You may want to reread the battle against Krieg's troops? Those guys where to the most part being defeated by Sanji and Luffy. Or when Luffy and Sanji brought Nami to Kureha? Sanji from then has been more like a specialist that protects the ladies in danger: He saved Nami from Enel in Skypiea, dashed away to Robin's aid onto Puffing Tom, rushed to Nami to prevent her marriage on Thriller Bark and then held Luffy back because of his personal business with Duval.

Well, there have always been minor timeskips of some days or weeks. But the largest timeskips have been in Chapter 1 and Chapter 0 (with from the first to the last panel 22 years each), and these flashbacks, of course. But that's it.

I think Sanji is the guy who does things behind the scenes that saves the day, a tactician/strategist if you say. When Sanji gets motivated he is a beast. Sanji is the suave sophisticated hero, while zoro is the clumsy brute force hero. Luffy, would die if he was to lose his cook. I mean his 3 most important things in life: Food, Adventure, and Nakama.
The good thing about OP fillers is that it only lasted 2-3 chaps max as far as I can remember lol
