I don't think you could "put out" Ace. Water puts out fire by smothering it, so if you have fire burning on wood, the water coats the wood and the oxygen can't get to the fire. Ace can produce fire in the air with apparently no fuel; unless Aokiji can somehow hold a giant bubble around every flame, the water won't do anything. I also think Aokiji can make ice without having moisture in the air, but that doesn't mean Ace can't melt it.
Also to be fair, the D that Aokiji killed wasn't fighting back.

Ace's fire will enable him to directly harm Aokiji's body while Aokiji's ice will melt and extinguish Ace's fire, enalbing him to damage Ace. The ultimate winner would be determined by the physical power of the two and any other techniques they may use.

As Razh said it its not like he can just create ice out of nothing. If ace heats up enough there will be no water left in the atmosphere sorrounding them to create ice. Maybe there are ways how he could and would try to defend himself but he could only buy some time with that. I really can´t think of a way how Aokji could beat him. No way he could freeze him...

Well, the water that Ace will evaporate will become water vapour which can be used by Aokiji to form ice. Also its not like DF users obey the law of conservation of energy and matter(or do they??)
I was thinking the the battle would be similar to crocdile and luffy - crocodile's ability is to absorb moisture (hence lufffy's water could be absorbed at any time) but punching him with wet hands hurts him. Once crocodile is wet, he could no longer use his power. This may be the same for Ace. Once Ace and Aokiji are able to damage each other, the one with the most stamina is likely to win.(i understand your logic and kind of agree with it but i am just offering some alternatives:P)

hey guys i was watching the jaya island arc with blackbeard and bellamy and they were saying that norland lived 400 years ago and his book that he used to write in had a date of 1180 something. so by deduction, one piece is happening in the end of the 1500! anyway im just saying, some of u guys probably already knew that!

That's very interesting. For one thing, it means that dates in the One Piece world do NOT go by the founding of the World Government, since that would have made Norland around the year 400. So the question is, what was going on during the 700 years or so BEFORE the Void Century. Also, I think that's a mistake on Oda's part. The real Golden Age of Piracy was from around 1650 to 1725. Oda seems to have set One Piece about 100 years earlier then when the Golden Age in our world started to peak (it fully peaked around 1715, I think.) I wonder if he made it intentionally early, did it by mistake, or wasn't trying to parallel real history at all...

well oda probably made it for these years cuz they only say 4 centuries ago, so it could be like 480 years or something like that. i dont know if its in the manga but we should go check if they say a more precise year.

I wonder if Garp's statement solely refers to Silver. I mean, if he really is that strong and poses a really big threat to WG, he should be captured long ago. I had in mind that Garp means that he probably knows Luffy is there too and if WG were to go against both of them, they will suffer a super mega loss!

EDIT: Sorry, I re-read the translation and I guess the WG won't be sending marines or any admiral to shabaody since they might be expecting WB to come to rescue Ace. If that's the case, they WILL suffer big loss. bwahaha!

so what the argument about luffy not afraid of lightning?
is that prove when that lightning hit both luffy and buggy when buggy was about to kill him?

also luffy come out unharm!! but buggy was shocked by the lightning not becos due to that he the only being hit..

Ace is simply the winner. How cold or how much an ice is, it will get melt when face the fire. And i never heard before that a fire can be iced. If you think of the water produced by a melting ice will extinguished the fire, you should remember first that in Ace's case, it's little bit different. The Logia user can put the element out of nowhere. The water will never make Ace out of fire!

Hey, is anybody here notice that it's to weird for Kuma to have a bounty? What crime he probably did in the past before he got his sichibukai job? I mean he IS the goverment creation. He's not like the other sichibukai that got the job after proving their capability as a mere pirate.

Um... Kuma didn't become a Pacifista Cyborg until AFTER he became a Shichibukai. I suppose he either asked Vegapunk to do it, or Vegapunk wanted a test-subject and Kuma volunteered, but either way, he is NOT a creation of the World Government. He was once an incredibly brutal and fearsome pirate. Why he's become the World Government's Lapdog since, we don't know, but either way, he was a powerful pirate before becoming a Shichibukai too, just like the rest of them.

^ Moria was never exactly a friendly guy.

As for his knowing Dragon, the higher-ups in both the Pirate and Marine worlds probably know about that by now, given Luffy's meteoric rise in stature. I do think it's strange that he suddenly decided to leave them be--though that may be more due to narrative expedience than an actual conspiracy.

i'm not too sure about the higher-ups in both the Pirate and Marine worlds knowing about, luffy and dragon being father and son.. shakky who is very well informed wasen't sure about luffy and garpå being related, and she prolly only knew he had Monkey D. in his name cause she has met min personaly.. i think most people only know Dragon as Dragon and don't know about the Monkey D. and that is not a fact WG will share to just anyone.. but even if kuma knew about it through WG it is still wierd that he mentions it...

We don't know yet. The theories were basically that he was either Raleigh, Akainu, or some random powerful bounty hunter. The theory that he's Raleigh, obviously, has been disproved. But the theory that he's Akainu still stands, though I find it tenuous, and the theory that he's a bounty hunter definitely stands. Personally, I say he's a powerful bounty hunter, but as of now, there's no conclusive evidence or answer as to his identity. He'll probably be important for the Sabaody arc or the Fishman Island arc though, so we might find out who he is then. Or we might not find out until after a while in the New World. As of now, we just don't know.
