That would be cool, perhaps Zoro will eventually get Norlands sword. It'd be a cool way to tie together Norland and Zoro. The guy seems to be inhumanly strong so I don't think Zoro has surpasse him just yet.

800 years ago the WG already existed. And your claiming that 400 years ago, the WG was still under the name of 12 kingdoms?

No, the WG came to being 800 years ago, and Norland lived 400 years ago, which meant that the WG was already in being. The 12 kingdoms had already merged together and formed the WG, which ahd already existed for 400 years.

Who is to say that the current rankings system didn't already exist?

Norland was not a marine admiral, he was an admiral of his own country. Countrys dont HAVE to be a part of the wg and thus can give out titles of their own.

@knivez: correct me if i got you wrong, but we already knew that from some explanation above. but the problem was it's because Norland's told living 400 years ago, and i remember that WG was called "the 12 kingdoms" in the past but forgot that when exactly WG was formed, which if it's behind that time Norland lived then i thought we could suspect about the different ranking system: i.e. perhaps the rank "admiral" of a country/kingdom is equal to "admiral" rank of the WG now.

but now it's all cleared. it turned out that i miscalculated because Prof. Clover said that WG's already exist before the time Norland lived. that caused us unable to ascertain the sameness of the ranking system but concluded one thing: his rank can't be as big as that of current admirals.

After 400 years, I have to go with Yabe's statement. It's possible that there weren't as many countries that were part of the WG. We know of the powerful Alliance that took on an Ancient Kingdom but we have to believe that there were separate governments that hadn't yet become a part of the WG, so they had their own ranks. Even then, they would be different from what Norland may have been. Possibly a Commodore or even Vice Admiral.

Speaking of which, aren't there other countries with their own ranks in Present day OP?

I think so.

Pell and Chaka were both vice leaders of the army.
The commander was Igaram.

Dunno about admirals and other naval ranks, but it sure is a fair bet, I think.

Yabe might be right, 400 years ago their might have only been a few Kingdoms. The strongest and oldest were the only ones who could have an admiral. Or perhaps they were nominated from countries and thats the one the fought for? 400 years ago the system could have been different then it is now.

Well when you think back we've seen Luffy stretch some pretty crazy distances. For example when he stretched his arm to grab Usopp back on Water 7 while they were fighting off Garp......

Btw how epic was Luffy's crying face when he was calling out to Usopp and vice versa ahahaa :P

I think the most stretching he has ever done was an unwilling stretching of his arm due to the weight of an immense gold ball.
