Very tough choice. I'm leaning on Natsu because of Dragon Force, but can see Gildy winning too. Might take some time to think about this...

For now i'll give it to Gildarts, but if I see decent arguments for Natsu I might be inclined to change my vote because it really could go either way.

I think that we could all agree that Natsu with fully charged power of friendship is unstoppable. However, if Gildarts can knock Natsu out before Natsu can use friendship to emotionally charge his flames, he wins. Keep in mind that it took Zeref threatening all the people he cares about and about 4 speeches about friendship, family, and the guild, before Natsu was able to reach the power that took out Fairy Heart Zeref

I gotta go with Gildarts. He's got far more experience, power, and skill. He can crash any of Natsu's spells and can take a lot more damage than Natsu.

It really isn't that simple. It took Natsu 13 chapters, about 4 speeches, being resurrected from the dead, and Zeref threatening his love ones before Natsu was able to use friendship and emotions to reach that power. If he could do that right off the bat then Zeref would have got one-shotted way earlier

Gildarts has topped Natsu several times throughout this series. Even if Natsu somehow becomes more powerful, Gildart's skill and experience outweighs Natsu's power.

It really isn't that simple. It took Natsu 13 chapters, about 4 speeches, being resurrected from the dead, and Zeref threatening his love ones before Natsu was able to use friendship and emotions to reach that power. If he could do that right off the bat then Zeref would have got one-shotted way earlier

That was due to plot.Here he will not be restricted like that.He will start in that mode.Moreover in his DF he blew up Zeref's whole body-a feat that even Igneel powered Natsu couldn't do.

he no diffs but I'm voting for Gildarts.

That was due to plot.Here he will not be restricted like that.He will start in that mode.Moreover in his DF he blew up Zeref's whole body-a feat that even Igneel powered Natsu couldn't do.

If anything was due to plot, it was Natsu suddenly getting the power to take out Fairy Heart Zeref. That doesn't change the fact that it took 13 chapters and several friendship speeches before Natsu could use emotions to charge up his flames like that. Unless Gildarts randomly starts threatening Natsu's friends in the middle of the fight, Natsu isn't reaching the level of power that he used against Fairy Heart Zeref.

PoF isn't to be brought up in a tournament thread. In fact everyone in the tournament should be in the same mindset: winning at all cost and bloodthirsty.
I'm going with Gildarts, though this is a high difficulty.

Keep in mind that Zeref is also the biggest pussy in Fairy Tail and had little to no fighting experience or skill despite his power.

I think it's gotta be Natsu here, mid difficulty. With Dragon Force, he takes Gildarts out with a FDK's Demolition Fist just like he did Zered. I don't think Gildarts could crush that power.
