But even though this is actually rather old information, I don't think this interview nor any other insight into a Mangaka's job, especially Oda, would give them any bonus, as some other mangaka already published his schedule while working on a story for a popular Shounen Magazine.
People who read their manga for free and illegally
as Edited Manga only and just annotate negatively about pace, length or breaks/hiatuses don't have anything like patience or empathy - so there's no need to waste one's time with it. They just want the manga's arc to end right now and develop the way they expect and want. That is indeed a simple pattern to "criticise" - but it can last as long as those long-term stories go on and is easy to pull out from week to week.
One Piece, Fairy Tail, Naruto, Bleach, Dragon Ball - they all had to face this. Both Shingeki no Kyoujin, Toriko and any other long-term story that is about to follow them up will suffer from this, too. You just have to observe so-called fanbase forums - which is what I'm going back to do now again.
