Yeah your right but I suppose it was more than just what he said, look at the mayor's face, his eyes look upwards like he's think of the person and generally everything about the statement looks as if he was thinking about him and even asking him directly, i dunno it's not really logical more a gut feeling, plus i could always just fall back on the "no one dies in OP" arguement, and also it would be silly IMO to introduce a character and then say "oh but he died last year" lol

well, I don't know what to say here, I tried to search for it but found nothing. However I don't think that Oda would do such a thing, because this arc is barely done (2 chapters at most) then the time skip (possible).

It is especially painful because Oda has left us on a massive cliffhanger with Whitebeard seriously hurt and Luffy revived.

I just watched a couple of OP episodes, damn it! Eneru was so cool! I hope he returns in the near future!

Good idea though I don't think Eneru will return anytime soon, he is in outer space at the moment if I'm not mistaken.

You guys have a good point but what I've read here is that the Mayor didn't say Dadan but "Dragon" as in Luffy's father. It's could be a mistranslation. Look for the tittle "THERE IS NO DADAN."

As for Dadan, I gotta disagree ... He does exist
take a look here, I think it's obvious that Luffy knows "Dadan" or "Dragon" (as the link says), well, let consider that Dadan's just a mistranslation ... now, what would you say after checking these two points :

• this is Luffy's reaction after he heard the name Dragon (if it was a mistranslation, don't you think that his reaction doesn't fit)
• And this is the first time he saw Dragon ... his face and/or voice should be familiar, So don't you think that he must have at least recognized his voice.

So this is the prove that Dadan ... EXIST ^_^

Dadan is more than likely still alive. The person that trained Ace, Luffy and possibly Dragon for a period is going to be a badass old timer. I'd go out on a limb and say they might be the only person Garp would be reluctant to cross.

it would be like a family meeting, Ace, Luffy, Dadan, Garp and maybe Luffy's Grandma as well ... xd
this way Garp wouldn't have doubts anymore, of course if he has one ...

If, at all, Dragon has another offspring, it would probably be a daughter - depends on the japanese phrasing of the above sentence. Introducing an yet unkown brother is not much like Oda since it would kinda repeat the whole Ace story ._.

Ofcourse I know that Dadan do exist but what they mean is that the Mayor didn't meant to say Dadan but Dragon, two different people. The tittle "There is no Dadan" doesn't mean he doesn't exist but as the word is mistranslated cus the jap symbol had, probably similar looking, for it to be mistaken as Dadan, that's all.
Plus @ Logue town Luffy didn't get a glimpse at Dragon cus Smoker pinned his head to the ground face down. He probably heard his voice but never saw his face. That's is why he didn't know who Garp was talking about back at Water 7 and Robin had to explained.
Heh, that was fun going back and reviewing OP, I haven't done that in a while. Brought back some memories, It was good.

That page from One Piece Wiki is the Mythbusters page, the title "There is no Dadanwas supposed to mean that it is a myth, beause they choose a title based on the myth. I am surprised that it make such a confusion.

I've just reread the chapter in the one WB and Shanks meet and I've found in it some WB pirates that appear in the war, or at least some WB pirates who look alike some of the war. Enjoy.
