Re: One Piece Mega Convo (Spoilers!)
Yeah nice point, I almost had a good argument response to you but one fact blew it out of the water:
"We'll take care of your husband's unfulfilled wish"
I just deleted a fair bit of text, ah well. Guess I'll go back to my theory of Dragon being everyone's dad because, funnily enough, none of the Strawhat's have a dad and Dragon seems pimp enough...except Chopper of course...well, I HOPE "except Chopper of course". (yes this is a crazy theory, come on Imitorar, do your worst =P )
With pleasure. *cracks knuckles* Well, Dragon can't possibly be the father of Brook, Franky, Robin, Chopper, or Usopp, so that's over half of the current Straw Hat Crew. Brook, Franky, and Robin are WAY too old, Chopper's not human, and
Usopp's father is already accounted for.
That leaves Nami, Zoro, and Sanji.
Nami was found at sea by Bellemere, and I don't think Dragon would have been involved in a war 17 years ago. He'd probably only just left Foosha Village and started to incite revolution, seeing as it was around this time that Luffy was born. And I don't see how he'd have managed to lose a baby in a boat, or why he'd have been involved in a war in East Blue. I think this was the period when Dragon actually stayed home and parented, from when Ace was born until around a year or two of when Luffy was born, so Dragon would probably have been at home being a parent. Which is very odd thought, but that's a different issue.
As to Zoro and Sanji, well,
Sanji was born in North Blue, and aside from the question of why Dragon would be going around to other parts of the world during the part of his life before he began trying to overthrow the World Government, one would also wonder why Dragon was off gallivanting around North Blue 20 years ago when he should have been home because his wife was about to give birth to his firstborn. So that rules Sanji out.
As to Zoro, well, look at the character. Zoro shares no "D." traits with Luffy, really. He's not like Luffy, Ace, or Garp, or any of the Monkey D.'s we've seen so far. Not to mention, again, the unlikelihood of Dragon going around the world, even East Blue, when Ace was about to be born. I honestly think that he was mostly a "stay-at-home" dad until around when Luffy was born, when he left to set out on the path that led to him becoming a revolutionary and the Most Wanted Man in the World. It's just so unlikely and illogical.
And that's the strongest argument against Dragon being the father of any Straw Hat other then Luffy (and Ace, if he joins). It'd just be an unlikely and pointless relationship to put into the series, so I doubt that Oda would do it.
...
Alright, I think I've continued this conceit adequately. How it goes now is up to you, bittman.
