This chapter really feels redundant but also really enjoyable.. If you were to switch Zoro with any other character , fans would have gone crazy.
One interesting thing, Maki is the counterpart to Conquerers Haki?! Is that translation correct??

He's most likely speaking from experience and he can't teach what Zoro couldn't access.

Given Sanji's particular journey, Gaban's comments towards Sanji, and Rayleigh's explaination all those years ago, awakening Supreme King Haki is a personal journey and can't be attained by simply training.

Mihawk could only teach Zoro the "theory" and Zoro was finally able to put it into practice after he realized he awakened it. Showing Zoro would've probably been pointless at that time.

It sure does seem that way but it is not explicit. Sommers just say it is demonic aura.

The thing is, for me when Zoro coats his swords in the king of hell mode and it is surrounded by flames, it looks a little similar to the flames created by maki from the OG ruler weapons and I don't know if this is a coincidence or correlation yet but Zoro's King of "Hell" might actually be drawing from "demonic" aura as well as CoC Again, not sure if I am trying to find something that isn't there or if there is an actual connection.

Deffinetly, fact that Zoro used him as training dummy only add salt to the wound. But it's not like he didn't deserve it.

Zoro using him as a test dummy was perfect, Sommers looks down on Zoro but Zoro doesn't even consider him an actual enemy just something to train on.

If Sommers does die it'll be one of the most satisfying deaths ever in One Piece, right after or even more than Orochi.

The man used to fight with a YOUNG SHANKS,, while he had two arms at the time.... How can you NOT HAVE IT,,, and survive,, or even get on pair with him, if you don't - it is clear he definitly have it- but being so Honorable, and Classy as he is- he JUST use such a thing in people he just consider worthy ....like Shanks probably - there was no need to trash the floor with Zoro,, while he was training him using that, or when he meet him the first time,,that would have been totally overkill.

He's essentially Spandam; Only capable when his opponent is extremely weak or disadvantaged. If you think about it, weak-ish GK are basically the perfect training dummies.

Zoro has essentially stomped through the New World and even King only gave him a challenge because he had just taken a dual blow from Kaido / BM. Other than that he has only donned his bandana a few times since the time skip. He's taken out a fishman under water, no-diffed his Fishman opponent, Monet, and Pica.. Outside of King and Kaido / Big Mom he really hasn't had much opportunity to grow in the NW. This gives him a target that can regenerate until he's ready to end it, and a goal he has to reach if he wants to defeat the target.

I'm guessing Sanji's fight is going to be similar. Killingham unable to do much except regenerate until his heart gets curb-stomped by Sanji.

It's actually insane how people think characters like Blackbeard, Mihawk and Akainu don't have CoC. One scarred and traumatised Shanks in his kid 20s when he was a ACoC user. The other was his rival and had legendary duels with him which impressed even Whitebeard. As for the other he's the leader of 1 of the 3 powers.

True, he still needs to suffer for this... He's unforgivable so I daresay comparing him to Spandam and Caribou is fair, and these, two bastards are also still alive (though Spandam had to eat tons of shit already but he's still alive nonetheless).

At that moment, what would be the point of showing it off? Aside from the fact that he could have very well have given Zoro a demonstration for all we know, it still would not help Zoro at all because he would not be able to do anything tangible with said demonstration at that point in time. He can show it off all he wanted, but the only thing that Zoro would be able to comprehend is the "theory" behind Supreme King Haki because he had yet to awaken it.

Imu's top servants are probably the gorosei and shamrock. It makes no sense to frame the organization as a whole weak. Considering that Saul, a former vice admiral, was helpless against sommer's thorns and that gunko low diffed jinbe the situation here is simply that zoro and sanji are monsters. Sommers and killingham are probably stronger than a good chunk of the yonko executives we have seen before (just not the actual top ones).

Jimbei getting low diffed, while also not even getting hurt is so confusing. The GK power scale seems to be all over the place.

Im having a real hard time power scaling them. Like obviously Shamrock is going to be at least comparable to Shanks, but every other GK has come off as a chump so far. All of the GK looked like bitches at God Valley and none of the pirates there were even in their prime yet.

Usopp of all people has been holding his own against Gunko, who is apparently like an extra special GK. Sanji is just toying with Killingham, and I’m not sure why Zoro even put on the bandana, because he hasn’t even begun to struggle yet. Maybe it’s just like hot out or something?

I mean, the Gorosei didn’t manage to kill any of the Strawhats, even with CP0, half of the Seraphim, an Admiral, and a bunch of Vice Admirals backing them up.

Even if he showed him, it wouldn’t matter. It’s an intrinsic psychology of one’s identity.

- When they all going for the kill, Shamrock appears and show they how strong the GK can be, knocking almost everyone and saving Imu.

Then or Shanks appears and they clash or Shamrock retreat to save Imu.

If there was ever an arc of a Sanji Ivankov time skip flashback and conqueror's Haki stuff it would be now. This is literally Ivankov's direct enemy Sanji is facing, with Ivankov bring a founding commander of the revolutionaries and even having briefly fought Magellan who took down Blackbeard and his whole crew as well as Akainu briefly (unless that is anime only).

But this was a nice chapter even though it was a Zoro chapter and I detest the bias seeming Zoro Sanji writing. Sanji and Zoro and Luffy are the same when you compare Zoro and Sanji and Luffy both being weaklings to their peers (Ace, Sabo, Kuina, Germa kids). Nothing wrong with writing them similar even if Sanji does not have a renown dream as far as we know. He's heavily rooted in the Underworld by background and linked indirectly to taboo death worthy matter in lineage factor which also relates to devil fruits.
