The gifts you are suggesting (that voting and posting) is a BS, imo. I liked the gifts James wrote .. but not like it matters nobody gives a damn about what I say
Okay, while you guys dicuss barkeeper, Blind Santa Claus/Santa Claus and Drug Dealer, can I get some attention to the new Mafia rule I have in mind? While I heard some say they didn't liked it, I also heard some saying they liked it so I did some changes in hopes to make it more likeable for those who didn't liked it:
Injury Rule
An injury is like a block remaining over time, it heals itself after 2 phases when it got received. An injured player can still vote and write comments, but do not day and night actions in the phases he is injured. Doctors and Nurses can treat injuries for the player to do his actions again.
We can add the 4th sentence that the GM announces who got injured (and healed) in the updates as if it was a kill to avoid confusion as who is injured and who isn't.
Basically an Injury is like an extended block which a) can be prevented similar to how kills can be prevented by blocks or protection and b) can be treated by doctor and nurses in case of a) not happened and c) can heal itself overtime if a) and B) didn't happened.
Basically a blocker that can block day actions as well and with that be a problem to Mafia assassins but also lets say townie vigiliante as they have to wait to be healthy aka not injured again to do their actions.
The Idea behind this is that people need to work more together and talk more together and that the Mafia has some way besides the escort to block people. Because from what I have seen the past games the Mafia is underpowered, a 2nd blocker where'sa chance that the block remains for 2 more turns if the player is left untreated can even the fields a bit. And ofc the Townies get their own injury role as well.
Inury roles
Hooligan (townie)
Night Action - beats somebody up thus injuries his target. If killed at night he will injury his killer.
Mafia Brawler (Mafia)
Night Action - injuries somebody at night. Cannot kill if he goes out to injury somebody. If killed he will injury his killer.
Mad Axeman (Third Party)
Night Action - MUST attack a player every night, 50/50 chance to either injury or kill his target. Wins the game if he kills the amount of people that the mafia has in their team and survives till the end of the game.
3 roles that creates Injuries. Now to the roles that can treat Injuries:
Sane Nurse /Townie)
Night action - Can only treat injuries, when targeting somebody who is not injured she will change the kill into an injury if said person was the target of a kill. Will cancel out Injury night actions used on her target as well. If she treats a doctor who is not sane, his action will be treated as from a sane Doctor. Does not know her sanity.
Insane Nurse
Night action - Can only treat injuries, when targeting somebody who is not injured there is a 50/50 chance she will injury her target. If treating an injured player, there is a 50/50 chance the injury stays. Does not know her sanity.
Naive Nurse
Night action - cannot treat injuries nor change a kill into an injury. Does not know her sanity.
Extra role to make more use of this rule:
Conartist (Third Party)
Can once per game kill a player at day to steal his role and take it as his own. The killed player's role stays hidden. If killing a Mafia, Conartist will be killed instead. If Conartist gets injured at night, his real role will be declared the next day. Wins if he stays in his role till the end of the game without being found out. Always seen as "Guilty" if investigated.
Conartist is basically like a onetime Pirate with a Janitor kill. Since he acts at day everyone will always know that the someone who died with the ??? got his rolestolen.^^
Bodyguard and Doctors would have to get a little change according to the Injury rule.
Bodyguard would survive if he protects somebody but be in an injured state till treated or healed himself over time. And in that time he cannot perform actions.
All Doctors should be able to treat injuries, yes, even naive ones, that way being a doctor is always useful even if you find our your sanity. We can still discuss this matter ofc and treat insane doc like an insane nurse chances to treat injuries as well as let the naive one be like a naive nurse as well.
Bodyguard (Townie):
The Bodyguard may pick a person he wants to protect each night. When this person is attacked by someone, the Bodyguard becomes the target instead. (GAME 31) The kill gets changed into an Injury for the Bodyguard if he protects somebody succesfully.
Sane Doctor (Townie):
The Doctor can "save" a person per night phase i.e. He will PM the host during the night phase and can request to save a player. That player then cannot die during the night phase. (GAME 1) Can treat a person's injury to make him healthy again.
Etc.
I wouldn't want the rule to be in the game the next game, but perhaps we can try it out in the game after the next one to see if it does spice the Mafia game up and make it more enjoyable to new and more active roles as well as having another status to look out instead of dead and alive.
So what are your thoughts about this new rule?
Interesting?
Insane?
Both?^^

New suggestion:
Mafia Janitor (Mafia): The Janitor cleans up the body after the kill. Janitor gets told his target's role. (Game XX) When Day breaks, the Town would not learn the victim's Role. When he gets killed the Town also gets to know the other players Roles. (GAME 6) The ability only comes into play when the Janitor is the killing actor. (GAME 23)
This way the Mafia will get a bit easier way to disguise themself better if they know through their janitor who died as they could form plans like having their escort act as the prostitute if they happen to kill the prostitute at night 1, which would make the game a lot more fun.
But the new one was short! It is not my fault it got added to my 7 asses long post! ;A;

Mafia Conartist (Mafia)
Can once per game kill a player at day to steal his role and take it as his own. The killed player's role stays hidden till the COnartist dies.
Or if you find this one-time Janitor/Pirate mix not good enough, a couple changes to make him a third party:
Conartist (Third Party)
Decides which role he wants to have at day 1 per pm to the GM. Can use skills of his role but skills will have no effect. Wins if he stays in his role till the end of the game without being found out. Always seen as "Guilty" if investigated.
Mafia Lawyer (Mafia)
Can at night either slander a person, person will appear as guilty if investigated by detectives or cover for a Mafia member who will appear as not guilty if investigated by detectives.
Could the treasure be like a Mafia noble then? So that the Mafia can try to manipulate votes a tinsy winsy bit more? Like people get told they got bribed and that they lost their right to vote for this day as the Mafia treasure can use it to vote for them then?
Is that more acceptabel?
If not then we might wanna add some new rule to get some new roles, as I said before an Injury rule could change future Mafia games for the better:
Injury Rule
An injury is like a block remaining over time, it heals itself after 2 phases when it got received. An injured player can still vote and write comments, but cannot do day and night actions in the phases he is injured. Doctors and Nurses can treat injuries if they target the injured player.
Ok, I'm not suggesting a new role but rather a tweak to an existing one. The innocent child is basically a plain townie that can be confirmed by the host but that's all there is to it.
Wouldn't it be better for there to be some repercussions to killing the innocent child?
Perhaps if killed at night, the killer cannot kill the following night. Then maybe if lynched at day, the last voter can't vote the next day.
The idea being that killing a child normally makes one guilty so something happens the next day. However, repercussions do not affect roles. The killer can still perform night actions as long as it doesn't involve killing, same for the last voter.
Thoughts?
