But you implied it when you said reviews tell the truth better than an individual's opinion.
A review IS an individual's opinion.

Overall rating is the total of multiple individuals' opinions. A lot of people could have given Dragon Ball Z 5 stars for nostalgia and because it was the only anime they've seen while a superior anime could get lower rating because it's lesser known or not suited to people's taste.

I'm sorry but it's hard to beat Dragonball Z when it comes to Shounen and I've seen A LOT of anime. In that particular genre, only Naruto could catch it.

Define "beat".

I'm not trying to say DBZ is bad, but its extremely overrated due to nostalgia. If it came out nowdays it probably wouldn't even be half as popular. I'd rate part I and even first half part II Naruto way better, but I guess as a whole DB and DBZ would take the cake because even though there was a severe drop in quality after the Cell Arc, its still not as bad as Naruto with this terrible war arc that seems to drag on forever.

DBZ's "shell" is used in various mangas and animes today, Naruto being one of them. Two rivals with the rest of their fighting friends in a battle from someone who's trying to take over/down the world.

Nowadays, it's hard to beat Dragon Ball Z due to nostalgia factor, but that doesn't mean it's better. IN terms of pure fighting, sure it's better. But Naruto has had better plots than Dragon Ball Z. DBZ was about beating bad guys and fighting. Naruto was about a boy working hard to gain acceptance and be recognized by winning fights, which wasn't about pure strength. You also had complexities involved, like whether the business of shinobi was good or bad, whether Zabuza and Haku were really evil, whether Gaara should be considered a true villain, etc.

In so many ways, Naruto was and is far superior to Dragon Ball Z and Hiatus x Hiatus. I'd consider Yu Yu Hakusho and Dragon Ball to be better, and to be more enjoyable than Naruto in terms of action shounen. Naruto out of the four (can't talk much about HxH) has more grey areas that add interest to it.

FAR TOO FEW as it seems. DBZ is far from the best shounen series and Naruto is just as far away from being anywhere near the best series. You know which is better when looked at objectively, One Piece, Slam Dunk or GTO, likey easily far better. :P

And I'm also pretty sure that Toriyama didn't create a formular, he just made it popular since it was so successful.

Can a series be objectively better than another? Especially when you compare GTO and Slam Dunk to OP and DBZ or even Naruto.

There are a lot of topics we can discuss, but you have to want it. There's an official disappointment topic in which those who don't have anything better to say other than to rant same shit they did last week, they could do so there. Why bring the general "suckage" in every chapter and thus put the front line of what this week's discussion's gonna look like?
There was only one thing of note that was available for discussion, and it was being discussed before the talk about negativity. And there is no "general" suckage... Out of the first page of posts, there were only two complaints, both speaking about the chapter itself. The rest of the posts all spoke about the chapter favorably. There were no "THIS MANGA SUCKS" or even "NARUTO IZ TERRIBLE CHARACTER". It's perfectly fair for people to point out what they disliked about the actual chapter. That is hardly putting fourth negativity on the front line.

You don't get it, every week is like that, not just this one. You think I brought negativity up because of 2 complaints in the discussion? I don't care about the complaints honestly, but I do think that they affect a lot of people who may want to post but don't want to because of that reason.

Because we get a new chapter every week and a new debate starts?

I fail to see a reason why someone shouldn't be allowed to point out dissatisfaction with a chapter just because he already said the same about the previous chapter...

Thats the same as saying "why do you have to point out you liked this weeks chapter?? you already liked the last one... no need to repeat yourself.

Besides, there will always be complains. If I like a chapter then someone else will hate it and say so... and maybe he'll like the next chapter which I in turn deem shitty. Different people, different opinions. You won't get a 100% complain-free chapter discussion no matter how much you wish for it.

The problem is that the dissatisfaction is generalized every time. People usually don't give constructive criticism and explain what exactly they didn't like in that chapter, but instead they say that it only sucks since the war began or since part 2 started etc. That's a bit redundant and repetitive.

That's not true. Members say the chapter sucks, and then give a reason why they think it sucked.

I thought this chapter sucked because to much talking was being done. Others thought the chapter was great because of all the talking..

I actually agree with this, but I rarely see this kind of post. Again, what's stopping people from talking or having another topic to discuss? If people don't to talk because of negativity or whatever, then that's on them, not the poster. Pretty sure no one bashes anyone who brings up different discussion or isn't negative.

I may complain, but I also discuss other topics if need be about the chapter, at least if someone brings it up. But, it's hard to find topics to discuss when it's usually the same thing that has been done a chapter or two ago. We could talk about Naruto, Sasuke, Shikamaru, hokage, and all that, but it ends up in an argument with members like SupremeMod making up stuff like "omg Uchiha fanboys!" or whatever. All sides are guilty at lack of activity because they argue or get quite hostile, and because they let negativity scare them away from posting.

Just because of the few, you can't make assumptions about the rest. And it is true. There are people who constantly enter the thread discussion and state their negativity for like 10+ consecutive weeks. I can understand that you don't like where this manga's headed or how Kishimoto envisioned it, but to diss every chapter, shit, that's a bit weird. Also, I didn't mean to turn this into a drama, I just find it hilarious.

If the last ten chapters sucks, what the problem with stating ones opinion about it? Ten chapters receive ten differen opinions.

If ten consecutive chapters have a problem worth mentioning, it should be okay to discuss them too. I could say that we got too many cliffhangers over the last couple weeks, like every single one from october had one. Seems problematic since no real tension is build up this way. We knew talk no jutsu would come up and it did again and again and again and again with this chapter crowning them all.

It's not that Naruto had one or two problems this year, it's the cluster of TnJ, no real consequences, retcon/Deus ex machina, plothole creating backstories for already existing backstories. Kishi has shown that he doesn't have it under control, ended up making Naruto more child-oriented than ever before[Zombies, not real humans that die on the antagonists side], power up after power up and all those parallels.

I agree about the cliffhangers, we've had them far too many in this war and each one killed the purpose of the last. Even if the talk no jutsu is something we're all already bored with, you can't say that this one with Obito was the same as any other. This particular one is different to me because Naruto seems more composed and trusting in his own words. It's like he's really guiding him towards the right path. The depiction of it is different is what I want to say, so we can at least find one thing that's good about it.
