Well, this is not the Arhurian Mythology and Demons don't have resistance to the DK's curse. I am not saying that she is a Demon or a Goddess but her resistance to curses this powerful is probably related to the Goddess clan.

Indeed, the commandments being actual pieces of the demon king's power indeed does make merlin's ability to resist them even more remarkably. I would guess this means that merlin is basically empowered by something with power comparable to the demon king or supreme goddess. It's not that weird an scenario considering we have seen plenty of beings who are empowered by others. King is powered up by the fairy tree, zeldris by the demon king, escanor by the sun, giants by the earth... With that in mind it's not that big a stretch that merlin would draw power that granted said immunity from something or someone else.

If the Demon King created curses that are extremely powerful and only allow two options to escape them then it isn't unreasonable to assume that the Supreme Deity has the power to create something that can resist them? I had a theory a while back which included that since the ten commandments had curses which affected everyone around them; that the four archangels would have ''blessings'' that would counter-act the curses and stop their effect - hence why both clans were equal in power. For example, Gray road's commandment to kill anyone who commits murder in his presence would be stopped by a blessing that prevented anyone from dying in that archangel's presence.
It was just an idea but Merlin's resistance must be linked to a higher person; who I would pinpoint to be the Supreme Deity - since she is the only one so far who is on the same level of strength as the Demon King.

If the Supreme Deity blessed Merlin she should be immune to the decrees. Not just have a resitance to them.

At the risk of nitpicking, anyone should be able to hear her name. The issue as I understand this should be saying her name which is a beyond human feat. No clue as to whether fairies or giants would be limited in this regard. We can't rule out king or diane being unable to say her name being simply because it's the first time they hear the language.

what if Arthur's the 4th archangel? I mean why else would he be Merlin's (who is given powers/blessings/special gifts by the demon king and SG) only hope? What if he was reborn again after the holy war? Current Elizabeth (with her memories back) or that asshole archangel hasn't seen Arthur yet so it's possible. Meliodas probably knows but is keeping it a secret because it could have triggered Elizabeth's memory to come back?

It just occurred to me that Merlin, way back when, was all for awakening Elizabeth's powers when the story was still about defeating the 10 Commandments. It's pretty funny in hindsight.

There a difference between waking up her powers and her memories. (Also they thought defeating the commandment would be enough to break the curse..... for some reason.)

Going by what we know now, Elizabeth fully mastering her powers would have probably lead to her quickly recovering her memories, without the assistance. The way it was presented in Mel's flashback, it seemed the memories quickly followed as her powers got stronger.

So... do we have any idea of what species merlin is from? We know belialuin is a place now and she was apparently born there however we still don't know what the sages were. Apparently they were humans? That sounds odd for some reason. The sages seemed to be fairly sophisticated people when it comes to magic however references from humans back then seem to suggest they were more primitive than nowadays with a fair margin. I guess they could have been a weak human like clan that was annihilated once they made enemies of both demon and supreme goddess...

I think this could support a previous theory but still a far fetched one. She might be a Niphilim, hybrid of a human and an angel that gives an offspring of a human soul and angelic grace. No decent support really about this but shes calling Elizabeth as her big sis thar could be a good start but not quite.
