Well, we barely saw any of their fights so far, obviously at the start Zorro and Sanji had to look like they were in trouble, since we just got the Gods Knights powered up and with super weapons...but again, Zorro and Sanji are just that strong, they weren't going to be beaten just like that. Plus, Zorro was trapped and Sanji didn't really seem like he was winning, Killingham just started his villain speech about "Haha, they stoopid for trusting you" and then gets kicked once, doesn't exactly seem like Sanji beat him here. That he is drawn with white clouds doesn't really tell me anything, for all I know it's a coloring mistake. Also, come on, Sommers was a joke since he appeared, his whole point this arc (and at God Valley) was to see this overdramatic evil ass get beaten up by everyone, I never thought Zorro was in any trouble even with Imu's powerup.

But then again, that is just how I see things. I will wait for the chapters that actually focus on their fightsd, to see how they go. To me, the hardest parts about their fights is stopind the Gods Knights regen with Counquerors, which Zorro has almost managed. Sanji will most likely get there too, especially now that the giants are helping with Zaza.
I'm not really fighting the idea of the two of them being strong. And I don't want you to misunderstand; I don't really disagree with the basics of what you're saying.
What I'm questioning is the point of suggesting a reality that is far away from the truth for the purposes of a cliffhanger. Execution, like I said.
I think it's arguably cheap. There is no point to imply a wildly different reality than the one we got, other than getting readers interested week-to-week.

And I can see in the way you write certain things that you've been swayed.
For example: "Zoro was trapped."
No, that's not what is implied. Zoro actively stopped fighting to start thinking. Iron vines, when Zoro can cut steel and scale, were never a threat. He wasn't trapped; he let Sommers put up vines because he was so not-pressured he could apply more thought than he did against Seraphim-Mihawk. That's different. Why are you trying to give Sommers any room to stand on when the chapter presents a different reality? You said he's a joke, and you're right; dont give him accolades he didn't earn now.

The white clouds could be a coloring mistake; I agree that's likely. But that, in and of itself, is weirdness that you have to assume is a "mistake." If you have to be prepped for a mistake, it's because what you're seeing doesn't make sense. Because otherwise, the color of the cloud implies something about Killingham's current state.
The reason you don't see weirdness is that you chose to ignore what the chapters were saying, and you were right to do so.

I don't disagree that the hardest part is the regen, but we already saw solutions. What exactly is stopping Zoro from cutting Sommers up in six pieces of limbs, torso, and head, and then tossing some off the boat and into the ocean below, and keeping the heart with him? The separate-the-body solution worked for Sanji until Imu showed up, so it's viable. It would be a sophisticated solution. It would be really cool if Zoro held onto the heart, got to Gaban, and had Gaban cut it. Yeah, not as cool for Zoro, but if Luffy was in real danger where every second mattered, this would be the right solution.

The reality is that at this level, with this much disparity, there's nothing stopping the body separation solution, and in doing so, it would allow both to go after Luffy faster. It's wild that you have both Jinbe and Franky just watching the situation, wondering if they should help. But that, too, is a sign of the possibility that the fights are already a wash. None of the characters are acting with urgency because Oda already knows they're not going to get punished for it. It's overall going to be a victory, even if it's a 60-40 victory.
And the regen situation is now one where you actually have many more reasonable solutions for it, beyond just Conq. But I understand it's more significant for Zoro to discover that he's been using Conq this entire time when he doesn't think about it.

Zoro should just cut him up, remove his heart and take it away for aCoC practice.

The Spoiler thing about Luffy turns out to be fake. But like G4 in Katakuri fight, he is able to now detect his G5 limit.

Am I supposed to be impressed by Zoro and Sanji beating bums twice ? I mean…
I mean it IS impressive that they got buffed by their master but they STILL SUCKS, lol. 🤣 Imagine being soo hopelessly bad that you're still able to fail even with help from someone MUCH better than you. I bet even if they SOMEHOW survive this Imu will give them Saturn treatment for bringing shame on him. Oh, honestly it's even worse than that. Imu even let them use his magical weapons that were gifted to him by first "20" on top of buffing them with omen and they are STILL struggling. Against one guy that just discovered he awakened conqueror bit earlier and the other who tries to awaken his during this very fight. Just how bad those Knights are if they survive only because they are immortal?

As far as I can tell zoro did not consciously or otherwise use conqueror haki this chapter. He probably never realized that his king of hell techniques were using cladding.
Yeah, I'm sure he did once he realized what was required to keep up with his swords demands. I'd check that one, bud.

