Ground Rules for the Power Level Discussion Thread

As always, please follow the guidelines set by the Forum Rules that apply across the board.

It's important that discussions from a current chapter are spoiler tagged until 24h have passed from an english release.

• For the sake of constructive discussion, where and when possible please quote/ source any information you provide. Particularly when it comes to conversations carried over from other threads.
• Avoid passive agressive posts, sly remarks or baiting/trolling. You can certainly have fun or disagree without it being at someone's expense.
• Only use anime examples that are canon and as means to provide clarity to pages in the manga. Any other anime material is otherwise non-canon and should only be referenced if it can be proved that the mangaka had approved it.
• We will strive to avoid repetitive discussions and any extensive battle topics will be guided to the Davy Back fight to existing threads or new ones can be made there.

As of now these topics are shelved due to repetitiveness or until the manga can present us with material to further discussions:

Most of it seems pretty solid, but it irks me when people rank characters who have yet to show us what they are capable of.
Here are a few: Beckman, Yassopp, Roo, Shiryuu, Weevil, and Dragon (you didnt list him but others do)
They are all pretty strong individuals but we can not get close to their real strength so I usually do not bother to rank them yet.

Sabo above Wano Luffy? Nope. I feel like Luffy surprassed Sabo after WCI.
Law and Kid above King and Katakuri and Queen?? I still have a hard time believing Law could defeat Doffy who is ranked below them. Kid seems pretty strong but we havent seen him match up against someone of his level to gauge him accurately. People like to put him and Law as equals to Luffy because Oda portrays them as rivals such as Roger and WB and Shiki, but that is not the correct way to gauge their strength.

Jozu and Vista are way too low if anything they should be right below Katakuri, Jozu was confident in defeating or at least stalling Aokiji and Vista went head on towards Mihawk confident that he was able to defeat/stall him too. Jozu was only stopped by Doffy's strings but I dont think that should mean Doffy > Jozu. Aokiji was too scared to fight Aokiji but Jozu wasnt even though he lost.

People overhype Magellan wayyyyyy toooo much. He was a strong opponent Pre Timeskip but anyone who is VA level with proficient CoA can defeat him.

He block and tanked King's attacks. That is YC lvl worthy feat especially he came back fighting like nothing happen to his being. You got take credit in that if your using credit on Zoro in team fight compare to solo fight. Not really fair scope. Jimbei has proven he is YC lvl, just he is in area with enemies and T6H holding him off, but doesn't mean he is T6H lvl. He just want to take off guy's mask then truly defeat him overall. Both are in Top 30 if I being honest.

Neither have characters like Zoro and Yamato and yet you have them in top 40 without proof. Team fights doesn't push someone on another level otherwise we can add Strawhat crew after what they did to Big Mom early.

Nah, they are Whitebeard and Shiki to Luffy's Roger. Zoro isn't stronger than them and he is fighting more with Killer from what we seen on interactions.

Old WB(shell of prime) Crew mostly protected him.

BM is too busy running a kingdom her children mostly seem to do the Pirating.

Kaidou crushing NW captains, creating fake DF army.

Red Hair we don’t know his full M.O as an Emperor of the NW yet, but he’s supported by note worthy 2nd & 3rd. Can even have a sit down with the W

BlackBeard schemed his way from WB’s ship, into a warlord position then betrayed the government and stole WB’s fruit; Def going to be the last emperor standing as he’s gathering real DF’s & power

So none of these crews are equal, the Yonkou just upheld a balance within the world but still yet they have the toughest Pirate crews around
