Summary: Set right in between the timeskip and the Filler saga. Team Kakashi and Team Gai have to work together to keep a band of pirates from destroying the Hidden Mist Village. But what is the Dead Man's Chest? Why are the pirates so powerful? And how long can Kakashi and Gai stand working together?

This complient kinda late too, (I am going around reading fan fic just for the sake of enjoyment).
I just finished chapter 1. It pretty good so far. And I must said you captured everybody's personality quite right. OH, men, I was hoping this is a cross over bw OP and Narutard since you stated "this is not a cross over" so I just assume this a cross over.

Interesting nonetheless, I will read on to chapter 2 now.