And what does him using before this chapters moment mean exactly? Maybe I'm missing something, but I'm pretty sure zoro is aware of CoC. Not fluent in it, but definitely aware enough to do what he's doing now
--- Double Post Merged, , Original Post Date: ---

Pretty much. Competence aside, once he figured out you could imbue it into attacks he did it immediately. That said, it's also worth noting that luffy had awareness of it and could consciously use it since the timeskip started. Whereas zoro has never even consciously made fodder pass out. Add to that sanji who has not even accidentally used it.

I've been wondering about the steel hearts... Maybe it's not destroying the steel heart per say that kills knights but rather whichever else is within. As in, not specifically a flesh heart but something else that binds the contract between imu and the knights.
--- Double Post Merged, , Original Post Date: ---

gotta say, it's a bit annoying that 80% of the reason the arc happened as it did is that zoro went to screw around with luffy to lower elbaf. If he had simply been above then he could have easily released the children from the thorns. Meanwhile people like jinbe, dory, brogi and the rest of the strawhats and giants were literally unable to interfere with them. Zoro is just that much of a monster compared to everyone else.
Also, Cannon or not Zoro def made some folks pass out already. He's been goated

And obviously Luffy has had to learn most of his current techniques through training and get smacked in the head too much to even hint at it being intuitive. Zoro had a aha! moment and let it rip. So, i'd still equate headspace in this

I'm getting the feeling this battle is being dragged out now, from Loki's hybrid form being shadowed to Biblo.

I do wonder if the Box has something to do with that hidden Ancient Lab.

Sommers face after Zoro almost stabbing his heart was so satisfying, he looked like he was shitting himself.

I know how you feel, it'd be more impressive if they hadn't been defeated already.

Yes. If done properly, but their powerups here...even I thought it was kind of bland and I feel like I am one of Oda's biggest defenders here. At first Imu giving them a sensu bean infused with Hody's steroid pills...that was cool but then you realize it was just that, a pokecenter heal plus steroids. Not very creative even if the art looks cool.

The issue here is that the immortal gimmick is just overused now. If that wasn't such a big gimmick it would be a lot more meaningful but the exposure that us readers have had just make that seem like a lower bar to cross. It all just becomes so underwhelming.

I will still enjoy Zoro's fight, I always enjoy those finishers but it won't be very creative because we've already seen countless CoC cladding and we already know. Know. Not expect. Not think. Not predict. We all know that Zoro is gonna produce a CoC cladded finisher soon. It's a very Zoro thing and basically his next step anyways.

Sanji's fight though? I can see a saving grace here and if my prediction comes true, Sanji is gonna straight up diable jambe melt Killingham's iron heart. Would it not be so awesome for Sanji to reach that level of heat generation? Like gtfo Akainu, you might be hotter than Ace but will your magma burn hotter than Sanji's heart in the end? Lol. Oh yeah, he also unlocks CoC but that shit can sit the hell down on the sidelines while he uses his heat mainly. Like goddamn, Sanji someone just happen to see the king's disposition in you and all of a sudden you unlock CoC just like that? Okay sure. Sanji can do that. He's very gifted so he can do that. But then being able to immediately clad that shit right after unlocking? He shouldn't have that, that is some Luffy main character lvl unlocks. Sorry Sanji. But if Sanji melts Killingham's heart, now that would make his fight waaay more interesting. Oda can save Sanji's CoC cladding for later although it may be an even less effective plot device because by then CoC cladding would be even more diluted.

With this all said, I really think and really hope Oda gives us (sooner rather than later) more defined reasons/ways for an individual to unlock CoC. It is bullshit for a pro vet like Gaban to be able to tell any given person, hey you're pretty confident but yo something is holding you back, fix it and you might unlock CoC. So CoC is just lineage + unrivalled confidence? Damn I might unlock CoC tonight. I hear I might be a decendent of Ghengis after all LOL.

I might have a perspective on this that you might find interesting, Titanium. It has to do with what the strawhats were focusing on, and it fights the idea that it's main character stuff.

