This is like the same argument have always used against Brady - "well when you have a line that can block and receivers that can catch...."

So offensive efficiency is being held against someone who doesn't have to throw the ball 50 times a game, but still led the league in passing TDs? I don't care how good of a running game a team has, you're not throwing for 30+ TDs if you "can't throw".

But no one is shutting down the run, so it's really not that simple is it? The passing game is mostly underachieving because of line troubles, I already touched on that. Passing offense is often not even worth mentioning as as measurement over scoring, the top 5 passing offenses belong to teams that are a combined 12-24, with Seattle being the only winning team. Passing numbers are inflated in garbage time when they don't matter.

No I'm saying it's the same sort of stuff people say to discredit them. They have a balance attack and he can make plays with his legs, if you take that away from him he can't play. It's circular logic. Having bad games throwing the ball is not the same as saying someone "can't throw". Dropped balls count as incompletions, turnovers are sometimes out of your control. He's won many games throwing the ball because of of him being a multi-dimensional threat. I did not claim he was the best passer of the ball in the league, but to say he can't throw... you're blind or not watching the games.

There might be a handful of teams right now who wouldn't take Jackson over whoever is currently on their roster. You're not reaching that sort of status as a QB if you can't pass the ball.

I agree in the sense that I think Jackson isn't really the problem, mostly. He's got the skills. Though to be honest, he feels a lot less scary than somebody like Flacco used to be. Because Flacco was a big game quarterback. Until he washed up he so reliably played his best games when it mattered most and the competition was the hottest. Lemar Jackson's playoff record is 0-2.

Which isn't all his fault obviously. He hasn't had the best pieces around him on offense. But from the perspective of fan rooting against him the offense he's leading does not scare me.

I'm not sure what else to call it besides choking, but yeah, so far this team hasn't brought it in the playoffs. It'd be different if they lost close games but they got rolled the last two years. I'm not ready to read too far into that though. Comparing him to one of the clutchest playoff QBs to ever play might be a bit unfair though, lol.

And Eagles have the hardest schedule the rest of the way. There is a very real chance that a 5 win team will be in the playoffs and it could be anybody.

I almost can't believe they're actually going to go through with this Steelers Ravens game. The injuries were crazy enough for them and now covid on top of that. On a short week. Pretty much with any playoff hopes on the line too. This is just the year from hell for the Ravens. The act of god rainstorm last week. Now this.

Only positive there, if Lamar actually gets it done this could be the signature win for him. Because he's really all they've got this time. They need this game and he's the only way they have to get it.

Not really sure what a three day delay will do if positive tests keep cropping up, but it's on Sunday now.

I feel like that's the right move. At least for now. I mean, as things stood it wouldn't have even been close to a fair game. Compound all this with it being a short week it's just a recipe for disaster.

Sort of sucks for the Steelers though because we lost our original bye week to an opposing teams covid situation. Now we lose a 10 day break for the same reason. Just luck of the draw but it blows from that perspective. But it's a hell of a lot better than playing a team that's too close to positive tests to fully verify who has it.

By Sunday they should at least have the full picture and know if this is something the teams can play or if they need to tack on an extra week to season and play this then.

Provided that they have enough active players to play, the game should be played. If not then it might activate that 18-team playoff contingency that doesn't include bye weeks and I don't want to see the team blamed for that. I mean, there's already conspiracy theorists saying Harbaugh did this on purpose...

Those people are nuts but that's conspiracy people for you. Always seeing patterns in just random every day bad decisions and bad luck.

But if the Steelers lose their actual bye, their week and half, AND their first round bye in a year where they are undefeated there are going to be some Steeler players and fans that will be absolutely livid.

Best case they just play it out. Ravens are getting boned on that front. But in this situation somebody is going to get it. But they can only do that if they have actual players. RG III is the last QB on active roster that's not on the Covid list. That's really not good.

The real shitty side of this for the Ravens though would be if they do make them play this game with no players or forfiet it or something. And then a few weeks down the line they are forced to adjust the schedule anyway because Covid is a bitch.
