I think it's hard to believe that Dragon goes to East Blue for nothing. The most wanted man in the world should stay at the Grand Line, especially the New World. It should be something important. His son fit it, I think (we don't know much about his personality).
man you re harsh , that event is far from being a considence dragon even told garp that he sent luffy off . the revolutionaries are supposed to have intelligence now how did they know that robin is on that island ?
The manga never states a conversation beetween Garp and Roger at the current timeline. You may be confusing with the fact that Garp knew Luffy meet Dragon. I think it's quite obvious Smoker reported Dragon presence there, and that he couldn't arrest Mugiware because of his presence.

Also, it was never stated if the reason for the revolutionaries freeing the bridge island was because of Robin.

Wow.. I never thought of Jimbei being a strawhat..
I mean..
-It would add more to the variety of the crew because he is a merman.
-Once the war is over and he doesn't end up sacrificing his life, what will he do ?
-He is a traitor to the world government and will only reside as a pirate from now on
-Maybe in honour of Ace, he will help Luffy accomplish his goal of becoming Pirate King ?
-He is incredibly strong and has lots of advantages (like swimming faster, calling sea creatures for help etc.) and surely would have cool fights with enemies while being a member of Strawhat Pirates...
In my eyes... it seems very plausible now...
I would really like jimbei to join the shs but one single point makes it seem unlikely:
Everyone in sh crew has a goal they want to reach by travelling thru gl.
What is his objective? We don't know that much about him...

For Garp, i think he will simply go in pension after this war. He is old, he served mhq for a long long time and with "letting ruffy rescue ace" he went against wg. Also he stated his willingness to kill an admiral, i think that should be enough reasons for him to retire. I hope he finished cobys apprenticeship before :sweat

Dragon himself is one of the most mysterious characters of one piece. i don't think he came there becouse of "my son is in danger". Perhaps he did wait there for him or more likely he had to do something in east blue and got info that luffy would come to logue town.

But back to topic: I really hope that next chapter will shortly explain who are those legendary prisoners, and what they did to become legends. And also i want to know something about that weirdbeard guy who is with the bbs.
Since wb split the battlefield in two and parted the fighting forces, i still think this arc will reach its end in 2-3 chapters.

Btw: What about Senghok? Will he retire after this war to give the marines a new face in the new era?

I found on OP wiki that Shiryuu's name could be a reference to real life Chinese pirate Zheng Zhilong which translated into Japanese is Tei Shiryuu.

Yeah it's a pretty cool site for things like that but something disturbs me everytime i read it^^ they made usop the vice captain?! is it somehow confirmed? i only remember urouge on sa calling zoro "first mate" but did we ever get some info about that? (aside from usops self-nominations)

Edit: it's quiet off-topic^^ phps someone move it to mega-convo?

What do you suppose will happen to Garp at the end of this arc?

He has already said that he plans to retire after the WB war, however he has done some things in the sight of Sengoku that are... for want of a better term, "Treasonous".

1) The just let him get away with what he did and retire.
2) They let him retire then arrange a little accident for him.
3) They kill him now and announce the Hero of the Marines died of his injuries in the War.
4) They put him on trial for treason, then send him to Impel Down.
5) They don't get a chance to do anything as he attacks BB and is killed.
1) If Garp survives this war, I bet on this, it's the more logical thing to happen : Garp would not be a threat to Marine after the war.

2) Impossible. He can't be killed by someone less strong than an Admiral as he is Admiral level (Chapter 0). Besides, a fight between Admiral(s) and Garp would not be easy for each side : the marine won't take the risk to lose Admirals after this war : the Revolutionary Army (RA) is yet to come and fight.
And kill Garp and make it look like an incident is impossible when you know all the damages Garp always make around him, especially when it would be a fight of Admiral level. It can't look like he fell and died.

3) Impossible, especially in the middle of a fight between MHQ, WB and BB crew. And the marine would never understand that their Fleet Admiral and their Hero fight to death. It would be the exact kind of incident the RA would like to see.

