That was the funniest spot I've ever seen

What were they even doing?

The spot was clearly a full yard forward of where the ball was but where they spotted it looked like it was past the chains and 1st down. So what should have happened was they should have ruled it a 1st down then checked the spot, moved it back and overturned it. Instead they put the ball there and pretended it wasn't past the chains. Weird.

I'd really like to know why it seems like every game we play against an NFC team is broadcast on FOX instead of CBS... I thought it was supposed to be split evenly between both networks for inter-conference matchups. FOX is just vastly inferior production-wise unless it's Gus Johnson.

Steelers do get CBS a lot. And Tony Romo, which is nice, although I'm as confused as you are why that would be. Ravens, despite the triage situation, are still the division leader but for whatever reason they put the best people on my team who play exactly 1 quarter of offense every week.

CBS gets AFCvAFC games, FOX gets NFCvNFC games, and like I mentioned, I could have sworn that of the 4 inter-conference (well 5 now... ) matchups, the networks were supposed to split those, but it really feels like that wasn't the case this season for the Ravens. None of the games against the NFC North this season were primetime games either, so that's not skewing it either.

Romo and Nantz are the A-team for CBS, so they get the marquee matchup. It's the same with Buck and Aikman on FOX. But they also do Thursday Night Football this season too, so it's a bit much...

Can I just say I really hate how Ravens QBs take hits. I hate when Lemar does it. Now this Huntly guy is doing it. You're a QB, your team has a million injuries. Slide. In most situations you lose maybe 2 yards. Your team need them uninjured.

I can't speak for Huntley really, but RB jokes aside, Lamar is the best ball carrier to ever play QB, so he knows how to avoid that shit I guess.

Fair catch interference... yeah, this will go down in history as the strangest game ever played. I really doubted people invoking that 48-3 drubbing of the Packers on MNF by Kyle Boller but they were right. It's destiny now.

That's exactly what it is. It's Big Ben PTSD. At least Lamar is impossibly athletic and defenders pull up now more than they used to.

But Ben's thing used to be that he just wouldn't go down because of how well he shed tackles. He'd just tank it until the defense broke down. All because he couldn't read defenses for crap. It wasn't until much later in his career he learned to be a pocket passer. Too bad by that point he'd piled up so many injuries. Sorta hope Lamar could make that transition without the injuries.

Steeler fans are getting a bit crazy with replacing Ben. Half of them think paying Rodgers a billion dollars to come bring his diva self to Pittsburgh is a good idea. Half of them are eyeing up every QB in the league that wouldn't or shouldn't be traded. Why would the Ravens trade Huntly in division? Doesn't make any sense for your team.

A trade wouldn't be involved since he'll be an ERFA after this season since he's on a 1 year deal and it's not his 3rd season yet. We basically would keep him if we offer him a tender, which seems like a no-brainer, but if Jackson sits for enough games and Huntley keeps performing well, maybe his salary could be too much to pay? Idk, perhaps not but yeah.

Idk what the Steeler's cap situation is like, probably decent since you have so few older players? But I guess signing someone like Huntley to compete for the job makes more sense than paying out of the ass for Rodgers.

I can kind of understand wanting to protect them from getting hit low or landing on top of the QB (even though that's a tall ask for many players), but if you're not doing any of those things, or hitting the QB in the head and the player ends up on the ground.... how can that be considered roughing?

4. Not landing on the QB
5. Not a horse-collar tackle
6. Contact isn't "late"

New rule you have to yell positive reinforcement. That TJ Watt video was him yelling "GOOD JOB!" "YOU'RE HANDSOME!" "EVERYBODY LIKES YOU!" I'm sure that's why he didn't get a penalty.

We had that call because of terrible rules and then the next series that block is somehow a low block penalty on the Packers even though he hit him above the waist.... absolute clownery

I'm not watching the game closely but I assume it's Rodgers getting officiated by Brady rules? Where the league treats him like fine china. As opposed to how they treat big/running QBs, which are treated more like to disposable plates.

Kinda conflicted.... everyone keeps bringing up "analytics" when the real analytical choice would have been going for 2 when they were down 2 scores. We lost 2 more starters this game, one of them being Tavon Young, our only remaining "starter" in the secondary (Nickelback, but in today's NFL that might as well be base defense) from the beginning of the season. Going for it isn't bad, but the playcall was far worse than the one in the Steeler's game, that Watt just blew up. Huntley was throwing darts to Andrews between the hashes all game, so they make him roll out to the right and remove half the field when it's already shrunken due to it being a 2PT play. Roman should really be told to start packing up his things.

But on the other hand, playing more football means anything can happen. Crosby has been shaky as fuck this season kicking field goals... I get that relying on the coin toss to have a realistic shot is shit, but idk

Speaks for itself. Sort of sick of seeing snarky Packers fans act like they don't reap insane benefits from terrible calls on a higher than average basis. Kinda sympathize with fans of other NFC North teams now.

Green Bay had not scored in multiple possessions. Rodgers in OT isn't what you want to face with all those injuries but the defense was getting it done. Take the extra point. If you win the coin toss you got Tucker. If you lose it all you need is one more stop which your defense was doing effectively all 4th quarter.

Between this and where he went for it early I'm starting to suspect Harbaugh may have a gambling problem.

We stopped them before we scored the TD, yes. But they scored on 5 of their 8 possessions.

Tucker doesn't help much on the first possession since you need to get into the Endzone to end the game.

But I still feel like I'd rather lose in OT than this...
