One Piece is by far more popular than Naruto. Oda never made a mistake in his Series, while Kishi just randomly mixes his ideas for the future plot every year anew. The stability proves it's success or the way around.

and yeah Oda really though everything through. Just like in DB where every arc was totally coherent without any random surprises.

I hope you mean classic DB not DBZ. Every arc from DBZ was written with the intent to finish the series, only the editors, Shueisha and co got him to write more and money maybe.^^ Don't know if he fully planned those single arcs though. I even doubt that DB had a red line from the beginning, knowing Toriyamas Omakes and extra info from Dr. Slump, he created and changed quite many things as he has drawn the manga.

No fight seemed random, no encounter came totally out of left wing and each power up had a reason, each new character was introduced in an orderly fashion and everyone's development was true to their nature. So even if toriyama didn't want Cell and Buu arc to happen, they were coherent from start to finish.

Thats the best thing about One Piece. In the Drum arc we first heard of Ace (though not his name), his ability (fire) and of Blackbeard and of his evil nature. BB was on the island followed by Ace who was hunting BB. Then we heard from Ace that he is after BB and wants to make WB PK. Afterwards BB is after Luffy and fights Ace later on only to be delivered to the WG which started the very war Luffy sees WB fight and Luffy losing his brother.

So well thought out and organically developed.

Same goes for Haki which was introduced in chapter 1. Raileigh's coat, the Poneglyphe and now Dadan.

About everything in OP is presented in small bits so that it can be developed without seeming to come out of nowhere. Without being introduced as a stupid gimmick. This only shows that Oda already thought out a lot of plot points and can develop them as the story unfolds.

And that's also the reason why i think Ace's death will hold many revelation for the plot in the future. His death wasn't just for the sake of killing someone but that certain things will work out for the plot because of his death. That for the sake of the story he HAD to be killed and Oda planned it just as everything else in the manga long before hand.

When asked in an SBS, Oda actually said that he didn't planned things for sooo long, but that the story took other courses.



But, still, there aren't so many arcs "necessary" to understand Whitebeard War saga. For example, the mini-arc Kaya is very important (Blackbeard, Shichibukai meeting, New Era...), but Skypeia isn't related to the war. Thrilliar Bark is necessary actually, but that arc is already part of the war saga...

I totall agree with you, but i dont know if i will have as much willpower as you!! these chapters are getting better and better. One Piece Jump sounds AMAZING!!! Everything in OP is interconnected and that is what makes it so amazing. you cant skip an arc or else you will miss things. Oda wanted the series to be 5 years, so much for that, but the editors wanted more so he gave them more. Skypeia arc was actually extended!!! Oda say he knows how to end the series, he is just filling in the blanks for now.

There is a whole Panda crew.. If you look at the chapter where Whitebeard and New World pirates arrive, you can see a panda-themed ship somewhere..
Most likely Pandaman is involved in it..
I don't think he can be their captain because he was in Impel Down somewhere (?).

I just had a thought:

is it possible that Luffy hears the porneglyph if he approaches one? If he looks at the writing he will probably hear something, what do you think?

it is possible that everyone with D. hears the voices coming from it. BB might have something to do with it as well, i mean he heard a voice and then followed a certain dream. before he entered WB's crew, he must have done something, right? I really want to know about BB's past, there should be somthing big~

Still it could be a plausible theory. Like the D bloodline can "hear the voice of all things", but perhaps it's something that gets awoken? I wouldn't discount the idea, but right now Luffy cannot (Alabasta).

well luffy was never standing before it... i've never seen a panel where you could see luffy and the porneglyph together. the voices probably come if you pay attention to it and luffy was just fighting croc in the tombs... so who knows... he might have heard something if he were looking at the stone.
