ya moria said he made his reputation using his fruit only. and then he lost to kaidou so he chose to take everyones shadow and to use it for his own power. im relying on memory here as always but i think he said he got his bounty by using his fruit only.

Yeah, he tells Luffy something along the lines of "There was a time when I was full of pride in my own strength" and then goes on to say that he found it much better to just use others for his own purposes.

- Really? He outran Luffy kind of easily and split the island with Shadows Asgard. If I got anything from that battle, it was that Moria relies on others when he can. But yes, he does rely upon his devil fruit, by name someone who has a DF that doesn't rely on it?

More like he tricked Luffy.

And yeah, he split the island with Shadows Asgard for which he needed 1000 shadows at his disposal.

If he was fighting Luffy normally, without an army of shadows, it would be over the moment Luffy starts using Gears.
Mind you, Luffy was doing a pretty good job beating up Moria even when he was using Shadows Asgard.

Not to say that Moria is weak. Probably stronger than the majority of people, but not enough to take on Luffy one on one.

He split the island with Shadows Asgard.

That was due to his DF.
I mean he's a Giant.
Don't you remember how the 2 Giants at Lil' Garden were insanely strong?
Also the two guarding the first gate at EL and of course Jaguar D Saul, he was trowing battleships around.

but that'll be weird, isn't it? it was stated that moria and yonku kaidou were on par, and moria only lost cuz his members weren't good enough. so if luffy could beat moria up one on one, it means he could also kick kaidou's ass, and that's just werid, seeing he's no where near yonku's strength lvl (yet).

And Kuma is probably nowhere near what he had been 10 years ago. That Kaidou would probably change his diapers one on one.

ya i think the weakest shichibukai at during the war will be gecko, no doubt about it. his fruit is insanely powerful, but it takes time for it to become that powerful. like in thriller bark, how long did it take him to capture all those shadows? a long ass time. and i dont think hes fast enough to capture all those shadows during the war. like you guys said hell probably stick mostly using his own fruit like against luffy.

flamingo, blackbeard, hancock, hawkeye, kuma, well all of them except for jimbei, cause i say he fights with his hands, peure strength. anyway i say theyll be the biggest asset in the war because they can take a lot of opponents at the same time. same thing with the admirals. but obviously theyll have to fight one on one against the commandants probably.

- Nightmare Luffy? Who needed that. Luffy only hit Moria fifty times whilst in that form, like a warm up really.
- Crew? Who needed that? I mean, none of them technically hurt Moria so he couldn't have possibly wasted any energy dealing with them and enhancing Oz's power.
- Shadows Asgard? Like it was soooo obviously his only good technique. I mean, if he was unhurt and the battle started again and he wanted to be totally serious he would start the battle with Shadows Asgard even though doing it breaks his consciousness.

Yeah, I'd say there's a good chance it is just art work, like a tapestry or like those wood carvings. I don't like ignoring things that Oda puts in plain sight though, even if it is just part of the background... He has a way of slipping things in.

Yup Crocus was the ship's doctor, not it's navigator. He still could have owned the lockpost on the journey... after all he still isn't a navigator and yet he had one when the SH crew entered the grand line. It also could of been given to him for safekeeping since he is right at the entrance to the grand line and it's not like as if the Roger pirates are going to reform and need it again. When they left, Crocus thought aloud to Roger, "are they the pirates we've been waiting for"? as if to imply there was something he is supposed to do for that group of pirates he is waiting for.

Oh well, I'm just putting random ideas together.

Nooo, not Shadows Asgard again.
That's a technique as same as Nightmare Luffy, meaning he won't be using it so soon again. Last time I checked, Moria has no 1000 shadows under his controll.

Moria himself implied that he's not a fighter any more. What? You think SH would have as much trouble if Moria had a crew of 20 men?

And again, Luffy did pound Nighmare Moria pretty well with his combined gears. How much chance would a normal Moria have?

Nightmare Moria was slow, out of control and losing conciousness with every second, all not helped by Luffy's large blows. A normal Moria would have replaced himself with Doppelman and evaded a lot of Luffy's gear blows, moreso 3 than 2. Still not sure what the speed of the combo is, I think it probably just puts him back at average speed actually.

But yeah, I'd love to see a serious Moria just to show all those "Moria<everyvillainfromhereon" people. Maybe Whitebeard will give me my wish and deliver Moria a battle.

I think you guys need to think of how Moria acted guys..........HE NEVER FOUGHT LUFFY DIRECTLY.....what does that tell you, that he is physically weak and his ability doesn't help that factor, i see Moria as a character of great cunning and deception as well as a fearful POTENTIAL with his shadows.......But no real strength physically, i think that's why he needed Oz so he knew as soon as Oz was defeated that he was screwed, I also think "shadow asgard" as Zoro said is a complete time stalling move, i doubt Moria could hold 100 shadows and stay concious but i think the Asgard is so stupidly overpacked that he basically just rampages and is never relaly in control which means it's completely useless in a battle except to stall

You write "Giant" in uppercase... he is not of the giant race, he is just a overgrow human. He is around the half of a giant size.

Yes, he has enough strength to grab a human in his hands, but that doesn't make him a hand-to-hand fighter, either I don't think he would deal with a sea king with his bare hands.

Moria doesn't fight on 1x1 to Luffy. He fought with Oz alongside against all Strawhat pirates and other guys. Without Nightmare Luffy thanks to Lola, Oz would have smashed everyone else in a second. Either Nightmare Luffy was overpowered. =P
