Ground Rules for the Power Level Discussion Thread

As always, please follow the guidelines set by the Forum Rules that apply across the board.

It's important that discussions from a current chapter are spoiler tagged until 24h have passed from an english release.

• For the sake of constructive discussion, where and when possible please quote/ source any information you provide. Particularly when it comes to conversations carried over from other threads.
• Avoid passive agressive posts, sly remarks or baiting/trolling. You can certainly have fun or disagree without it being at someone's expense.
• Only use anime examples that are canon and as means to provide clarity to pages in the manga. Any other anime material is otherwise non-canon and should only be referenced if it can be proved that the mangaka had approved it.
• We will strive to avoid repetitive discussions and any extensive battle topics will be guided to the Davy Back fight to existing threads or new ones can be made there.

As of now these topics are shelved due to repetitiveness or until the manga can present us with material to further discussions:

1. Shanks v Mihawk
2. Hand to hand fighters > Swordsmen
3. Zoro > Luffy
4. Zoro v Sanji
5. Is Smoker a top 30 character?
6. Mihawk's rank within the story
7. Law having CoC currently.

If you wish to continue any of these discussion and remove it from the list, you will need to provide manga material as proof. If there's also anything you think we've covered numerous times, let me know and I'll update the list.

This is the only warning there'll be regarding these ground rules, anything no adhering will be removed. So please just check your posts before posting them.

I would not choose Ace in a fight against admirals. He's certainly a great fighter, even though we're going by pre-timeskip standards, but the admirals are on a whole nother level, or at least Akainu and Aokiji are. Neither would win easily against Ace, but they would definitely win.

I'd love to see Ace as he'd be represented now after Oda made up his mind about power levels and whatnot. He'd be equal to Sabo, Katakuri, and the likes, if not be able to beat Katakuri and the likes.

I have no doubt that, if Ace survived, he'd probably be on the level of FM or FM+. His rate of growth was basically equal to Luffy's going by what's been stated, so he have been a serious monster.

Given that Whitebeard was also grooming him to be the next Pirate King, Ace might even have been much closer to a Yonkou-level strength than anyone else, including Luffy. Not to mention, his rate of growth was said to be before he got mera mera no mi, and I think Blackbeard even praised Ace for knowing how to fight without his devil fruit, as users rely on their power to fight.

Not fair to count the 2 months in the New World while ignoring his years of specific haki training and the previous year of adventure. They add 3 years, which is the time Ace had been a pirate for as well back when he died.

Ace fought WB 100 times. Thats a sure fire way to train tho

I think that was before he met Whitebeard, but that's a horrible way to train since Ace kept getting stomped every time effortlessly.

From what I read... no one thinks he is admiral level. At least I can't see anyone trying to argue he is.

We literally all said that the admirals would beat Ace? The only thing is that some, if not just me, think that it wouldn't be an easy fight as one would assume.

I believe the admiral Ace gives the MOST trouble to is Aokiji purely for the elemental aspect of their fight, to the point where Ace wouldn't get easily overwhelmed.

Fire behaves strangely against different levels of Gravity fields... it would depend on Fujitora's gravity mastery I would think.

Fire only behaves the way it does because it is anchored by earths gravity.

Of course this is fiction so.... idk how gravity vs fore would go lol

Probably could use gravity to divert the fire, assuming Fujitora can use gravity in any direction and not just downward. Or just send the fire down, if he knows it's coming.

This is all I can find about how fire reacts in normal circumstances as opposed to low gravity. I'm no scientist so idk if this is even an issue.

Sabo seemed l have an okay time against Fujitora in dressrosa, even if they both held back

Right exactly. Fire can burn way hotter than magma.

It's why we can't really use laws of physics in the manga, especially when stuff like devil fruit and milk regrowing tooth and healing cracked skull in an instant are impossible in real life. The rule is whatever Oda wants, and he could easily somehow decide to give Aokiji's ice advantage over Ace's fire, though it'd also be interesting to see if Aokiji would make use of water melted from ice as well.