4)Impossible. The marine can't bear the condemnation Garp : he is a symbol of Justice and of the Marine. Sengoku already said that because of his title, Hero of the Marine, he could not do anything against him (in terms of policy). So, how would the marine bear that in such a time, when it has to be strong to rebuild itself, when another danger is not very far (RA).

5) Garp getting killed by BB crew, I don't know. It might be the time for Garp to do something in this war but I don't see a BB pirate able to beat him.

Nope. I think he was just in East Blue at that time and he saw his son's wanted poster. Knowing that he'll have to pass through Logue Town sooner or later, he went there to see his son off to Grand Line, see what he's like and all. From this pic here, you can almost feel that.

But then again, maybe he was there by accident which is quite a coincidence.
Here's an idea what if Dragon is like that dude's father in Wanted (the movie) and kept a watch over his son from his distance :P
Ey' maybe not.

Yeah, he is loyal to the marines and hates pirates, it was only a family matter.
Garp : " I'm old, Sengoku, and I told you earlier, family is different !"

It's probably because Usopp said ' I'm the Captain ", or " I'm the Vice-Captain " in front of Luffy and Zoro. Anyway, each time, it never worked.
And the Vice-Captain is definitely Zoro, there is no doubt about it (first nakama that Luffy met, his words for the Usopp incident (during the fight, after the fight) the Kuma incident, his strenght, he's the swordman like Rayleigh)

That were my thoughts :) Zoro behaves lot more than a vice captain.
Here is what urouge said.

@ black lagoon: i had my problems to find it :D no idea what i thought in that moment^^

Imo Sanji behaves more like the Vice-Captain but Zoro is definitely the vice-captain the kuma incident says it all.

Garp and Dragon haven't talked in the manga yet and

http://www.onemanga.com/One_Piece/432/16/ here he could be referring to Smoker
impossible because right above it, it states "What so he didnt tell you?" meaning Dragon didnt tell luffy that he is his father. Smoker would have no way of knowing that information. thus dragon spoke to garp

Smoker could have only mentioned Dragon saving Luffy and whatsmore only Sengoku or Ajoiki at that time knew that Luffy was Garp's grandson.
Garp was keeping this a secret from the rest of the world that Dragon was his son or even he had a son

In the New World ? The New World is the Yonkou's territories whereas the East/West/North/South Blue and the first half of GL are the WG's territories. If I'm right, the RA wants to fight with the WG, not the Yonkou. I guess that's why it's more logical to not see him in the NW : the RA does not have time and men to lose to fight against pirates for NW territories.

First of all, Garp said in W7 that Dragon told him he saw Luffy in Logue Town.
Secondly, Smoker didn't reporte anything to MHQ because he decided to follow the SHs in the GL even if he was not allowed to. It was a marine of LG that had to explain why Smoker left the island. And as you know, nobody except Smoker and Luffy saw Dragon.

As far as I've noticed, the Revolutionaries operate mostly on the Blues. Grand Line id important to sailors and pirates, who have to go through it to get to New World. There are lands outside the Gand Line and Revolutionaries are trying to free them.

Also, there's that 700 year old bridge in East Blue, which is built by people who refused to join WG. I thought it could be a target of Revolutionary attack before we saw it on Robin's cover story.

You can hardly conclude that Dragon was in East Blue only to see Luffy off.

No, Garp didn't keep the secret purposely, in fact all the higer marine (Sengoku, Aokiji, Akainu, Kizaru) knew the secret, we understand by this image http://www.onemanga.com/One_Piece/432/19/
Only for Ace he take this a secret.
And I also think than He will not be punish, in fact Sengoku understand his position, and He calm him and didn't punish him, chapter 574.
And if He was not punished by Sengoku o by the Gorosei after having known that he has saved and raised the Roger's son.

And I also think than the RA's main base is located in a calm belt, I have this sensation.
