Andonan, I just have to say that we've only heard of Kaidou V Moria and Shanks V Mihawk. Two matches isn't enough to group and rank them by. Though quite a lot of the Shichibukai are lower tier, I think Kuma, Blackbeard, Mihawk and Doflamingo could hold their own against a Yonkou any day of the week.

Also, Moria didn't lose to Kaidou. He lost his crew to Kaidou though, so Kaidou > Moria if only because of the rest of his crew or if his strength was lost partially after defeating Moria's crew.

Shanks v Mihawk was an implied draw imo, but there is nothing saying Shanks was ever after the worlds greatest swordsman title. If Shanks is a part-time swordsman and he beat Mihawk, can he seriously still claim that he is the greatest swordsman?

Well i suppose iw as also thinking interms of relationship, for example BB being apart of WB crew and knowing he was never at WB's strength and Kuma has hinted at a relationship with other great powers, though not necessarily Yonkou, i know i did exaggerate a bit but i think my initial point still applies, PLUS think of it this way, the marines are assembly EVERY FORCE THEY HAVE TO DEAL WITH ONE (not 2 or 3 or 4 Yonkou) BUT ONE! And you think there would be any difference if this was Shank's war? Do you think the Marines would just say "OI Mihawk go deal with Shanks would ya" oh course they wouldn't, I'm sorry but Yonkou over Shichibuki any day of the week...... which is all i was really trying to say

I think what Luffy meant by his conversation with Blueno was, that he has to get stonger to fight strong opponents like Akoji. Not actually to fight Akoji per-se. Because no matter how you look at it Akoji is Logia and Luffy wont be able to hurt him. With the introduction of Haki and what we saw Religh do to Kizaru who is also a logiga type may-be the only way for Luffy to stand a chance.

What's the point in talking about fighting aokiji if he can't touch him? I think based on gear 2 and what he said back then that its alright to assume that he might be able to fight aokiji mano a mano for real this time. As for Kizaru and the other logias he'll have to figure something out but im pretty sure that coming up with gear 2 was an anti-aokiji move to heat up his body and keep him from freezng internally.

no no no! the next move for luffy to get stronger is haki. well its not really a move but its a technique i guess. and the only way to touch aokiji or any other logia type is using haki. look at rayleigh and kizaru and look at garp and luffy. the only way garp touched luffy is with haki just like when luffy fought the 2 sisters. and the only reason why luffy got gear 2 is for speed and not heating up his body like why would you think that? its only a side effect. luffy wanted to put his speed up cause the difference between pirates and strong pirates is speed. i noticed it before ennies lobby arc and when i saw that luffy got gear 2 i was so happy cause it would really make him stronger. and the difference between strong pirates and younkou level or legend level or call it wtv you want is haki. the reason why the legends dont have fruits is because they use haki. haki beats everyone with a fruit and thats why they dont want fruits, well anyway they might have fruits but i doubt it. well we kno for a fact that shanks doesnt have a fruit unless he took one recently.

and they wanted to send robin to marine headquarters to execute her.

It'll take some time for luffy to start using haki as a weapon and even if he manages to use it by accident once he probably won't be able to do it repeatedly.

I was referring to the leg kick he landed on Kizaru, which a normal person should be able to do since Kizaru is Logia. http://www.onemanga.com/One_Piece/511/18-19/

The same goes for the sword a sword should not be able to cut Logia types either.

So this would lead me to belive from what we seen from Margeret and the other Kujia, Religh's attack both with the leg and sword were infused with haki.

We haven't got a proper explanation as to how Religh was able to do those amazing feats on a Logia. So its not proven if haki was involved, but one would have to assume it was imo.

The point is Luffy reflecting on how to protect his nakama, since he had is butt handed to him by Akoji. Luffy realizes that since they are traveling on the GL more strong guys like Akoji will show up and therefor Luffy

PlOT-KAI power up out of the blue based on cp9 tech that apparently is not learned overnight, but Luffys able to do so because Oda gave him a need level up to fight cp9

develops the gear technique to combat those stronger pirates. Now having said that even the gear techs IN MY OPINION will not work on a Logia Admrial type.

