Heroes s1 was peak cliffhanger popcorn TV back in my teens. I was so disappointed by the following seasons even back then, but s1 is still superb to me. So no issues with this casting for me.

Nor for any of the others. Especially Sagal - that's actually perfection.
Truly peak cliffhanger, I think I enjoyed heroes up until season 2 and then they just lost me, which is sad cuz the concept was real good.

Heroes was so good. Unfortunately it suffered due to big writers strikes like many series of the era (Lost, Prison Break, Pushing Daisies). I mean, the strikes themselves were good, but studios pushed half-written crap out during the time rather than pay writers or hastily written shit after strike.

Mohinder will be a good Cobra.

Poor, poor, poor Lost. What a tragic... loss.

As long as they make Mr. 3 and the rest of Baroque Works serious threats, the buildup to Crocodile in Season 3 is gonna be insane. He'll be OPLA's Thanos.

I can only ever see him as Mohinder, Heroes is like core memory for me
me too, i like Senthil but all heroes actors i still call them by their show names... Jaimie Lee Curtis made such a big deal, unsure why she didn't get cast.. my guess is she'll show up as Dadan or someone more important.

They offered her the role, but couldn't make the schedules work. She had first committed to Freaky Friday 2, that is shooting right now as well.

That ear twitch wascso cute!

Also Joe Manganiello (The werewolf from True Blood) and Lera Abova confirmed as Crocodile and Robin.
--- Double Post Merged, , Original Post Date: ---

And if there any critters/trpg nerds around, you may better know Manganiello as Arkhan the Cruel

Chopper doesn't look bad, I think he's okay. They could make his eyes a little sweeter. What bothers me is the release period in 2026 and that we won't even see Alabasta there. This all takes too long, so the hype has unfortunately evaporated among mainstream audiences.

To be fair, the shoot ended in february. So roughly an year in post-production is quite normal. There's also the fact that on second half of 2025 Netflix already has finale seasons of their all time biggest hits (Stranger Things & Squid Game) as well as season 2 of Wednesday, that was also huge. So makes sense they'd not jam all of them out simultaneously.

We also already have leaks, that season 3 starts shooting fall this year, so gap between s2 and s3 won't be as long. Should also remember that the strikes post-poned the the production of S2 for half an year almost.

But yeah, time was always an issue with thus production. 50-year-old Inagaki at Wano memes are too real.

I'm really getting vibes, that 3 seasons is what we get in total. Alabasta imo is a solid enough ending point.

As for Chopper. Pretty cute, but nothing expectionally eye-catching or special. Solid.

Finally, we got the trailer for the second season. It looks good so far. I only do not like the wigs and that everything looks so clean again.

This could be edited/changed before full release though

Also what can we do about the wigs, its not like they can suddenly grow hair to be the perfect lengh and color

I liked it! Brogy looks awesome, Laboon looks awesome! The fight against Buggy Pirates looked amazing! Also a brilliant idea to have have a carnival at Loguetown Square, presumably as a trap.

Whisky Peak set really looked like a set, and not an actual location anyone lives at. But that's minor.

Wokeness has destroyed my favorite movie franchise. Star Wars will probably not be able to recover from that. Accordingly, I am already very careful when I see set-up woke castings.

Unfortunately, Netflix has already noticed negatively in the past. Death Note and Resident Evil, to name a few.

Accordingly, I find the criticism partly justified.

Still, Vivi doesn't bother me in the Netflix series. I think it fits quite well, even if I would have rather wished for an Arabic Vivi, because Egypt's setting.
I also found her arrogant expression well played in the trailer. Vivi was a bit strict as an agent and only later, when she had revealed herself as a princess, became softer from her expression.

Anyway, I think the casting is generally great so far. Even Nojiko was okay. I was more disturbed by story changes, such as the inhabitants of the village were unaware of Nami's business with Arlong.

I'm really looking forward to the season and I'm looking forward to Mr. 3.
