No, I would say based of data Edahns description it was a difference of opinion. As you can clearly see Gustang views anybody not an irregular as a “insect” or “bug”. While it was stated by dE that V never viewed the people of the tower as below himself or any of the original 12.... That’s the kind of man Gustang is and V doesn’t fit his world view. But I doubt he would have fought V as V was probably the more skilled combatant.If that happens, I think it will be due to Gustang saying Bam's father was the worst person he ever met.
Bam will inherit the grudge between V and Gustang from his father. "Sins of the father" passed on to the son.
Fully powered Baam would wreck Gustang. As would have V, immortality or not. Zahard was powerful but V killed himself, goes to show he was no pushover in the least.
He may have liked Arlene very much and therefor is actually on Baams side. He may blame Zahard more for his daughter being sealed and used in his game.