Well well, they're not that far apart actually. In terms of legend, Roger is obviously greater but don't forget that when he was alive Whitebeard was the only man who tied against him. Garp also recently called him the "ruler of the seas". He's also the man closest to One Piece/Raftel at the moment, which is really the only thing that keeps him from having achieved pretty much just as much as Roger and easily deserved the title "Pirate King".

(Which obviously won't happen since Luffy will become Pirate King despite not even being born when Roger was alive but whatever.)

No, because Shanks has an awesome-tastic crew + it might be a close match. Why would the WG leave something that big to chance? Now scale it a bit more for Whitebeard given his MUCH larger crew + his title as strongest man and the WG could quite feasibly just throw 3-4 Shichibukai at Whitebeard + crew, but since One Piece is not chess, no fight is a sure thing and One Piece doesn't use ridiculous power levels ala-DBZ, no point in just scraping through. Also, do you think Whitebeard will 1 on 1 fight Shichibukai? This is the man who sees everything beneath him and would send any of his division captains out first, so on that note of course no singular Shichibukai could defeat Whitebeard + crew.

The WG has assembled a force that will completely obliterate Whitebeard, a close win isn't as good for propaganda.

(Oh, and would you rate Moria as mid-tier Shichibukai? If so, and he drew with Kaidou how does that make Yonkou >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Shichibukai?)

I just have to disagree with your statement I put in blod. It did not seem like haki to me on that part. I was under the impression that was just a display of Graps power. "Grap The Fist" I can't prove it was not a haki based attack but I don't think it was. To me it just seemed like a hardcore physical punch from Garp the same way he throws rows of canon balls or even lift that giant one. Its just his strength.

no no i bet a milion dollar that its haki. it doesnt say anywhere and i cant prove it but its haki for sure. i say that because oda always made sense in every aspect of one piece and never contradicted itself and thats the major reason why i like one piece and that i dont like naruto. so it would contradict everything if they would say that it was pure strength that hurt luffy. i mean why did lucci never hurt luffy? well ok they might not have the same strength but id consider lucci having a strength almost as big as garp, well maybe not but wtv. and just look at the 2 sisters that luffy fought, its the exact same thing.

actually i think i found a place where oda contradicted himself but i cant remember, well theres the shichibukai thing that blackbeard doesnt have an animal theme but its not such a big deal and he might be using that to make blackbeard pop out because hell play such a big role later on but wtv.

Luffy doesn't do sentimentality, if he was still unable to face aokiji he probably wouldn't have mentioned him to blueno. You don't go remembering old losses in the middle of a fight unless you think that at your current level the result would have been different. Besides this is one piece man its not so hard to think that luffy might have figured out the enemy's weakness after a fight. I'm only bringing up aokiji because out of all the admirals I figure luffy has a better chance of defeating him since they've actually fought before.

it seems that there isn't just Whitebeard armada in the war. It was stated about other pirates of the New World. And it was never stated that there would not be another Yonkou there.

@bittman, you seriously think that WB's crew is going to get steamrolled? Have you been reading those News reports they completely dispatched a massive marine crew and has already got the WG on the back foot 3 days into this war, I agree i think obviously Wb is going to loose, but i wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't take a couple of admirals and Shichi's with him It won't be an obliteration, faaaaaarrrrrrrrr from it, and though i don't think all Yonjou's oculd replicate this war that's coming i would say they woudn't be far off.....

i dunno. at first i thought that whitebeard would lose but the more i think of it, like its not for nothing that whitebeard has the most powerful crew in the whole world. like when jimbei said hed give his life to stop this war, well i think that theyd actually need him. like im pretty sure hed make a big difference. like sinking 23 ships in a fraction of a second is just unbelievable. but i still think the wg is goin to win. o and do you guys think that sengoku will fight?

I don't think WB's crew size is that relevant.
If they fought on sea against only Aokiji( a lil' bit like fighting Croc in the desert) only Top Tiers would survive(max 10 people).
And you have to add the other two Admirals, Smoker, John Giant,...+ the Shishibukai.

I know the war is gonna a while before we get to see it, but i can't help but be excited at the prospect of WB's strength and that of marco as well(joz to a lesser extent). i keep having this image playin in the back of my head as to how WB arrives at Marineford and lands at the port swinging his bisento, creating a rankyaku-like wave that knocks down building and most marines, then sends out his captains! that would be awesome!!!!
