Ground Rules for the Power Level Discussion Thread

As always, please follow the guidelines set by the Forum Rules that apply across the board.

It's important that discussions from a current chapter are spoiler tagged until 24h have passed from an english release.

• For the sake of constructive discussion, where and when possible please quote/ source any information you provide. Particularly when it comes to conversations carried over from other threads.
• Avoid passive agressive posts, sly remarks or baiting/trolling. You can certainly have fun or disagree without it being at someone's expense.
• Only use anime examples that are canon and as means to provide clarity to pages in the manga. Any other anime material is otherwise non-canon and should only be referenced if it can be proved that the mangaka had approved it.
• We will strive to avoid repetitive discussions and any extensive battle topics will be guided to the Davy Back fight to existing threads or new ones can be made there.

As of now these topics are shelved due to repetitiveness or until the manga can present us with material to further discussions:

1. Shanks v Mihawk
2. Hand to hand fighters > Swordsmen

4. Zoro v Sanji

If you wish to continue any of these discussion and remove it from the list, you will need to provide manga material as proof. If there's also anything you think we've covered numerous times, let me know and I'll update the list.

This is the only warning there'll be regarding these ground rules, anything no adhering will be removed. So please just check your posts before posting them.

I mean, I am of course not saying that Luffy has just become the fastest or 2nd fastest character in the manga, since neither Kaidou nor Big Mom are know for their speed feats, but ofc they are not slouches in that departament either. I mean, Luffy can be as fast as he wants but if he doesn´t have STR to deal dmg to them ,its meaningless (though of course he does have it now)

I am gonna go and take a guess (outside of unknow variables like Imu and Gorosei) that Shanks/Ben Beckman are the 2nd/3rd fastest characters in the verse behind Kizaru (mainly because Beckman was able to make Kizaru stop for a moment and if any Yonkou are to be SPEED then Shanks is the only one that makes sense).

I’d be very surprised if Shanks is faster than Mihawk. He’s probably the 2nd fastest character in the verse after Kizaru. In fact I can see him being above Kizaru in reactions/reflexes. The man has rinnegans after all.

I mean, Marco is literally holding two YC by their thorats and has insane regen
Katakuri was able to fight the MC on even terms and pretty much let himself be beat
King should also be strong as fuck, kicking ships full of people down waterfalls and being on fire.

I mean, I agree that he hasn´t shown anything in feats of speed, while Shanks came out of nowhere to stop Akainu´s attack.

OFC there´s always the argument that Shanks=Mihawk but that is also so far a dead end to any discussions. They are obviously close, but well, being a Yonkou and lacking a arm, and with the focus on Defense (BM) and Attack (Kaidou), I´d say Shanks should be Speed

I had my doubts who was stronger between Luffy and Marco for the Alliance side but this chapter cleared all doubts.
