you, Gry and Asako could have just locked on you, pulled a Lambu and killed Pompom on N4 like they did. Those penalties sealed the town's fate, which kind of sucks.
But yes, killing mafias as a townie always feels so rewarding I don't think I've ever seen a Vengeful Townie get lynched and kill a mafia, too, so that was doubly cool in my eyes. =3=/

That story you had on syx was so good If only they had listened to you and lynched him, with him then killing you and seeing you as mafia, it would have been even better

Xad's case:
- Claimed vanilla.
- Then that he could "blow Magi's candle", which looked like killing in my eyes.
- Then that Asako was false.
- He got Innocent on her, tho, while her fake result (Innocent on me) wasn't conflicting.
- Lied about getting an early reply on his result (although, at this point, after the game is done, I'm leaning towards Lambu making a mistake and delivering the results too soon fully demonstrating to him the game had no blocking roles).
- Lied about knowing about Holt.
The dude is always all over the place, plays like a troll, then acts like he knows what he's doing and like it's perfectly reasonable when it's just a sequence of fuckups that mines people's trust on him. He really stood out like a Traitor to me, that wasn't aware that a real traitor now can't win as a townie (in the past, that was different). He demonstrated in the previous speed game that he's not up with the changes the game suffered. I'll insist till the end he brought it on himself - specially in a game people barely have time to reply.
In this case, on his defense though, I don't think that sharing his results would have helped him. I bet he was lying in the post he said he was writing as well.
So yeah, in spite of how solid your case looked, his wasn't pretty either. Which is annoying 'cause that costed us the game o/

Fair enough. I can understand why u went for him. At least you aren't someone that would say something like that you "understand" someones intentions without even knowing what the person truly had in mind or truly even knowing its play style in the end lol. XD

Oh I knew, but I didn't wanna point it out Same with pointing out that either of the 2 missed kills are from someone being "recruited" Farf could've said it about Magi but she got "put to rest". Left were 2 inexperienced people, 2 mafia not wanting to spread it(Asako didn't know the role I think), and Bia who did really well and mentioned the recruitment as a possibility. But with Magi making like 3 confession posts it makes sense anyone would think she really was mafia. A mafia member without a role is a rare thing, but it can happen. Especially since game is continuing and there "are 3 mafias".

There are many reasons for a missed kill. Even if you were the real prostitute and blocked a random person that doesn't mean you prevented a kill or that guy's a mafia. Farf protected the kill night 1, night 2 was missed from a recruit. It's very risky to follow something like that. Same if a Doc came out and said "I protected X guy and no kill happened, so he is obviously a townie". It is possible but far from something certain. But I too am surprised they went with Xad instead of syx Day 2, was sure he'd be dead by the time I was back. Your troll would have worked normally, but with Xad doing a spaghetti claim he just outmemed you slightly =3=

Do you wish to spectate?
We have a big chat on Discord (650+ members) for those that want to spectate and talk about these games. The representatives will be added to this channel too after they die. Or if you just want to chat with people from other communities, we have a general chat too that is unrelated to the Mafia Championship.
2) Tag one of the red or blue people in the chat (write @Thingyman or @staff for example), let them know who you are and from what community, and they'll give you the necessary permissions to see the spectator channel. This is necessary to avoid the wrong people (the representatives and their backups) joining the channel.
You don't need to have Discord installed in order to join the channel, as there is a web version.
Do you want to have your own private community spectator chat?
This is definitely both allowed and encouraged. However, I ask that you please do everything possible to make this chat private and inaccessible to your representative, backup and your representative's opponents. It's important that your thoughts and comments don't influence the game. In other words, please don't post about the game in public threads -- this is very important.
This thread will tell you all the details about this season. It also includes the list of participating communities and their representatives.
