I feel Igneel is indeed stronger than Mercophobia full or half. I mean Ignia would have been a fodder dragon if Igneel hadn't been a powerful and Ignia mocked Natsu for not being able defeat Mercophobia even when he is foster son Igneel. Igneel is strongest dragon bar Acnologia. He is the only person that damaged Dragon Acno that was not PIS or CIS.

But back to topic Mercophobia is definitely as strong as igneel cause he was not just at half of his power but was also not in his consciousness and as you yourself just said in FT consciousness would make a vast difference in terms of power

Yup. Which is why I don't think he was anywhere near as powerful as he was in a healthy state and not being mind controlled.

Other than the hype of Pentadrakes being comparable to Acnologia (which Igneel actually proved to be), there isn't any proof that they actually are comparable to him. Especially if we're talking about Mercuphobia that repeatedly implied he was weaker than the rest. Not to mention he was beaten by Natsu with only seemingly minimal MP from his brother.

He was impressive in his own right via shrugging off attacks from all of Team Natsu empowered with the Dragon Slaying Seal though, I just don't see that being enough to beat someone who could go toe-to-toe with Acnologia for 20 minutes (my memory's a bit fuzzy but it was somewhere around that ballpark) and tear off an arm.

So unless we get more feats in the future (which I highly doubt), someone that was beaten by Natsu with Ignia's flames just don't present himself like someone who could win this..

Well my point was even if he's extremely weakened he still did some awesome feats like lifting an entire ocean spaning for over thousands of kms and made all the attacks from natsu and gang useless
All these in a extremely weakened state so in his full power which is far far beyond from what he has shown so definitely he should be stronger if not stronger then should be as powerful as igneel

We know for sure that Ignia is stronger than Mercphobia because a single attack from Ignia had enough power to make Natsu strong enough to beat Mercphobia. Mercphobia actually tried to put out the flames with his floods, but the flames left over were still enough to make Natsu stronger than Mercphobia. The attack also didn't fully destroy the city of Elmina, which was well within Ignia's capabilities as he was known for destroying countries. Even accounting for the fact that Mercphobia was at half-power, this level of dominance is just too much. Ignia is not even personally fighting as a dragon, with the physical strength, claws, and teeth associated as one. If Igneel was at this level, then he's probably stronger than Mercphobia.