Fundamentally, the basis of my argument for saying it would be "okay" for Sanji to go straight to cladding is that Sanji has to do something cladding like when he ignites his legs. Because he has a bias with wearing an energy form on his feet, it would be easier for him to do it, in theory.
Zoro, meanwhile, was already cladding his swords in conq. So there was already a precedent for non-luffys developing the power after a few panels. Though I will add that the aid that Zoro had in cladding was probably Enma drawing out his Haki so often.
But yeah, I think the character's own proficiencies biased them to certain altered ability pick-up rates.
In another line of thinking, Zoro already doing Conq cladding to the point his body is growing accustomed to it kind of neccisates that Sanji pick it up easily, to continue the idea that they're rivals.
Im really excited to see how Sanji thinks about it in upcoming chapters. If he chooses his own unique solution, I'd be happy too. Heart-melting is worthwhile too.

I don't think it was bullshit, though. Many of us were speaking about the disposition of a king and genetics for years before Gaban reiterated it. That was just the reality of the situation, and Sanji is the son of a West Blue conqueror. Gaban said it was just another stroke in the column for that portion of readers. If anything, Gaban actually might have been there specifically to clear this up for people who hadn't accepted it or noticed it.

It's just getting to become the default. Something else aside from CoC cladding should be involved to add some more excitement. I'm not saying I won't enjoy it if all Oda does is give Sanji CoC but I won't be as excited if that is the only new power so I guess I am projecting a bit of fanpiece with my ideas.

It's okay to not enjoy the simplest solution; I agree with you in that arena. I'm always hoping for more unique stuff too. I think it's natural to want that to some degree.
Even if Ifrit Jambe or Asura were linked to Haki, I think it would be cool to get exposition on all the different forms Haki could take, if we were to go down that line. I'd take diversity of Haki expression over apply conq haki to everything.
I think one of my favorite moments in One Piece was Brook having a unique answer to Big Mom. And I'm still hoping for those sorts of unique interactions that gives a character an accoldae.

I think I cannot comprehend the blurriness of the reddit translation but if history is any clue or guess, Luffy will feel like he is dying. That was what happened on the rooftop with his duel with Kaido. The drums of liberation heartbeat can come back.

I didn't bother reading the rest. Will wait for high res but I do have a few thoughts on Zoro's and Sanji's battles.

One of which is, is CoC really required to defeat these guys? It just seems like CoC is the answer here because it is what gives the attack more oomph to destroy the iron heart. But could we not have more oomph without a "stronger punch"? What I am saying is sure, Zoro is probably going to merc Sommers with a direct blow. Sanji though? All roads seem to lean towards him unlocking CoC. Maybe he might. But I think it would be way more interesting to see Sanji generate so much heat that A. He vaporizes ZaZa with his kicks and B. He melts the heart with the kick. Sure CoC can play a role here but if Oda sidelined the CoC and based it on a higher level of skill aka heat generation, it would vibe with the audience in a much better tone.
Could be - but I don't think Oda will do it - if you look closely- Zoro actually hit the iron heart in the right spot- but still was unable to pierce it - i think that Imu coated all those things on his own CoC, like Harald and Xebec did while fighting

Well... they are not bums - they are just not on the level of our boy - but even so, they showed in this whole arc how dangerous the G.K really are, so not, definitely not buns - bc even probably they being the most weak among the G.K they still almost destroyed Elbaf with 3 people.. a place that even Younkous wont dare to mess !

My question here is: If Gaban, Ray and other members of Roger pirates have ACoC, why they didn't kill these GK before? They never tried to stab they in the hearth using ACoC? I consider this a very strange coincidence...

To me it looks like several God's Knights from back then (God Valley times) are not around anymore, so I guess they might have been taken out by the Roger Pirates.
Naturally pure speculation from my side.

You know, since Sommers said that Gram gets longer and stronger as he gets angrier I wish we could see him being soo scared that his sword actually become tiny. That would be hilarious. 🤣

Zoro need to master the basic before adcoc or else he's cook.

While luffy's easily figure it out as eating it with kaido attack but its obvious because conqueror are his specialty.

Yamato are stronger than this temu pretending adcoc user zoro.

Zoro is in a weird spot. He has in fact used cladding before however he literally never noticed or suspected it. He is THAT clueless. On top of that he hasn't even used his willpower to overpower the will of the weak consciously either. Like his cladding he did it without noticing. And it's not like zoro can't feel conqueror haki, he has identified it on the spot before like when luffy used it at fishman island to delete half of arlong's army. And the sad part is that all zoro has to do to use conqueror haki is simply pour all of his power into his blade. Next time he does it he is probably going "wait, that's cladding? Lolz" and then just overkills sommers.
