Re: One Piece 575 Discussion / 576 Prediction
Look, we're shown outright that Vista is almost exactly equal to Mihawk. They had a quite lengthy off-page confrontation that ended in a draw. We also know that Vista is ranked lower than Joz in the WB pirates internal power scale, and that Mihawk's personal test of his power against the "world's strongest man" didn't even scratch Joz, which is a very large shown disadvantage regardless of confrontation length.
Does this mean that Mihawk wouldn't be better suited against, say opponents that need more speed and precision than Joz can provide, and attack from a long distance? No definitely not. That different abilities match differently against each other is pretty obvious, but anything beyond what we've been shown outright as a _general_ gauge (i.e. Mihawk has a clear disadvantage against Joz, and likely much more so against WB himself) is heavy speculation, favourism, and denial territory.
As for Moria, he was much fitter and less lazy in his early days, and he was defeated, and his crew annihilated by Kaidou. In fact he was even left traumatised by the event. Not exactly an even battle going by his own words rather than his reputation. Luffy was also clearly outmatched against Mihawk, as a single attack might kill him, but was swift enough to dodge, which is impressive in itself.
I also came to think of a Haki question. Joz was able to hit Crocodile as a normal opponent, so he seems to be a haki user just like Marco and Vista, but how does that work for distanced attacks like Mihawk's or Whitebeards's air-gash swings? Can haki-users only affect logias through direct body attacks?
