I do believe Oda never intended for Inu and Neko to be part of the Akazaya at first. Notice how they acted the 1st time they met with Kinemon. But I think Oda changed his mind later on, and it became obvious as the dynamics between Inu/Neko and Kinemon changed

I miss when Oda included some of the really goofy gag stuff in the actual manga. Like I'm glad we still get it in the SBS's, but triangle-for-a-crotch is something that would absolutely have been in East Blue.

In general Oda needs to amp up the comedy a bit. Gear Fifth is intended to be comedic, but I think the heat of the moment and how serious the battle with Kaido was caused any potential humor to be lost in translation. The only funny part I recall from all of Kaido vs Luffy was "Flirty Drunk Kaido."

I miss the days of Water Luffy. Of a zombie popping out of the ground and Luffy casually pushing it back in. The days when Zoro and Sanji used Luffy to deflect Cannon Balls. Doflamingo's "stars" and his reward for God Usopp. Pica's voice..

We've been in Wano / Onigashima way too damned long, and I can't think of any funny scenes that really stand out.

they were moments here and there, but yeah the arc was serious given the stakes.

Oda also reveals that the Red Hair Pirates have many subordinate pirate crews under their umbrella, though he likens Shanks's relationship with them like that of the Straw Hat Grand Fleet, where he doesn't really "rule" over them.

Interesting, with that explanation it's more than confirmed shank's crew is basically aligned with what other yonko had. Basically, yonko, then top executives, then affiliated/recruited forces. For balance's sake perhaps it makes sense that shank's numbers would be smaller than what kaido or big mom had. Since his crew is comparatively younger and his executives are implied to be stronger than that of other yonko. If shanks's forces have really grown like that it does give the impression he was on his way to getting ahead of big mom and kaido at least.

Kidd's backstory is pretty great! Going to take a shot in the dark and say Victoria died because she confronted the gang leader for laughing at her dream. Kidd's reaction to killing anyone who laughs at his dream would make a ton of sense if that were the case.

Like how the concept of freedom is prevelant in the "good" Yonkou crews. Shanks has his allies and a large crew, but, like Luffy, he doesn't force them to sail with him, ala Kaido and Big Mom. They are free to live their own pirates lives and likely only join in when Shanks requests their help or, like Whitebeard, they come whenever they feel they are needed.

This is all pretty cool info. Wonder if this saves us from a Kidd flashback in the future or if Oda will still do it within the manga. As for Shanks, guess he is more similar to WB/Luffy style leadership where they have tons of affiliated crews but no direct ruling heirarchy where they can boss them around like that of BM/Kaido.

One Piece animals aren't exactly normal in the first place, so, for all we know, Drum Kingdom deer could live to be like 200 or something. That being said, the Alternate Future SBS Oda drew implies that he ages like a normal human.

I mean the next arc is already going to have the giants and most likely the revolutionaries so that wouldn't be a good time. And it'd be a waste if they were just brought in for the final arc.
