Naruto never had formal taijutsu training so his clones weren't as helpful cept to be fodder or ninjutsu vessels.
Where you pulled this out? All ninjas at the academy do formally train taijutsu, he may never had more advanced or specialized training, like Rock Lee or Neji. By the end of the series, his Taijutsu was considered on par with Sasuke's according to the databooks.

Well maybe. If he does well, he might be able to strike normal vital points on an opponent. Chakra points or not a chakra blade to heart valves will slow most people. Plus he is one of the only people with recessive byakugan (as in not genetically active) so he might still be more visually sensitive to chakra flow and might be able to affect if not stop it. Plus he can augment gentle fist with lightning chakra to increase his speed and the damage. And can you imagine a gentle fist rotation done with rasengan level control + lightning element?! Factor in his nearly infinite chakra reserves as an Uzumaki and you have yourself a horrific hybrid gentle fist user. Not even factoring in him slipping shadow clones in his combo and weaving rasengan between blows. Naruto never had formal taijutsu training so his clones weren't as helpful cept to be fodder or ninjutsu vessels. Bolts would actually serve a close range purpose. Getting hit on 4 sides by quick and furious gentle fist strikes would ruin most days. Or being sandwiched by 2 palm rotations?
There's a lot of potential for Bolt, true, but gentle fist with Byakugan is efficient because you literally disable your opponent's ninjutsu. You can close in with a light palm strike because of that assurance. If you don't have that assurance (no Byakugan), then doing the same is more dangerous because your opponent can make a counterattack using ninjutsu. Even if you hit their vital organs, they might still be able to launch some jutsu before they fall, especially if you don't hit exactly the right spot.

In short, the risk is much higher without the Byakugan. Without it, Bolt would basically move like Kabuto had in the fight against Tsunade. Deadly, yes, but not without risks. Kabuto took huge gambles fighting against Tsunade like. Bolt's realistically going to be limited to Kaiten, twin lion fists (if he masters that), and other options that don't allow his opponent to counter easily.

Who said Naruto wasn't trained in taijutsu? Everyone trained in taijutsu in the academy. He just didn't specialize in it.

My bad. I ment he never specifically trained to be effective in hand to hand. Just enough to get by and relied on his durability and guts to make up for it. His taijutsu was never notable is the point i was trying to say. Not that he has 0 skill. He is just so blindingly powerful his taijutsu negligence doesnt matter.

And the risk you named is true of all taijutsu. Cept a vital point orientayed gentle fist would give the user an edge in exchanges i feel like. If he uses lightning to move in a fashion similar to the raikage then. He'd have an edge on more traditional taijutsu users. And if he moves with speed that is typical of lightning users then blitzing enemies in a cloak of lightning like the raikages is insane. Let alone if bolt actually learns flying thundet god from Naruto.

Maybe I just view gentle fist like chidori. Both are really powerful techniques that come with risks that are only mitigated by some other advantage. Chidori was so wild and erratic that Kakashi avoided using it in battle until he got the Sharingan, so he could read his enemies attacks without missing the details during his attack.

Without the byakugan, Bolt can't place his attacks so that they're one-hit victories. The difference is that a byakugan user can close the distance and totally disable the opponent. Bolt can close the distance but may or may not disable his opponent. That's the risk. If he screws up, he'll wind up patting his opponent to no avail, putting himself at risk for a counterattack.

But yes, if Bolt had the ability to move like lightning, then using gentle fist would be less risky. Yet that's the point. He needs something to make up for the fact that he doesn't have the eyes to make the most precise, effective attack.

If the kid masters Juuken without Byakugan, he is indeed a beast.
I don't think he'll master it, unless chakra nodes are at specific points of the body no matter whose body.

If the new spoilers and the scans of the one shot are true, Himawari has the Byakugan, so Bolt could have it too.

It be cool if Bolt didnt. Right now Himawari is posturing to be a great shinobi. Maybe more potential 99% of the village. Not to downplay Bolt at all, in fact im glad for her. With all of Bolts S ranked jutsus and him being a hard core prodigy, i though the little sis was gonna get left in the dust. Hinata's plot relevance aside, she was always one of the best female shinobi in terms of combat. I never liked how down played the Byakugan was until Kishi needed it to become OP for the sake of Kaguya being scary, maybe this time 360 degree perfect xray vision with ability to predict and calculate enemy actions will be as useful in the plot as it sounds on paper.

As far as I understood, with Kishi's mistake in drawing the white eyes on the 700 chapter, the plot device he created for Naruto's children is that they have to awaken Byakugan and it seems that at the actual state of affairs is that Himawari already awakened hers and Bold didn't, but given Kishimoto's preference for doujutsu characters, I really doubt Bolt would not get it sooner ou later, he just likes too much to make over the top characters.

Death parade(or Billards) for life.@Youngace

He will live for sure. Kishi received death threats just for pairing hinata and Naruto. If he killed off Naruto... Good game. He might actually be hurt. However, if he did it'd be tragic ... And ballsy. I'd hate the development and love it at the same time.

Other than anger a lot of fans... What good would killing Naruto do for the franchise and story?

If we're talking pure emotional sympathetic character death. It would be the murder of the century. More tears would be shed over the death of Naruto than any other random. And it'd deliver what any other family killing story line delivers. Hasty Maturity for the MC(Bolt) emotional connection to the plot (bolt getting revenge) presentation of competent threat to mc. A shock to the leaf village who is used to peace which could set up a more complex reaction that would lead to renewed conflict in the shinobi war due to the break down of the strongest village/peace keepers.

Not saying Naruto should die or that i wish for it. Itd just kick the series in the tail and get a new story buzzing if he did.

Toriyama managed to kill off his own protagonist, Goku. Unlike the Naruto-verse, however, the DBZ-verse showed characters in the afterlife frequently, so they didn't feel quite so "dead." If Kishi kills off Naruto, it won't be like that.

Maybe Kishi might be tempted to end the series for good and stop coming out with so many awful plot developments, but he would leave it off on a worse note than I'd ever imagined.

Is there really a reason to think Naruto would stay dead if he did actually die? Kishi brought back a ton of people with Edo Tensei. Far more than was actually needed or necessary. Both Oro and Kabuto are still alive and while Kabuto seems somewhat reformed, Oro is still clearly into experiments and apparently doing it in some legal way considering how Sasuke and Naruto interacted with him. Oro obviously wouldn't pass up a chance to get his hands on his very own Rikudo type breed. We even saw Haguromo appear and bring back souls from the dead to give him chakra and we certainly can't forget that Sasuke has a rinnegan as well. Tbh, there are quite a number of options here so if Naruto does actually die, pretty sure he wouldn't stay dead. Not like Kishi would ever attempt that though.

Honestly, for a while I figured death would be the way to go for Naruto. The way I saw it, Naruto would gain an understanding that the title of Hokage is just that, a title, and what truly matters is the well being of the village. Then he would sacrifice his own well being for that of the Village and then he'd die a hero. Unfortunately, none of that happened. To me, it still never came across that Naruto figured out the true role of a Kage before the last chapter.

It could swing either way. I'm not claiming to predict anything. It could be as you say. If I had to think of reasons that Naruto would stay dead, I would recall how every character important to Naruto wasn't brought back often, if ever. Minato came back a few times, through visions or edo tensei. We saw Kushina once. We never saw Jiraiya. The more emotionally meaningful the character is, the less likely it is that they'll come back.

Why would Naruto die? There is no purpose story whise in him dying in this movie, it doesn't even make much sense. I think Naruto can even die eventualy, but much like Sandaime, a public death defending the village in front of a new generation that are already ready to start picking up the torch and carry on. the new generation is just not ready yet and Naruto's term as Hokage haven't come to fruition too.

Naruto dying isn't a bad idea, honestly, but it should be only after the next generation gets popular or loved. Problem with Dragon Ball Z was apparently no one was as loved or popular as Goku, or the editors wanted Goku (from what I heard, dunno if it's true), so Gohan never took up the mantle. If Bolt, Sarada, etc get great development, then Naruto and/or Sasuke dying shouldn't hurt the series so much.

I'm still convinced Goku should have stayed dead with his son taking up the mantle of hero and not becoming a pussy.

Because people grew up with Goku, they didn't grow up with Gohan
Anyone reading Dragon Ball and then following it with Dragon Ball Z will have difficulties not seeing Goku anymore

Regardless, it was dumb to keep Goku and squander Gohan when he could have easily taken up the mantle. Plus, there was a generation who grew up with Gohan as well.
